Why the AvAd App Supports Efficient Training

Flight training often involves:
• Searching through binders and PDFs for current procedures

• Recreating flashcards for each phase of training
• Spending paid ground time reviewing material that could be studied in advance

The AvAd App is designed to:
• Provide immediate access to current, standardized procedures
• Present aircraft-specific speeds and checklists in context
• Offer built-in learning tools that support memorization and review
• Centralize reference material in a single searchable app

The goal is simple. Arrive prepared and use instructor time more effectively.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2026.17 — 2026-08-31

Interactive and AvAd Style checklists were added for N46135, N5273R,
N61803 and N242AV. Print Trifold is available for them as well.

Aircraft Updates:
N97MW and N7288Y added to HEF
N5187G and N99872 added to RMN
N83581 moved from HEF to JYO
N7728J and N9272L removed

The AvAd Style checklist buttons now show the name of the checklist they
open, matching the name in the checklist list. The airspeeds, briefings
and frequencies checklist is named for all three wherever it appears, and
the power settings sit with the airspeeds rather than below the
frequencies.

Checklist names are set in bold on the header bar, on screen and on the
printed trifold.

The emergency checklists explain the yellow highlighting once, where the
printed booklet does, rather than on every checklist.

The Document Revision Information list now cites Advisory Circular 61-65K
and links current FAA sources for the contractions order and the runway
safety flashcards.

### 2026.14 — 2026-07-10

New in this version

Flight Review & IPC Helper
A new tool in the Reference tab guides you through a flight review (§61.56) or instrument proficiency check (§61.57(d)) following AC 61-98E. Choose CFI mode to conduct one or Pilot mode to prepare, work through the regulatory review and required ACS tasks, and copy a ready-to-use endorsement template when you're done. Every session is saved, so you can pick up right where you left off the next time you fly together.

Updated aeronautical contractions
The Aeronautical Contraction Search is now current with FAA JO 7340.2P Change 3.

Checklist update
The C172M/N short field takeoff checklists now call for 10° of flaps, matching the procedure guides for these aircraft, with flaps retracted after the obstacle is cleared. This affects N950ME, N5132Q, N5273R, N61803, and N242AV.

### 2026.13 — 2026-05-21

The Hold Pattern Planner & Trainer is available in the Tools section. Enter the holding parameters to get the recommended entry shown on a live racetrack diagram, along with timing, speed limits, and wind correction. Switch to Trainer mode to practice entry determination.

The Aircraft Time Log Assistant received a visual refresh, with clearer section headers, an easier-to-read Hobbs total, and redesigned saved entry cards.

### 2026.12 — 2026-05-17

The N718SR SR22 preflight checklist was updated with brake temperature indicator checks at both main gear and additional nose and cowling inspection items.

### 2026.11 — 2026-04-15

Weather Dashboard now shows the crosswind component and SOP crosswind limit directly in the AvAd minimums comparison for each airport, labeled with the runway being evaluated.

Interactive checklist added for the PA-28R Arrow II (N430AV), including normal, emergency, and briefing procedures.

Modernized the Airplane Flying Handbook (AFH) viewer with improved stability and smoother scrolling. The previous viewer could crash after extended use - the new viewer uses a streamlined PDF engine for a more reliable reading experience.
