Location was great also! The only drawback was no cell reception at all and the WiFi was very iffy, other that we enjoyed the beautiful Avantstay! ### 5/5 — Telluride stay at Etta Place 1 *2024-07-12, version 1.36.0* I love the location. The condo was large for 4 and with all that we need. We would stay here again and highly recommend this place.. ### 3/5 — Shoreline *2024-07-09* Location of home was outstanding, convenient to the beach and Belmont Park. Wonderful place to walk. The home itself is a great size for a large group. Home needs maintenance and deep cleaning. The appliances need to be replaced. There are 2 dishwashers and both were broken. AvantStay sent paper plates, bowls, cups and silverware which helped but with 14 people there was still a lot of hand dishwashing that had to be done. The dryer took hours to dry anything and it made a lot of noise. The patio has dead plants and the outdoor spa did not look inviting. The app opens, shows the splash screen, then closes immediately. I am running iOS 17.1.2 (21B101) on an iPhone 11 Pro Max. And the AvantStay App makes it so easy. The home was super clean and has beautiful furnishings and decor. We will definitely book here again and recommend it to friends and family! ### 2/5 — Mediocre home/cs good *2023-05-24, version 1.23.0* Had a rough start due to a mix up on the location where we were staying. The vrbo site messaging is very confusing and the avant stay generic responses make it hard to determine who you are talking to. Once we got to the location, the house was big and spacious with a big yard down below. There is a very steep driveway. It is not a child friendly home. The upper deck has railings that are not to code and a baby up to any young child could fit through and fall to a concrete area below. The sliding doors don’t have good locks for day uses or have screens to keep the children in. The screens on the upper windows popped out easily and a child could fall right out of them. We were on constant watch. The yard has Astro turf and has large holes underneath and the edges have nails sticking up so you couldn’t just let kids play. The bathrooms are old with fixtures that didn’t work properly and if you are taller than 5’8” you didn’t fit in the shower. The kitchen didn’t have a can opener or hot pads. The refrigerator has a drawer broke and a trash can cabinet was broken. There were no wash cloths to wipe up spills and nothing to spray to clean counters. They asked not to put food down sink but had not drain catch to help with that. Several of us had bites and encountered larger spiders in our stuff and towels. The furniture is uncomfortable, stained and cumbersome to sit in. However, when I asked the avant stay team to help us with issues during our stay, they were on top of it and got us what we needed immediately. Beds and pillows are nice. Would be nice to have a curtain barrier between the trundle and main bed area so they could have some privacy. The yard lights never go off and make it difficult to sleep with lights on all night. It was extremely clean and in an amazing location. The home was stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and perfect space for young children as well. The outdoor area has safe space for the kids to play and an amazing hot tub that the adults enjoyed. We will most definitely be staying here again! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cancelled my Reservation *2026-04-15* Less than 24 hours before arriving in Port Aransas Texas, I was notified that my paid in full reservation was canceled. They expressed regret but that was my only compensation. I did get a refund, four days later. We had already driven to Texas from Missouri and had to find another condo that was suitable. This situation caused me much frustration and an extra $500. My wife has mobility issues and they only offered us alternatives that were multilevel with steps. If you require confidence that you will get what you pay for or assistance if there is a problem stay away. ### 1/5 — Use a Real Rental App *2025-12-02* My whole extended family decided to give this booking system a try and booked a large FL beach house in advance for the week after Christmas. People bought flights in based on our rental location. The property cancelled our paid booking less than one month out leaving us totally in the lurch and scrambling to find space for 9 on short notice over the holidays, rearranging flights, etc. Never again. At least more established apps have a system to penalize the owners who make reckless moves. ### 1/5 — Horrible customer service *2025-07-13* My wife and I drove 5 Hours to the beach, we get a rental for two days and our check in time is 4pm. When we arrive to check in there is an AvantStay worker building something in our rental past our check in time he tells me give him 20 minutes for him to finish building it, I proceed to tell him hey I have my newborn and its 100+ degrees outside we would like to sit inside to let our baby cool off, then he tells me no again. Then proceeds to use the kitchen silverware to help open boxes and then tries to to hide it, then on top of this the room is filthy the bed is disgusting peoples hair, bugs, etc the room was not clean whatsoever and I they proceeded to use up my first whole day of our stay cleaning the place and then return 50 dollars. Not very hospitable, and definitely not satisfied ### 1/5 — Be careful. Awful customer service *2024-05-08, version 1.31.0* AvantStay ruined our vacation. We booked a property ten months in advance of a festival to secure lodging in an extremely small town. Five months later, AvantStay emailed us saying our reservation was cancelled due to the property being delisted. Instead of moving us into another property, we were left to fend for ourselves. There were no affordable options available for us to stay anymore, and AvantStay only offered us a 5% discount on booking a new place (which would still mean paying 50% more than we originally did). I’m completely disgusted by how they treat their customers, and even though I’ve had good experiences with them in the past I will never been booking again with AvantStay. Be warned. And Tere, if you’re reading this, thank you for ruining our vacation!!! ### 1/5 — They will charge you extra *2023-11-11, version 1.27.0* Never use this company, they will charge you extra money on top of a $200 cleaning fee just to vacuum. ### 1/5 — AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS *2023-03-30* Please read this. This company is absolutely deplorable. Their customer service is AI and non existent. We rented a property in telluride that was over $1000 a night. The reason we chose it is because it had a spa and sauna. Both of these had major issues. The spa was green and reeked of fish. They finally got it cleaned for the final night. It was not completely clean but we used it anyways. The spas RETURN VALVE did not have a grate over it. It sucked my foot into the pipe and caused a great deal of pain and bruising. It was not easy to remove my foot off the pipe. THIS COULD HAVE DROWNED AND KILLED ANY CHILD UNDER AGE 10. The property was dirty. The sauna had spider webs and did not get hot. This company does not care about their owners or their renters. They are a billion dollar corporation located in Los Angeles. They offered us a small refund. Not even enough to cover dinner for three in telluride. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. The property we are staying at has problems with wifi, tv, parking, ice maker which is very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Avantstay just makes booking a pain. *2023-02-21* I’ve been to two avantstay vrbos now and both times take away from the experience. Booking is more work with verification procedures (not a huge deal) but I also got 3 texts threatening law enforcement because we were too loud. My two children were asleep on the couch next to me at 8:30 in the evening and they started texting. We were not loud at all. I guess there was a noise monitor somewhere in the house. Just dumb stuff I don’t need to worry about. If there are multiple options next trip I’ll be sure to book the one that’s NOT avantstay. Just go away avantstay. I've completely stopped using Google and the broader travel platforms, unless it's somewhere that AvantStay isn't. Can't recommend highly enough! ### 5/5 — Early Spring visit *2026-05-12* We absolutely enjoyed your place! It was comfortable and absolutely quint. Very roomy and clean. Perfect spot if there was more snow to go skiing. Very relaxing and felt like home. We will definitely be booking again! I love how it was close enough to walk to snowboard and down to Main Street. it was truly beautiful and amazing! Thank you. Absolutely a 5 star. ### 5/5 — Exceeded All Our Expectations. *2026-01-21* Our stay at “1 Dreamcatcher” on Folly Beach (off East Ashley Road) was absolutely perfect. From check-in through our entire stay all the way to our checkout we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The beach house we stayed in was clearly designed and appointed by someone who knows how to live at the beach and care for a larger group/family of 10. When we searched for a property using the Avant website filter this beach house was top of the list. We had high hopes & then were very pleasantly rewarded with accommodations that exceeded all our expectations. It was larger and nicer than the photos showed. Plenty of dishes and glasses in ceramic and plastic for our party of 7. Plenty of chairs around tables inside and out. Pool towels, coffee options, extra towels and blankets made it easy. The pool, hot tub, games added to the fun.
