I’m writing this on 25th September, and the latest issue available is the 3rd September issue with the Spa report. Three issues are or have been on shop shelves but are not available to read on the app, and I’ve no interest in subscribing to a package that would mean I’d be reading race reports 2 or 3 weeks (or more) after the event. My other magazine apps upload their issues on the day of retail release. That’s the standard, and anything else is unacceptably poor. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2020-09-04, version 4.3.1* This app is an absolute disgrace. I have to keep re-registering and even then it randomly decides it is not downloading. Since whatever happened to the website in early March 2020 I’ve not been able to login to the app. ### 1/5 — Do not buy this under any circumstances! *2020-03-04, version 4.3.1* The other negative reviews understate how bad the situation is—having paid £99.99 I can’t access any content, and support will not answer emails. In my opinion, Apple should remove this app immediately from the store. Apple are not much help either, to be honest, and provide no way of complaining about publishers like this one, who are doing their level best to bring the app store into total disrepute. I should add that if you have the Autosport Plus sub it is worth turning the auto renew off, because the feed has become unavailable and yet the developer is still taking cash. All the other reviews here are correct, this is just such a terrible experience. The reporting is great but you couldn’t get a worse digital experience. Great magazine, terrible app. ### 1/5 — Not value for money *2019-03-13* I wish I could rate this app highly and feel justified if paying a sub, but the app is poor (clunky and slow), and the writing isn’t that good too often. Reduce the number of ‘plus’ articles which are just overblown opinion pieces, oh and before publishing any story print them on paper and proofread them properly! Do that and hire better app builders and I may sign up again! ### 1/5 — Very poor *2018-06-16* I used to refer to the old Autosport app nearly every day, but no longer. This app is so so so slow it is like watching paint dry waiting for stories to load up. And then you find half of them are behind a pay wall. Come on Autosport, you can do better than this. You do exist I assume as you have created this app. Were you wiped out / fired / eaten by zombies. I love your magazine. So much that I have to reinstall it every time I want to read it. You push my patience. Does it change. No. I go to the app ~ sometimes the magazine appears, sometimes it doesn’t. This time just a grey square with the spinning wheel symbol. You have to be kidding. Put down your pipes, down that pint of bitter, stop reminiscing about Giles Villeneuve to the landlord and get on the blower to someone who can do something, anything to make this more user friendly. ### 1/5 — The most troubled app I have ever purchased *2018-06-07* Repeated problems with the app culminating with the inability to download content immediately after paying $129.99 for a renewal. Support is nonexistent. I requested assistance 6 times. I responded to requests for screenshots of the subscription payment and upon sending them the screenshots each time they stopped responding. It’s too much about back biting and not enough about the cars. I’ve been reading Auto Sport for 60 years and I not inclined to renew my subscription. In 2020, I could no longer access the app. It was looking for a subscription number. I couldn’t find it, and no one at Autosport seems to know how to fix it, or maybe they just don’t care. I can still access their site on my PC, the app is simply garbage to me. ### 1/5 — So unhappy *2021-09-25* If have subscribed for years but continue to have issues and when I contact you you do nothing. Every time I try to down load an edition it has logged me out. I log in and it says subscribe. I know I’m subscribed so I hit retore. It either logs me in or tries to charge me again by offering a 1 month or 12 month subscription. I either keep persisting a few times until I give up or it finally realises i have a valid subscription and tells me it’s restored. On numerous occasions i have just paid for a month by accident assuming it would recognise my subscription only to discover it doesn’t and charges me again. As it seems to suggest it will be a recurring monthly charge I get SO FRUSTRATED that I cancel the monthly subscription immediately AS I OFTEN HAVE A VALID YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. I can’t tell you the number of times I have had a valid yearly subscription and still been charged for a weekly edition when I request to download one!!!! I love your magazine but I am beyond frustrated. I demand someone check my account and refund any charge for a stand-alone weekly download normally $5.99 or a charge for a monthly subscription while I have had a valid yearly subscription at the time. I have contacted you 4 times at least about this issue to never once receive a refund, a sensible reply with a solution or a refund. To be clear after you arrange the refund IF you can resolve this I still want to find a solution that means I can simply download each week’s edition without risk of paying simply and without fuss. Due to COVID-19 I tried to purchase the current issue. The process said success then “Oops Fail”. I closed the app & checked my card and no purchase there. It’s a fantastic magazine and the staff working on it deserve better than this load of bollox. But I wasn’t sure wrong it’s a great magazine for motorsport devotees like me. The same complaints month after month & still no response. Absolutely no response when you try to log a problem with the publisher too. Have to re-log in almost every time even though I have “keep me logged in” checked. I typically have to delete the app and re-download it from the app store to get it to make the newest issue available, which means I also have to re-download my old issues. Lastly, having the magazine app separate from the Autosport Plus app seem clunky.
