So who do I believe?? I want a refund. **Developer response:** What you are seeing is Safari's own permission notice, not a message from Auto Mute Tab. Safari shows it for any extension that can see a webpage, and it describes what an extension is able to access, not what it actually does. Auto Mute Tab needs to see the page for one reason: to find the audio and video on it and silence them. Auto Mute Tab does not collect, store, or send your data. There is no analytics, no tracking, no account, and no server to send anything to. Your settings and your allowed sites stay on your device. To stop the prompt on every site: Safari, Settings, Extensions, Auto Mute Tab, then set website access to "Allow on Every Website". On iPhone and iPad this runs into a Safari limitation we can't override: iOS only lets one tab play audio at a time. The moment you start sound in another tab, Safari itself pauses the first one, whitelisted or not. That's enforced by Safari for every extension, so there's no way for us to keep a background tab playing on iOS. Auto Mute still keeps your whitelisted sites from being muted, and on Mac the whitelist works fully, where several tabs can play at once. We tracked down the bug that was letting some sites keep playing in the background and fixed it in version 3.0. We tested it specifically with WhatsApp Web while switching between windows, and it now mutes the way it should. The iPhone and iPad update is already live.
