### 2/5 — Where is the latest February Edition

*2020-02-05*

Why has the latest edition for February with Alonso on the front not been made available to download. Not good as the print version was out last week. Usually very reliable but not this time.

### 1/5 — UPDATE

*2019-10-06*

Please update the app for iOS 13 or newer. I have to delete app for new issues and when I go to read via the app it crashes my phone each time which I’d imagine due to it last being updated for iOS11! Please fix this!!!

### 1/5 — Still a pain

*2019-10-01*

You have one job to do as a media provider and you can’t do it properly. I know teenagers who can create better apps. You’re a massive organisation and I fail to see how you don’t have the resource to build an app or outsource the task.

*update: this has got even worse recently with me being told I’m registered on too may devices (I.e. one) and no one bothers to respond to my support emails. I won’t be renewing my subscription

### 1/5 — The app, customer support which is worse?

*2019-07-13*

I obtained a one year subscription that I could never find. Contacted support at pixelmags and received a canned response and a link to their FAQs, or whatever they called them. I tried everything that was suggested in their FAQs.

Tried to get the publisher Autosport media involved and they assured me pixelmags customer service would be glad to help. Their help was another link to their FAQs.

Sent more info that might be pertinent to resolving the problem.
The publisher sent them an “Urgent” cc. Still trying to assure me that pixelmags would set it right. I didn’t even get another link to their FAQs. Was somewhat surprised that Autosport Media didn’t step up.

### 1/5 — Pleas get it right already!

*2019-05-04*

Every time I buy an issue I have to erase and again download the app, and even then I have to buy the issue multiple times. Well, at least I am not charged for the issue multiple times. But last year I purchased a yearly subscription and it did not work. It’s a shame.

### 2/5 — Need to keep redownloading magazines

*2019-02-24*

Very annoying app, have to keep restoring my subscription and downloading content almost every time I go on the app. Frustrating!

### 2/5 — No July 2018 issue?

*2018-07-19*

App goes from June 2018 to August 2018, with no July 2018 issue present. The magazine says inside it is published monthly. I subscribe to this and would like to know what happened to the July issue?

### 1/5 — Cannot open any magazine

*2018-05-27*

Got an annual subscription two weeks ago but still cannot open any magazine. Sent a message to support, no reply. Tried to send another message via app. cannot send an message. I have no clue what to do next...

### 1/5 — Horribly Broken

*2018-05-12*

My subscription never shows up. I used to have to re-install the app for every new issue, now I can’t even do that. Keep getting an error when loading content. Support doesn’t work weekends, apparently, either.

### 1/5 — Once again won’t load.

*2018-03-25*

These people are horrible. Constant problems. Magazines never load subscriptions constantly disappear from queue they say it’s restored which maybe lasts a day and neither Apple or Pixelmags will give refunds. Find your subscriptions somewhere else

### 1/5 — Have to erase and reload App to get new issue

*2017-09-14*

On this version, on the latest iPad you have to delete the App and reload it to get the new issue on the day the new issue comes out. I have an old version of the App on the first gen iPad and it automatically updates the issue. Funny how things 'improve' but actually don't!

### 2/5 — Update ???

*2017-04-29*

Pas de mise à jour depuis décembre 2015 ?! Sérieux ! Elle sont ou les optimisations iOS ?

### 1/5 — No support

*2017-03-12*

I'm concerned about this app. Now on my phone, I'm unable to remove it. Support seems to be nothing more than a word so, as all else seems to have failed, I'm resetting my phone and, obviously, I'd highly advise people to avoid this app!

### 1/5 — Horrible app and horrible magazine

*2015-08-29*

App is near useless. Format does not scale to mobile devices and is near impossible to easily navigate from anything but a desktop. Additionally, content is purely fan boy in nature- nothing actually informative or interesting. Reads like a fashion mag for teenage girls. Canceling and going back to autosport.

### 1/5 — £4 an issue?

*2015-04-09*

I don't think so...
And the paper version is even more expensive, someone claimed? Well, don't need either then.

### 1/5 — Glorified pdf

*2015-03-21*

Dull, dull, dull. There is no attempt in taking advantage of this medium - interactivity, visualisations, etc. Instead it's a pdf version of their physical magazine. Even the fonts don't scale when the page is magnified.

Don't bother with the electronic version - way too expensive for a glorified pdf. At least you can cover your head when it rains with the physical version.

### 1/5 — Doesnt work

*2015-01-20*

Don't get it its just do bad

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible Experience

*2024-02-13*

Received magazine subscription as a Christmas Gift. Would have gave up if it wasn’t a gift and the person who gave the gift wanting to make sure I had access. Several emails to get information to sign in and even then very very difficult. I don’t know if the designer realizes how stressful it can be trying to figure this out with confusing sign in options. Please just give us a simple email sign in and password instead of multiple different directions depending on device or website. Feels like an insiders joke by the design team to have a laugh at the expense of users.

### 1/5 — Very unstable app

*2023-02-05*

It is very frustrating that the app on the ida simply does not work well

### 1/5 — Switching to Zinio

*2020-11-09*

Agree with the other reviewers...this app is a disaster and getting worse. The developers clearly don’t get the concept of an app... you should never have to authenticate after the first time. Presently I cannot access any issue after August 2020 (it is now November). I am going to let my sub expire and subscribe through the Zinio app, which is highly reliable. Cost there is $35.99/year. Plus, Zinio has a “reader” view that reflows text and pix for easier reading on smaller screens. [I am not affiliated with Zinio or GP Racing... just a fan].

### 1/5 — Buy the print magazine

*2020-10-05*

This app is hopeless, a gift subscription was impossible to redeem, the pixel mags server is flakey, my attempts to create an account, log in, and contact support have all failed. How do I lie to the purchaser of this gift and say “oh it’s great! What a lovely present.....”. Save your time and money , just buy a print magazine.

### 1/5 — Wish it was working

*2020-09-27*

Tried to renew my subscription and can't get it to work. Bummer because the content is fantastic

### 1/5 — GP Racing

*2020-09-19*

Given how far we have come with technology across the globe, this is by far the worse digital experience I’ve engaged. The app is trash! Auto Sport has correctly confirmed my subscription#, email address and password, yet the app fails to recognize my subscription and account.

Strongly recommend to that you do not buy the digital subscription. It’s a horrible experience and waste of money.

### 1/5 — App

*2020-08-26*

Magazine content is very good but it comes with the worst App ever, slow or no help with issues which never get responded to or corrected and the FAQ is a joke

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2020-03-17*

Brilliant magazine but this app is a joke. I had a big problem to acces my subscription after I sign for it, it took me several days and couple of emails with customer service. App keeps loging me out so often I need to log in almost every time I want to use it. Over that it drains battery like crazy, 60% after one hour of reading on 3 months old iphone xr - unbeliveable. As far as Im concerned, thats the only way to read GP Racing in digital version, so after my subscription is finished, I am also done with that title. Highly NOT recomended app

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2020-03-04*

Considering this company wants to push its digital content, it has a terrible way of demonstrating its competency in doing so. I received a gift subscription yet I have to log in using the gift givers credentials and I have yet been able to access a copy of the magazine through the app.

The fact the app was last updated TWO YEAR AGO explains a lot.

Update - Feb 2020 - The magazine has changed its name to GP Racing and they haven’t even bothered to update the app. Latest copy of the magazine hasn’t been loaded to the app. I can see why they nearly had to close the magazine if this is how they treat their readers!

### 1/5 — Avoid this app

*2020-02-22*

Update: again I can’t access the magazines I’ve paid for, logged in, logged out, restored purchases & subscription removes app and downloaded again none of which has worked. Emailed support so we’ll see if the respond, past experience leads me to believe they won’t.

This doesn’t work well on an iPad Pro 12.9”, not filling the screen in landscape view an adding in blank pages in portrait view. It’s all scaleable , scrollable and readable, but not a smooth experience.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Update

*2020-11-07*

Perhaps the folks who manage this app listened. I’ve had no issues accessing the magazine the past month or two. I do have to log-in on my iPad every time I start the app, which is a bummer, but it’s worth it to have the magazine. Please keep it going.

Previous Review: This app by Pixelmag has been going downhill for a few years, but now, totally .. well.. gone. Can’t log in, and even if I could, the latest issue (Sept) isn’t on there. What did they do? Take the money and run??

### 5/5 — Wonderful.

*2014-12-13, version 3.1.6*

Firstly, ignore the people claiming false advertising, Haymarket are not going to give away this magazine for free when the print version costs money. The app is free to download which allows you to subscribe to the magazine. It is far cheaper to buy the digital version than the print version.

There is nothing wrong with the text or pictures pixilating at all.
If your a fan of F1 Racing and have an iPad then the digital version is a no brainer. I've subscribed to this magazine since the first one.

### 5/5 — F1 Racing

*2013-10-01, version 3.1.2*

This is my favourite digital magazine. I love the in depth interviews and great shots the team manage to get. Fab for f1 fans on the move

### 5/5 — Great app

*2013-04-26*

Why put 1 star it says in app purchases all magazines are like this on iOS it's great for the money

### 5/5 — F1!!

*2013-04-05*

I love watching f1 now I can read it. Can't get any better then this.

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2013-01-09, version 2.5.7*

I have been a subscriber to F1 Racing for a good few years now and since getting my new iPad last month I thought I'd try out the digital edition.

Well I am happy to say I was not disappointed! Magazine looks great on the retina display and is very easy to navigate. Also, £2.99 for an issue is a bargain considering the paper edition is £4.70.

### 4/5 — Love the mag

*2018-07-30*

But as a few people have said, a lot more could be done with maximising the digital format.
Links and interactive features would make this app so much better. Given the discount for the digital edition over the paper copy, I’d be willing to pay a little more if there were interactive features.

### 3/5 — Needs iphone 5 support

*2013-03-22, version 2.5.7*

Also a bit buggy - crashes when you try and create an account.

### 3/5 — Good value but disappointing

*2013-03-17*

Firstly, this is NOT free, you don't get any content until you buy an issue or subscription, not even a sample. This is simply false advertising.

Disappointed that the magazine is simply a copy of the magazine pages with no interactive features, not even tappable hyperlinks. Zooming into a page starts to show pixelation.

However, at £2.99 an issue it is quite a bit cheaper than the print copy and good value in my opinion.

### 2/5 — Great mag, app not so much.

*2020-10-05*

Had the app for quite a while now and started off well with my issues being there each month. Until that is about 4 months ago when I had to keep contacting the app for my next issue. The latest issue (November), still hasn’t appeared, nearly 10 days past the release date. If Uncle Roger had this app, he would constantly be saying, Haiyaaaa. Shame.
