The issue with the network is still alive and kicking even to this date. I wish I’d never bought the watch in the first place. I have contacted Gebr. Heinemann and they have confirmed that the apps are no longer supported so the watch has no smart functions anymore. The Bluetooth should still work but if you have logged out of the app then it will not be possible to change any alarms or other features. Other than that we still have a normal watch which requires the button cell to be replaced every couple of years. Without the app, the watch no longer has any of the smart features and is just a standard watch. I saw it in the BA High Life magazine and the smart features looked interesting so thought I’d try it. This is where expectations may diverge from the reality. The inbox instructions were minimal - just a web address scorpioworldwide.com At this website, there is a pdf which can be printed which does explain the watch set up, in conjunction with some video instructions on how to pair the watch with your smart phone. You will also need the Aviator app on your smart phone. I initially got a message about a network failure (that’s all ! So it wasn’t clear if it was the watch or something under my control eg Wifi or Bluetooth). Also there was a message implying it may take a day to sync with the nominated email address. The set up process was time consuming and frustrating. However, all features now seem to be working as expected. You do need the pdf so don’t try and set up without it as it was not intuitive. Now the limitations.......it is linked by Bluetooth to your smart phone. The phone sends an alert/vibration to the watch when the phone receives a call, message, SMS, calendar reminder etc. If your watch is separated from the phone and out of Bluetooth range (5-10m) then the watch does not receive messages ie it is just a watch - do not expect this to be a message centre independent of the phone (as I did initially). As it happens, this works for me (on the train, my phone is in my bag, so it is useful knowing if I have missed anything when I get off the train). There are some simplified functions for steps, distance, calories, sleep (n heart rate). The battery life for a charge lasting 2 hours is about 7 days. Overall, a nice watch, frustrating smart setup, relatively limited smart functions, but I do like it. ### 4/5 — Good basic app *2017-05-17, version 1.2.3* Pretty good basic app. Would be good if the app showed monthly totals also instead of having to touch every day and count the miles/steps etc. ### 3/5 — Sync problems as usual.
