### 4/5 — Avaz is awesome however :(

*2026-06-09, version 8.0.4*

On Avaz, I noticed few things! Rich vocab, lots of features.. or so I thought. The frozen row feature and the vocab presets are all language blocked to US english only. As an Australian AAC user, this really sucks! Why can’t I access frozen row? It’s the most fundamental feature I NEED for AAC along with the vocab presets!? Yes it may be hard to do Australian vocab too BUT I struggle with using the layouts and having to start FROM scratch for big boards. It’s stressful, time consuming and as much as I want to LOVE Avaz, I cannot. Also YouTube intergration is only 5 minutes MAX. This really sucks because most of my stuff is for school, it goes for like 20 minutes more. Besides this, Avaz has good colour coding system and easy customisation but not to where I feel it needs to be.

### 2/5 — It shouldn’t be this hard.

*2026-03-28*

I used to own an account on this on this device specifically with a different email address. When I tried to make a new account on a different device with a different email I just made, it said that I ‘already had an account’ which I didn’t! So then I tried again to make a new account, but it said I already had an account under that email despite it never being used?? It shouldn’t be this hard to make an account or sign in. Please fix this!

### 3/5 — It’s great but glitchy

*2025-12-31, version 8.0.2*

I’ve had abs since October. I really love it. I do wish it was cheaper for a lifetime and one of the issues is it’s telling me it’s 299.99 for the lifetime, but it’s telling my friend it’s only 199.99 and it’s been glitching and freezing but I do really love the app. If you could fix these issues, I really want to buy the lifetime.

### 2/5 — Too expensive.

*2025-11-07, version 8.0.2*

As a person who needs it to communicate it is good and easy to navigate. However, it’s too expensive for me or my family to even afford. What is the out right purpose of this if I is difficult for individuals to afford?
Maybe bring your prices down and I may consider checking it out again. There’s many people out in need but a reliable AAC device, but we can’t really rely upon it if it costs that much.
CRAZY!!!

### 3/5 — Needs to be free

*2025-10-13*

I love this app because you get to customize it and it’s great. The problem is it’s only for free for 14 days, which is not helpful in case you are a person like me who cannot afford to buy a voice

### 3/5 — 50-50

*2025-06-01*

I have had this app for four years I recently uninstalled it, it used to be awesome cuz it WAS FREE you had everything possible than the changed it to were you have to pay :( it’s a good app overall if you have money and willing to give it a try I do recommend if you can I deleted that app because I can’t afford to pay the subscription and the free version of the app doesn’t have the needs that you need like talking, and pictures ect overall i recommend if you can afford it if not give the free a try and if not than get something else for me I’m a big picture person so I need them but if you can just see the words and don’t need pictures than you should be fine (if you don’t care on having a verbal voice lol)

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for sharing your feedback. Avaz is free to try for 14 days. After that, we request users to buy the app so we can continue with better features, provide reliable support and keep improving the app with updates. If you need any help, please write to us at support@avazapp.com. Thank you again!

### 2/5 — I like it but

*2025-04-12*

I love this app it is the best aac app I have used but I can not pay for the subscription after my free trial runs out. It also doesn’t say anything about a free trial on the App Store or when you download the app.

**Developer response:** We're so sorry that you weren't aware of it. Avaz is free for 14 days and there's a subscription post that. We will certainly do our best to communicate this message in a better way. Thank you for the feedback.

### 3/5 — Trial?

*2025-03-29*

I didn’t not know it was a trial version. Wish I knew, yet it was effective in me deciding I might go through with a plan. Prices look great compared to many other apps. I just haven’t purchased one yet. Still usable, but my child prefers his custom pictures (still works after trial) and the talking. Talking was with the trial unfortunately.

Love this app overall!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your wonderful feedback!

Avaz comes with a 14-day free trial so families can explore all features, including the speech output. After the trial, upgrading to a plan unlocks the full features. Your kind words about our pricing is so very nice to read. Have you already considered a plan? If you have any questions or need help choosing the right plan, if not already, please write to us at support@avazapp.com - we’d be happy to help.

### 2/5 — I would have given this four stars, except for one major flaw.

*2025-01-15*

Nowhere in the description does it say that the app isn’t free or has a trial period. But I kept getting told every time I opened the app, that my access to the app would expire. Idk what to do, because the app is amazing but I can’t afford to pay for it if it actually does need a payment or subscription. Can somebody tell me how to get a subscription even though I can’t afford it? I love the app, and would love to keep using it if I could afford it.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your support! We’re glad you love the app. While a subscription is required after the trial, we have a special discount coming in April that might help! Stay tuned, and feel free to reach out to support@avazapp.com for more details.

### 3/5 — misleading free trial, okay otherwise

*2024-05-03, version 6.6.7*

overall a good app, i liked it and had lots of good features, but several issues i ended up noticing, as well as just some features i disliked. i no longer use it, but kept it downloaded in case i ever have the money to fully buy it.

- after my free trial ended the voice stopped working, even after i switched it back to a default voice. i had thought that only the premium voices were paywalled, and the app didn’t tell me why i couldn’t use the voices anymore.

- i downloaded a backup of my boards, and then tried to upload it to test if it worked. it did not process my backup properly, and put all of my old boards into one folder instead of how they were meant to look.

- the only way to copy a sentence without the premium is to download it as an image, which is inconvenient and slow. this is the only way to communicate with it other than showing the screen to someone else.

- sentences can be read with the ios screenreader after the trial is over, but any words that have icons are read after the rest of the sentence. (i.e., the sentence “I want to eat”, where “I” and “eat” have icons, will be read “want to I eat”)

### 5/5 — Voice for my child

*2024-03-12*

Avaz has been a life changer for us. It’s become my daughter’s voice and has reduced her frustration levels to the minimum. It’s use is so easy and child friendly that she’s become a pro at using it by herself at home and at school. Thanks to the super supportive team at Avaz, the journey has been so smooth. Their inputs, guidance, troubleshooting help, and constant interactions with the parents, has made the use of this app a blessing. Highly recommend it to anyone who is facing language, cognitive, speech difficulties.

### 5/5 — Greatest

*2023-12-16, version 6.6.7*

Because there is a new update

### 5/5 — Awesome!! AAC of choice

*2023-09-11*

I lose speech quite often, and I genuinely prefer Avaz to other AAC apps, especially with the subscription option they offer. The layout and organization genuinely makes sense, and isn't too overwhelming or confusing, even at the highest vocabulary level, unlike other apps I've seen. It is unfortunate there's no option to save phrases for later, so you have to type everything on the spot, but that's minor. This app is affordable, the voice options are numerous, and you can customize just about everything, with the exception of some preset words. I would highly recommend checking out! There are also multiple vocabulary levels, as well as a keyboard, AND touch accommodations so you aren't limited in any way. I hope to use this app for years to come :D

**Developer response:** Hello,

Thank you so much for your kind words and detailed feedback. We’re happy to hear that you find Avaz helpful and that you appreciate the layout, organization, and customization options. Your feedback is important.

In the Avaz keyboard mode, You can save and retrieve frequently used messages (phrases / sentences) and customize the same for each individual, based on their preferences and environment. Please read this - https://avazapp.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/1000172659

We’re here for you and look forward to continuing to serve you. Thanks again.

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful and easy to understand

*2023-08-30*

The app is quite easy to understand and navigate. Parents got ray of hope through Avaz for their child communication. Thanks to the app and to the team.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Do not purchase subscription, DOES NOT WORK!

*2026-04-16, version 8.0.4*

They do not warn you that you cannot buy this on your account as the parent, and expect it to work on your kids tablets. You cannot even sign out without deleting an account. So if you buy a lifetime subscription, even if you are logged in with the exact same e-mail, it will not work. Even if you try restoring purchase and using their website for advice. If you reach out to them for support by e-mail, they will not answer. You can expect decent response time for support from other companies, just not this one. It is a simple program they made using software from the 90s and expect to pray on parents by charging $400! Frustrating to pay so much, hoping it would family share (it doesn’t), or sharing a log in would work (it doesn’t), and just left feeling ripped off!

### 1/5 — is good app but not free

*2026-01-22*

am autistic person, no have job to get money. app cost very much money after free trial is only 2 week long. is best aac app ever try before so great but has not able communicate for almost week now becuase free trial ran out have no way to communicate. avaz took my voice away from. don’t get app unless have lot of money. most of disabled people don’t have money like me too and being have to be pay 300 dollar to be able have a voice is sad for make many of us not have any way communicate at all. please make be free. am need to communicate

### 1/5 — internet does not connect with app

*2025-09-14*

i have been trying to do my subscription and always shows error internet not connected . The customer care response also slow .

**Developer response:** We are sorry to note this. Please call +1 (650) 300-4904 or write to support@avazapp.com. We will look into this.

### 1/5 — IS NOT FREE !!!

*2025-03-15*

if you’re poor (like MOST DISABLED PEOPLE ARE) do NOT waste your time w this app. after the free trial ends they will take away the main function & purpose of the app (the speaking ability) and ask for $300. IT IS NOT A GLITCH ! if your audio stopped working it’s because your free trial is up. it takes so long to customize an AAC board just for the entire point of having it to be thrown out the window. these people do not care about accessibility or your needs they care about profiting off of (poor) disabled people. i recommend C board instead. they take away some functions after free trial but the purpose of the app still works great.

**Developer response:** We’re truly sorry and understand how frustrating it must feel to lose access to a feature you rely on. We want Avaz to be as accessible as possible, which is why we also offer discounted pricing twice a year in April and October. Your feedback matters, and we appreciate you sharing it with us. We're available on support@avazapp.com for any assistance.

### 1/5 — Broken after update

*2025-01-08*

I guess there was an update. Now the app crashes every few minutes. Making it unusable.

**Developer response:** Hello, we are very sorry to note this. Can you please write to us at support@avazapp.com with details? Also, please ensure you have updated the app. Thank you!

### 1/5 — Not good

*2024-06-05, version 6.6.7*

Too expensive. Apps like this need a better awareness of the fact that disabled people do tend to have more difficulty financially. Also you can’t use it online two way which is ridiculous for that amount considering so many people interact online now

### 1/5 — Used to be good.

*2023-07-05, version 6.6.6*

My autistic brother used this and we had the free trial just for the " speak" feature, our free trial is up now he refuses to use his AAC as it has changed and he dislikes change.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2023-06-28, version 6.6.6*

I purchased this app 7 years for $99.99 for lifetime and now they want to charge me that every year. They stand by their word.

### 1/5 — Have to pay to use it

*2023-04-25*

You have to pay to use the voice feature I would understand to use the pictures and maybe extra voice but for the entire reason I’m getting it I have to pay no it’s stupid. For anyone looking for any other apps that are like this I recommend spoken it’s like this and free to use

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern about the pictures & voice feature requiring payment. We strive to provide a comprehensive communication tool that offers advanced features to support individuals with diverse communication needs. Nominally priced subscription options enable us to ensure that we can continue developing & supporting the product. We understand that you may prefer to use a free alternative and we respect your decision. We value your feedback and are exploring other pricing options as well. Please feel free to reach out with any further suggestions or concerns. Thank you for your support.

### 1/5 — Won’t have sound after several uses

*2023-01-29*

I really like the app and it’s features but after use it losses “voice” sound. I haven’t been able to fix and have tried on other devices with same problem reoccurring

**Developer response:** Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our app. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing an issue with the "voice" sound. We’re here to help you.

Please feel free to reach out to us at support@avazapp.com with any additional information or questions. We value your feedback and will work to ensure a better experience in future updates.

Best regards,

### 5/5 — The best AAC app

*2026-02-12*

I’m a Pedaitric Speech Language therapist, using Avaz has made AAC so much more accessible to the non verbal children. Customising it to suit the child’s need is also very easy. The icons are clear and easy to understand. Would 100% recommend it

### 5/5 — Happy parent

*2026-02-12*

My son is still in the learning phase. The app itself seems user friendly and easy to use. I will update on his progress with the app in a few months.

The support has been awesome, they helped with some of the initial subscription issues like changing country, restoring purchase on fire tablet etc swiftly as soon as we got in touch. Mr. Debojit was also very patient in answering any queries we had & welcoming to connect more if we needed support in future. 100% recommend.

### 5/5 — Very nasty glitch

*2025-10-28*

Hi, I like your game. It’s really fun and I enjoy creating stories on it. But there is this one glitch, that’s really annoying; I try to find a picture but it freezes the screen! Then, I try to click it it freezes again! It was perfectly fine before you updated it. So this glitch needs to be fixed.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words about Avaz, our AAC app. While it’s not a game, it’s designed to make communication more accessible for those who need an AAC solution. We’re pleased to inform you that the internet pictures are now available again. To access them, all you need to do is update the app from the app store. Once again, thank you for your support. We appreciate it! 😊

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2025-01-23*

I work as a job coach for adults and many have verbal limitations. I was so happy to find this, I’ve only had it an hour but it’s free now. Great job providing accessibility to all!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! Avaz has a monthly, yearly and lifetime subscriptions available. Please reach out to support@avazapp.com for any assistance.

### 5/5 — Need to add more features

*2024-11-27*

Amazing App…it would be great if you add options like adding videos and Images made by users…that would add more reinforcement in Child and will be very helpful to simplify any particular task for speech therapist

**Developer response:** Thank you for the nice ask! We already have the YouTube videos option in Avaz that you may explore and let us know of your feedback. Thanks again!

### 5/5 — Thanks for everything

*2024-09-12*

I would like to thank Avaz team including backend support team which is making this app as a easy to use. They had really good backend team who support us and keep us as first priority.

The most

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-06-24, version 6.6.7*

Great app easy to learn how to use it to contact if you’re having issues with the app thank you so much. My son is already starting to press buttons to communicate. He is non-verbal epileptic autistic intellectual disability 100% on us to do everything. Plus it’s also cheap.

### 5/5 — Excellence at its finest

*2024-04-04*

Avaz has been life changing for not only my son but my entire family. It has opened the lines of communication which has relieved much frustration on my son’s behalf thus resulting in significantly less Self injurious behavior. He has also begun to learn how to speak just by hearing the word repeated to him as he continuously presses the words and hears it spoken out loud to him. As a lifetime member I can tell you their customer service is amazing !!!! They have always with love and care addressed any concerns or any minor issues in a expedited manor. I can’t say enough about this company and recommend it to anyone looking for a AAC device.

**Developer response:** Hi, Thank you for your amazing feedback! We're so happy that Avaz has made such a positive impact on your son and family. We're here for you anytime you need assistance.
