You need to put in a lot more work and dedication to making autoentry to be a viable contender to ex RB now DXT… please! So much potential, not enough effort. ### 2/5 — Not fit for purpose 😥 *2022-11-10, version 3.0.41* Pretty dismal doesnt matter how much care you take usually get an error saying image not clear. I am using an iphone 12 so it can take a decent image. It would be better if it scanned image's. This is how i am currently doing it using dropbox app. But then I have to manually upload the scans. SO !! Add a scan document feature and it might actually work well. ### 2/5 — App needs updating to use ios16 *2022-10-26, version 3.0.41* Can no longer do simple things like upload receipts, They’ve disappeared and instead showing all my historic receipts I would prefer to filter out. Just tried adding mileage entry I can’t even change a date for the journey date as it’s hidden off the screen. No updates to app available and last update to app was 5months ago. Why advertise a service if you can’t commit to it ? ### 1/5 — Poor app, expensive subscription *2022-09-04, version 3.0.41* Issues: - you can’t delete the picture - you can’t see the description of the previous pictures - it says “upload in progress” but it is in fact processing in progress which happens manually - overpriced, you pay £18 a month for manual checking, there is no intelligent AI recognising the receipts - the design is extremely poor - you have to click return in order to upload the photo after writing the description, you can’t just write and press upload, the click chain is too long - no way to specify which bank account was used for the receipt - no way to change the description of a picture once it is processing ### 1/5 — Terrible *2022-08-15, version 3.0.41* Shocking app. Receipts disappear. When you upload again it comes up as a duplicate. Sadly when we added the app to an iPad then it is hit and miss if it works at all. Between crashing and failing to select an image the app seems to just cost more time and energy instead of saving it. The email service seems to be good though. Apart from that I am not impressed and now looking for alternative. ### 1/5 — Nightmare! *2019-11-06, version 3.0.24* 80+ receipts stuck ‘in the ether’ as uploading or processing... after almost 3 hours on the ‘chat’ with Auto Entry and after 4 different people have been helping me (one just disappeared on lunch and chat was hanging for 30 mins before someone else picked up (they too left) Just laughable ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Sage 50 US *2026-02-13, version 4.13.1* If you use Sage 50 US with multiple users, it doesn’t work when shared and you cannot pay a scanned receipt with a credit card. It only allows cash accounts. Ridiculous since this is owned by Sage. Those problems are not the app, but what’s the point of the app if the rest is useless. Do not know if other versions of Sage work with this or not but if that’s what you are issuing don’t waste your time or money. I spent at least 20 hours with tech support proving the obvious and they didn’t indicate a desire to fix it. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2026-01-13, version 4.13.0* This app is the worst I get billed 20 bucks a month and it first page stays on my recipes from 2021. No menus The camera part is buggy and takes pictures by it self. The customer service is just bots with a 2019 tech asking you dumb questions. I’m begging my accountant to change companies … look at the rating yet the app hasn’t improved … this is a terrible app from a terrible company run by folks who do not care about customer service just bill you to death. Please for the love of god if your an accountant get a better app if your a user plead with your account to change companies….. total garbage ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Load Company *2025-11-09, version 4.12.1* Great idea, but what is the use, of an app, if it not working properly. There are far better invoice capture apps out there. ### 1/5 — Loss of functionality *2023-05-06, version 4.0.0* The system was sold to us as a speed of use and instant integration with our accounts package from the same supplier. We found the system to be superb right up to the point of rebranding to sage. We’ve lost the function of being able to add data to the uploads and now we are just sending pictures to our office through the software. We could do this via messaging services. We now find in the last month auto entry has increased our manual input hours has increased back to prior system integration. We are now considering removing the system completely as we’re discussing each receipt with the office where as before the engineers could automate this and allocate to projects. Would of given no stars if I could as this simply doesn’t do what it says. It’s basically a camera roll only app. I would advise trialing the system and features prior to committing your business to this app. ### 1/5 — Most frustrating app ever *2023-01-16, version 3.0.42* If your receipts don’t upload. They disappear. It’s the most frustrating app ever. Great idea. AutoEntry is a lot cheaper/more flexibly priced than ReceiptBank for instance and in over 9 months of daily use I have had no real issues. One client was so impressed she tackled her 2 year backlog and got herself completely sorted! Works pretty well integrated with Xero. Excellent on bank statement imports. They need to improve its ability to find the eBay Suppliers’ name on emailed Order confirmations. ### 3/5 — Stop cropping when I upload *2026-07-06, version 4.15.0* An annoying issue when you upload photos of invoices is that the app will now automatically decide what part of your entire invoice is ‘the invoice’. It basically crops out most of your document and focuses on a small area instead If you don’t notice this before you submit, it gets rejected because it’s just a random section. If I upload a document I want the entire document please. I shouldn’t have to spend time ensuring it’s showing in full. Please fix ### 3/5 — Can you update this app more frequently *2023-02-18, version 3.0.42* Digital island still on the way, can’t upload screenshot, no access to photo albums, photos from main album display in chaotic order. This app need small cosmetic adjustment and little bit more attention. Update: above ware sort it, thanks for that, however now once I select images from my photo gallery I can’t add it because “done” button is hidden behind battery icon on the top right corner and I’m unable to tap it, same with exit “x” icon on the top left, this is hidden behind clock. ### 3/5 — App needs work *2019-09-19, version 2.2.6* I’m really enjoying using auto entry on the whole.. it has good sage 50 integration, and the customer support has been fantastic. However... for clients who just need to take photos, the app will suffice. But as the accountant, I can’t do anything within the app, and, the website activity and inbox pages don’t work well on my mobile. I hope the app will be developed soon. Will update when I’ve had chance to test on iPad. ### 3/5 — Not sure. No scanning intelligence in the app. *2018-03-13, version 2.0.20* Not much use with the service or the app. I’m attempting to scan an invoice with the app, the picture is distorted. The app scanner in beyond basic. No edge detection. Not sure why they don’t have Scannable like scanning function.
