They need to either update their description for this app or get rid of the description where it dtates it comes with a free VPN ### 3/5 — Best of a bad lot *2025-09-29, version 25.7.0* I’ve used a number of anti virus / security softwares and AVAST is the best of a bad lot. Anti virus software should work silently in the background and only intrude when needed. Compared to other software Avast is fairly unobtrusive but could be better. The main issues are with the VPNs used for web filtering and providing a secure connection. These often interfere with legitimate safe activities such as accessing local resources on a secure home network. Avast doesn’t have any configuration that allows the user to say “don’t interfere on this network or this service”. As a result you find services on your own network not working unless you turn all Avast VPNs off. This defeats the purpose of having a VPN and forces you to waste time delving into AVASTs settings to toggle the VPN. This issue is not limited to AVAST but means that the product has a significant deleterious impact on device usability. ### 2/5 — Protection at cost of severe battery burn *2025-09-17, version 25.7.0* Happy knowing I have solid protection but at the cost of terrible battery life. Use this app overseas and it used 49% of my devices battery (iPhone 16 pro). So disappointing. App need to be lighter for me to die. Also app will ALWAYS run in the background regardless of settings!!! It never would let me. Just too slow, plus sometimes I have to disengage VPN, otherwise, I cannot log in into the internet AT ALL. AND THE AVAST SECURE BROWSER IS JUST AS SLOW.
