Thank you! After using the old one so long I’m having some learning curve challenges to get best benefits here but have no problems at all. AvareX may not be as feature-rich as some of the most expensive apps, but unlike those, AvareX has a VERY shallow learning curve and has every tool a pilot needs in flight. I recommend this app to my students because it minimizes “head-down” distractions when the student should be looking out the windscreen or at the flight instruments. The fact that AvareX works in both the IOS and Android ecosystems really makes it useful when instructing clients who have adopted “the other” operating system. W.E.D. As I was rebuilding my contact list and apps I realized I wanted to reload Avare, but all I could find was Avare x. So far, I have been unable to do any planning, so I can’t do much else. Help!? Pat O’Renick ### 3/5 — High battery consumption *2026-05-06, version 0.0.102* Flew a 1.3 hour flight and lost 35-40% battery. When compared to my other EFB I would lose maybe 15% for that length of flight. Other than that it works decently good. Little bit of a learning curve knowing where all the bells and whistles are. A bug I noticed is that it cut off the two digits right of the decimal on the altimeter setting while connected to ADSB WX in the airplane. Like it was too many characters for the box that popped up when I clicked on an airport. ### 3/5 — New to AvareX *2025-10-22, version 0.0.66* Just started using the new edition of Avare and my one complaint is I don’t see the Csup that was prevalent in the old one. Searching on KLNK or doing a long click genes a grey screen requiring the program to be restarted. Other aireports seem to be ok. It does most of the basic functions you wouldn’t need when flying. The only reason my review is not five stars is because I find the UI to be pretty inconsistent and a bit clunky to use. Fun to have even if you’re not an aviator but fly on airlines. Get a window seat and use this app to follow your progress in greater detail than the airliner’s moving map.
