Who knows? You might be next door to someone requiring CPR - right now - but you won’t know until you hear the sirens arrive, and then it’s too late. When 911 operators suspect someone is in cardiac arrest and determine that CPR and an AED might be helpful, they can initiate an alert notifying nearby rescuers - those with the Avive™ App - that someone needs help. Responders receive a push notification alerting them to the emergency. When the alert is accepted, the Avive App provides a map of how to reach the sudden cardiac arrest victim as quickly as possible. Details of the response, such as which responders accept the alert and are making their way to the victim, are shared with 911 telecommunicators to aid in the rescue attempt. The Avive App comes with a free online training course on how to assess a victim, when and how to perform CPR, and how to use a life-saving AED. Citywide Alerts will notify you of all SCA emergencies within your selected 4 Minute City. Or, by choosing Custom Alert Zones, you can choose specific areas where you want to receive alerts - places like your home, school, and work. ### 1.5 — 2023-05-26 We have updated the way we check if a responder is close enough to respond to an emergency. Responders in participating 4-Minutes Cities will receive a push notification of a nearby emergency alert. Depending on your location, when you open the push notification you will see a screen that checks your location again to verify that you are within a mile of the emergency and are close enough to respond to the emergency and provide CPR.
