No meaningful support. I don’t add the hub to my automations any more. Clients are never happy, and I don’t blame them. During these times I can still control the blind with Alexa, so it is likely a problem with just the backend that the app talks to. These are intermittent problems, but I’d say they happen 10-20% of the time, seems like particularly on weekends but I may be mistaken about that. Please get your act together Rollease!! i love these blinds but this company clearly struggles with software engineering. I wish I’d went with Somfy 🙁 ### 1/5 — 1.5 years in and still trying to automate my shades *2020-06-03, version 1.1.29* I installed $13k if these terrible “rollease” brand power-blinds in one of my homes and huge mistake!!!! Avoid this brand, my house with Rockwell Collins blinds were easy to set up this winter. I’m in tech so if I can’t figure this out... no hope for the rest of you. ### 1/5 — Support lacking *2020-04-03, version 1.1.29* Doesn’t work as advertised. Doesn’t integrate with Alexa very well (spotty). Installer says “we don’t know anything about it, you are on your own”. Manufacturer doesn’t support vendor to help customer service. Spend money to buy blinds from a better manufacturer. ### 4/5 — Drops Settings *2019-12-30, version 1.1.28* So far I’m unimpressed. I added all my blinds which took a while and set up scenes and automations. It worked well for a few weeks until the app randomly wiped everything. ### 1/5 — Could be good - but *2019-12-05, version 1.1.28* It behaves weirdly at times. The automated timings seem to lose their settings - mine have just lost their timings - dont know if this is anything to do with daylight savings or not. Its painful to have to recreate the scenes again. ### 1/5 — Absolutely useless *2019-11-16, version 1.1.28* We had so much trouble trying to connect to the wifi and then it was connected so got too scared to touch it. Now we’ve changed internet providers and it won’t connect no matter what we’ve tried! So not user friendly at all!! ### 1/5 — Works only 50% of the time. *2019-09-25, version 1.1.27* This app is able to control my electronic draperies approximately 50% of the time. Since I paid full price for electronic drapes (which are supposed to be controlled by this app), I am very dissatisfied. Even if the app did work more than 50% of the time, the interface design is poor, making it hard to use even when it CAN control my drapes. ### 4/5 — Good app. Enhancements please *2019-08-06, version 1.1.27* This is a good app and works well with Alexa It would be even better If you could set timers to use sunrise and sunset with plus and minus hours and minutes. At the moment you have to set a time to activate and it would be great if this shifted automatically with the seasons. ### 3/5 — Okay but could be better *2019-07-11, version 1.1.27* App works well, but does not allow for cross support with voice activation. Also, it would be great if the app had widget support, so you could swipe left to your widgets so to quickly choose a “scene” such as open all blinds, or close all blinds. As it stands you have to open the app, wait for it to load, then move to scenes then choose the one you want. Having one or two “favourite” scenes accesible from the widget menu would be really handy. ### 1/5 — App Crashes 99% *2019-05-30, version 1.1.27* This app is the worst. It crashed nearly every time I use it. Sometimes the blinds work, other times they dont respond. ### 3/5 — How do you update Hub firmware ?? *2019-03-23, version 1.1.27* Alexa is NOT finding the devices. Talking to support wasn’t helpful. Reinstalling it didn’t work. Resetting the phone didn’t either. Getting a new hub didn’t work. ### 1/5 — Useless *2026-01-19, version 1.1.30* Don’t bother. Company won’t respond so we’ll see if a bad review might prompt a response. ### 1/5 — Zero support, zero ability to use app *2024-10-01, version 1.1.30* The help button in the app just takes you to a general Rollease Acmeda website and every time I try to set things up nothing I enter is stored. I’ve set up Somfy, Lutron, Hunter Douglas hubs and never had problems like this app. It’s like they abandoned it but left it up on the App Store. ### 1/5 — Disappointing products *2023-12-07, version 1.1.30* Set up the hub and connect to the shades are not easy. I went through many trial and error. When it finally works, one of my four shades would lose connection with the hub once a week. I have to use the remote a few times to trigger the shade and then it would reconnect with the hub. The interface is OK, but since I use Apple HomeKit, I don’t use this app often unless the hub drops connection with one of the shades again. In Nov, they emailed me and saying that I have to mail the hub to them to fix an issue related to the v1.9.0 firmware, and the process will take two weeks. When it is fixed, I will have to go through the setup nightmare again. I won’t recommend their products, app and shades. There are several other HomeKit compatible shades on the market with similar price, and my friends have those; they don’t have as much issues as I have with Rollease. ### 1/5 — Working on 16.6? *2023-07-30, version 1.1.30* Not sure what’s going on but I lost all Rooms and Scenes after updating to IOS 16.6. Searched online for detailed user manual but nothing documented for troubleshooting. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Superior Tech Support *2020-07-12, version 1.1.30* The hub for my shades and the phone app became disconnected and I tried to reconnect but ended up resetting the hub. Fortunately, George at tech support to the rescue. He talked me through the procedure to connect the app to the hub -an exercise in patience- and then the steps to add each shade to the app. With George’s tutoring, I learned how to finish the setup with Alexa. The tutorials only took me so far. It was the ability to have a phone conversation with tech support that earned this app its high review. ### 5/5 — Support *2020-05-12, version 1.1.29* Best and most responsive customer support. My email was answered with a call and George immediately went online and had me up and running in no time. The real life Curtain picture is incredible on the app physically showing my Curtain opening one way; great technology!
