That is a deal breaker in hot climates ### 3/5 — App sucks iPhone battery like no other *2026-08-20, version 4.34.0* I’ve been using this app on iOS regularly for several years, and it’s consistently the most “power hungry” app I have. It frequently slows down my phone even when just browsing listings. It runs the battery down by double digit percent over a few tens of minutes. There are frequent in-app feedback surveys, but I no longer bother: if the developer isn’t using monitoring to see how performance sucks then they have more fundamental problems then asking users to help prioritize the feature backlog. Please do better, you’re the market leader but it won’t last if you’re sloppy. ### 4/5 — DARK MODE PLEEEEEASE *2026-08-19, version 4.34.0* This app is so fricken bright all the dang time, it’s one of my favorites, I will update this 4 star to a 5 star when I get a dark mode. My biggest gripe is that the app doesn’t tell you which vehicle has been sold from your favorite vehicles. Just get an email that says “ fill in the blank vehicle” if gone. But if you had multiple vehicles of that model saved to your favorites, you don’t know which one it is. It has been sold. It doesn’t give you a thumbnail or show you the listing. Not sure who thought this was an improvement….the chat and “make an offer” interfaces are clunking at best and fail often. Ugh ### 2/5 — Ads on top of ads *2026-08-19, version 4.34.0* The whole purpose of this app is to look at car advertisements. Now I have to deal with “Angry Birds” ads to see the car ads? This is junk. ### 2/5 — Dealers lie on posts *2026-08-18, version 4.34.0* So I have bought one vehicle off Autotrader and looking to buy a second through Autotrader common theme is dealers lie. Make sure you click on the link and do your research of mileage and a clean title. I do not see a button or I could submit that this posting is an accurate to make Autotrader review it but my first vehicle had a rebuilt title. Due to it being a manufacturer recall because it was the first year model so they had a lot of engine. But some have a rebuilt title because they were a complete total loss from an accident. Just make sure you do your research and dig diligence. Also, there are a lot of vehicles on here that are posted way above Kelley Blue Book price. ### 2/5 — Duplicate car listings *2026-08-16, version 4.33.0* It shows repeat car listings when I search for a vehicle it shows duplicates of the exact same vehicle. I use to love Autotrader when I was a kid and they would put out the magazine once a week. So I figured I would give them a shot I paid $29. To simply have scammers send me about 6 messages a day same messages copied and past with burner phone numbers wasting my time I haven’t got a single legit possible customer from this app I literally paid $29 to be hurassed ### 1/5 — Scams are crazy on here *2026-08-23, version 4.34.0* I paid to sell a car on your platform $50 in 2 days 20 messages and all were obvious scammers not a single valid inquire on the car you guys have to get control of this platform. Add a feature where you can not message a seller unless you present a valid drivers license. How is AutoTrader not putting better controls on this. I’ve flagged every post. You are bombarded by spam!! Some even tricky enough to ask relevant questions to try to convince you to engage only to be duped once engaging. Much better results with Facebook Marketplace. Not saying you don’t get spam there but it is at least easy to dismiss it or check the profile for legitimacy. If the spam was not bad enough the messaging platform feels like it is from the early days of the internet. Always freezes or fails to log you in. I still haven’t gotten to work unless I have full bars and service. I sent a message asking for my money back after only three days. It’s not worth going through constant spam and laggy app for the 1/20 messages which are legitimate. Should have read the reviews before wasting my money. They can’t keep the scammers off of the site, so you spend all this time trying to fend off the scammers to see if there’s actually any real messages in your inbox. And of course Autotrader owns no part of what’s happening. So you can’t get a refund.
