## What is AutoTempest?

AutoTempest aggregates millions of listings from the top car listings sites in the USA and Canada, including Cars.com, Truecar, eBay Motors, Carvana, Hemmings, Cars & Bids, Carsoup, and more. We also generate comparison links for other large sites like Autotrader and Cargurus, as well as classifieds like Facebook Marketplace and craigslist, nationwide.

Why spend time searching a bunch of different sites (or apps) separately when you can get everything in one place, and avoid missing the car you're looking for? AutoTempest makes it easy to find your ideal car, wherever it's listed. It's the smart way to find next car.

Q: What's the point of the app when I can just use the autotempest.com website?

A: If you're happy using AutoTempest in your browser and don't want to use the app, no problem! We will always try to include all features and support all devices on the website. If you're searching for cars regularly though and want a faster way to get into it, maybe the app is for you.

Q: How come you don't have this car from Cargurus/Autotrader/Facebook?

A: AutoTempest pulls together listings from many of the top car listings sites, including Cars.com, Truecar, Carvana, eBay, and many more. That said, there are a few whose listings we don't have direct access to. However, to make your search as easy as possible, we do still link to matching search results from those sites. So you actually can see all their listings matching your search; just click the comparison links at the end of our results. No need to visit multiple sites (or apps) and re-enter your search.

Q: Is the app finished, or do you have more features planned?

A: We're working on improving the advanced search first, to make it more intuitive. Later we'll be adding an optional login to share favorite searches and listings between app and web, and across devices, as well as the ability to manage saved searches and, eventually, saved and ignored vehicles, all from the app. After that, let us know what you'd like to see.

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE new app design!!!

The new interface is the most buggy unintuitive thing I’ve ever used, I’m not even an elderly person. It’s terrible. Please hit rewind and go back to the old interface. Then fire whoever came up with this design. The old version had its problems but they were minor, and still way better than this. I used this app more than anything else on my phone, it was such a great tool for keeping up  used market pricing and great way to pass the time. It’s as if this new version was designed by someone who doesn’t even like cars, or even needs to drive one….

I’ve never heard of this site and found it through my AI app and it’s so helpful to save time and gets through a lot of the other sites faster.

Never seemed to properly work numerous times i would go on different apps or websites too find vehicles. Then jump over to auto tempest to see if this app would find it and it never would. Would genuinelynot show me like 40+ vehicles in my area that were on other services. It would just tell me oh maybe change some of your settings. Absolute waste of time.

The filters are unfortunately not advanced enough to give refined results. You have to wade through hundreds of options which lack specific features or trim levels that you want, which is a huge waste of time. After a five minute test, I’ll be uninstalling.

Because we aggregate listings from thousands of dealers, trim and feature data isn't always structured consistently across sources, which can make filtering less precise than we'd like. We do currently offer a trim keyword search filter that can help narrow results, but we know that's not as seamless as selecting specific trim levels directly. That more structured approach is something we're actively investigating. Downloaded AutoTempest, interface is extremely outdated, the app ended up taking me into a browser where I though I was selecting which models to look at, next thing I know I’m receiving 20 calls at once from dealers all over the state, this has been a daily nightmare for the last two weeks. My mailbox filling up every day, having to block dozens of numbers. Tried to find a way to opt out of all this in AutoTempest and there is no option, customer service is of no help, says it’s on me to figure this out. Your app and customer service truly sucks.

I’ll never understand the idiocy of not being able to look in my own area. If I choose a distance it’s at least 25 miles or FURTHER. Not closer. If I remove the distance, it’s random but still may not be in my area. I’m getting into car flipping. I wanna shop in the Chicago area, not Virginia. That’s incredibly stupid, in my opinion.

**Developer response:** If you choose a distance of 25mi., we show you results within that search area first (if any), though we do show results outside of that area as well - displayed in a separate section below a header with text like 'Results beyond 25mi'. However! You can turn off the inclusion of results outside of your search area. At the top of the results list, tap 'Sources' (beside 'Sort'), uncheck the 'Show results beyond search distance' option, and tap 'Update'. This setting will be remembered between searches. Thanks to your feedback, we're looking at ways to make these details more intuitive - but hopefully this helps in the meantime.
