## What is Autorota?

Rota builds your team's weekly schedule for you.

Set up your shift schedule once — days, times, roles, how many people you need. Add your team and their availability on a simple hour-by-hour grid. Then one tap generates the week: everyone placed where they're available and qualified, hour limits respected, the hardest-to-fill shifts handled first, and the workload spread fairly across the team.

The generated rota is a starting point, not a verdict. Everything stays editable — move someone, swap two people, adjust times, drop in a one-off shift. Rota does the tedious part so you can spend your time on the judgement calls only you can make.

SCHEDULING THAT ACTUALLY FITS YOUR TEAM

Weekly recurring shifts with roles and flexible headcount — or wildcard shifts anyone can cover
Hour-by-hour availability per person: yes, maybe, or no, with a reusable weekly pattern
One-off changes for real life: date-specific availability, edited shift times, extra cover, cancellations
Weekly and daily hour limits per person, so nobody quietly ends up with 60 hours

EDIT FREELY, WITH A SAFETY NET

Every change is saved automatically. The Edit Log keeps a timeline of your rota's history — expand any entry to see exactly what changed, label the versions worth keeping, and restore any earlier state in a tap. Experiment as much as you like; you can always get back.

There's also a per-person shift history, so questions like "how many weekends has Sam worked this month?" have a real answer.

SHARE THE SCHEDULE, NOT THE SPREADSHEET

Export the week as a polished PDF, or as CSV and JSON for anything else. Choose the layout that suits your team — full weekly grid, by role, or individual schedules for each person — and pick between a staff version and a manager version that includes costs. Send it anywhere with the standard share sheet.

KNOW WHAT THE WEEK COSTS

Set hourly wages and Rota shows hours and labour costs for the week, with charts to spot trends. See the cost of a schedule before you publish it and not after.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

No accounts. No sign-ups. No tracking. Rota collects nothing — your data lives on your device and syncs privately through your own iCloud, so your rota is waiting on your iPad when you put your iPhone down. There is no server of ours holding your team's details, because there doesn't need to be.

BUILT FOR SMALL TEAMS

Cafés, bars, shops, salons, studios, clinics — if your week runs on shifts and you're the one juggling them, Rota is for you. It replaces the Sunday-evening spreadsheet wrestle with something closer to a tap and a once-over.

Setting up takes a few minutes: add your people, sketch your shifts, and generate your first week. Moving from another system? Import and export your setup as a simple data bundle.

Rota is designed and built for iPhone and iPad.
