You have to wade through hundreds of options which lack specific features or trim levels that you want, which is a huge waste of time. After a five minute test, I’ll be uninstalling. **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. You're touching on a real challenge we're actively working to improve. Because we aggregate listings from thousands of dealers, trim and feature data isn't always structured consistently across sources, which can make filtering less precise than we'd like. We do currently offer a trim keyword search filter that can help narrow results, but we know that's not as seamless as selecting specific trim levels directly. That more structured approach is something we're actively investigating. Example I’m looking for q Chevy/GM truck would be nice to be able to select up more than one make and model at a time, or limit the search to specific makes ### 5/5 — Black Screen Bug For Me!! *2025-05-15* I have been using this app for years 10/10 recommend. But lately I've been use the website but the mobile app for me give me a black screen. I restart me phone and force quick the app still nothing is working for me now **Developer response:** This may be a result of a long period of inactivity after initial installation (a bug that we're currently working on addressing!). It’s terrible. Please hit rewind and go back to the old interface. Then fire whoever came up with this design. The old version had its problems but they were minor, and still way better than this. I used this app more than anything else on my phone, it was such a great tool for keeping up used market pricing and great way to pass the time. It’s as if this new version was designed by someone who doesn’t even like cars, or even needs to drive one…. **Developer response:** We're sorry to hear your frustration with the recent changes. I guess I will keep using car gurus ### 1/5 — Useless *2026-05-25* Never seemed to properly work numerous times i would go on different apps or websites too find vehicles. Then jump over to auto tempest to see if this app would find it and it never would. Would genuinelynot show me like 40+ vehicles in my area that were on other services. It would just tell me oh maybe change some of your settings. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Do NOT download AutoTempest *2026-02-04, version 1.0.46* Downloaded AutoTempest, interface is extremely outdated, the app ended up taking me into a browser where I though I was selecting which models to look at, next thing I know I’m receiving 20 calls at once from dealers all over the state, this has been a daily nightmare for the last two weeks. My mailbox filling up every day, having to block dozens of numbers. Tried to find a way to opt out of all this in AutoTempest and there is no option, customer service is of no help, says it’s on me to figure this out. Your app and customer service truly sucks. ### 1/5 — Makes no sense *2026-01-09* I’ll never understand the idiocy of not being able to look in my own area. If I choose a distance it’s at least 25 miles or FURTHER. Not closer. If I remove the distance, it’s random but still may not be in my area. I’m getting into car flipping. I wanna shop in the Chicago area, not Virginia. That’s incredibly stupid, in my opinion. **Developer response:** If you choose a distance of 25mi., we show you results within that search area first (if any), though we do show results outside of that area as well - displayed in a separate section below a header with text like 'Results beyond 25mi'. However! You can turn off the inclusion of results outside of your search area. At the top of the results list, tap 'Sources' (beside 'Sort'), uncheck the 'Show results beyond search distance' option, and tap 'Update'. This setting will be remembered between searches. Thanks to your feedback, we're looking at ways to make these details more intuitive - but hopefully this helps in the meantime. It will not filter out automatics when asked to. Why do you need to add an extra step for people to view the images on the vehicles? First they load the preview of about 6 images and you have to go to another windows to view the rest of the pictures? We've worked with the partner in question to restore the original behaviour. ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-10-24* They expect you to log into your personal accounts inside of the app. theres no reason it should even need to be logged in, and on top of that it doesnt even find cars nearby. i got this to find cars locally since the apps themselves always show results from anywhere despite the filter. Not only is this super sketch, but it doesnt even show you the results, it shows windows from the app itself meaning the search filters still dont even work. use the official apps, not this company. theres nothing different between them. no good comes from here. **Developer response:** It sounds like you might be referring to the Facebook Marketplace comparison links that we include? Unlike most of the results we provide, we don't have direct access to Facebook, so we can't show those vehicles right on our page. In order to make it more convenient to search Facebook for vehicles over a large area though, we instead include links to Facebook results from various regions. You must be logged into Facebook for the links to open a Facebook Marketplace search with the filters applied, which is why we suggest logging in for that specific case. Also Facebook will sometimes include results from outside your search area, just as they do when you use their site directly; unfortunately we have no control over this. As well as the Facebook Marketplace and other similar comparison links, we pull vehicle listings from multiple sources and display them to you together. When clicking on these vehicles, most will take you directly to the vehicle details page on the third party site, such as Cars.com, Truecar, eBay Motors, etc. You have the choice of opening these pages in the AutoTempest app, or in your regular browser.
