## What is AvTools?

AvPics (formerly QC Pics) is professional photo QC and inspection documentation for aviation parts companies — built for the receiving dock, the inspection bench, and the shipping table. Part of the AvTools platform.

START WITH A SCAN
Scan an order barcode (or type an ID) and the batch names itself. Shoot in sequence with glove-sized controls, one-tap zoom presets, and photo-type chips — General, Data Plate, Serial Number, Defect — right at the shutter.

PHOTOS THAT HOLD UP LATER
Every photo keeps its exact shutter order through review, reports, and your ERP. Burn a timestamp watermark into each shot, enforced company-wide by admin policy. Flag defects and annotate them on the spot.

SYNC YOU CAN VERIFY
Honest per-photo status shows exactly what has reached the cloud. Push a batch to your ERP, then tap its status to list the files actually attached in AvSight — names, sizes, timestamps, and a deep link to the record. Offline-first for hangar and field environments: capture without a network and sync when you're back.

AUDIT-READY DOCUMENTATION
Generate timestamped PDF inspection reports with photos in capture order, tag batches by inspection stage (Receiving / In-process / Outgoing), and attach reports straight to the ERP record — designed to support regulated aviation documentation processes.

QC STATION MODE
Mount an iPhone over the bench and stream its camera live to the AvTools web portal on your local WiFi — the inspector frames and fires from their workstation.

WHO IT'S FOR
- Aircraft parts distributors and suppliers
- Repair stations and MRO operations
- Aviation maintenance organizations
- Quality control inspectors

AvPics is built for operational use inside aviation businesses: company workspaces, roles, shared inspection stages, and company branding on reports. It connects to AvSight and Smart145.

Access is provided to authorized users through organization-managed accounts. For onboarding, contact sales@avtools.aero.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-08-15

QC Pics is now AvPics — same app, new name, now part of the AvTools platform. Your account, batches, and settings carry over untouched.

A NEW LOOK, BUILT FOR THE SHOP FLOOR
• Complete visual overhaul: dark by default for bright hangars, high-contrast safety-amber accents, and bigger glove-friendly controls on every screen
• Prefer it bright? A light "day hangar" theme is in Settings → Appearance

CAPTURE
• Photos keep their exact shutter order everywhere — review, PDF reports, and your ERP
• Optional timestamp watermark baked into every photo, with company-wide policy enforcement for admins
• Decluttered camera: one-tap zoom presets (1×–5×), exposure tucked behind an EV toggle, and photo-type chips right at the shutter

SYNC AND ERP YOU CAN TRUST
• Honest per-photo sync status — the app shows exactly what has reached the cloud, batch by batch
• Tap a batch's status to verify what is actually attached in AvSight: file names, sizes, timestamps, and a link straight to the record
• Uploads, PDFs, and ERP pushes now survive app updates and missing local files by falling back to the cloud copy

INSPECTION STAGES AND REPORTS
• Tag batches Receiving / In-process / Outgoing — stamped on reports and filenames, and shared with the AvTools portal
• Pull the portal's official inspection report from Review Batch and attach it to the AvSight record in one step
• Per-photo defect reports are now proper PDFs you can share or upload

### 1.4 — 2026-05-27

What's new in 1.4
*Redesigned navigation — Streamlined from 4 tabs to 3. Home shows your stats and full batch list in one place. Capture is front and center. ERP config moved to Settings where it belongs.
*9x faster photo capture — Compression and timestamp baking now run in the background. The shutter re-enables in ~200ms instead of ~1.8s, so you can fire off photos as fast as you can tap.
*4,600 lines of dead code removed — 8 unused screens deleted. Smaller bundle, cleaner codebase.
*Bug fixes — Fixed global error handler that was swallowing real errors. Fixed stale navigation routes. Security hardening on photo DB updates.

### 1.3 — 2026-05-12

Version 1.3

NEW: Timestamp every capture
Burn the time directly into the photo, show a live clock during capture,
and watermark PDF reports. Choose your format (ISO, US, EU, Long) and
timezone (Eastern / Central / Mountain / Pacific / London / Paris /
Singapore / UTC / Device). Admins can lock a company-wide policy for
audit-defensible records.

IMPROVED: PDF reports
• Aspect ratio preserved — no more squashed landscape photos
• Photos render in the order you captured them
• 4× more pixel detail so data plates and serial numbers stay legible
  at full zoom

FIXED: Photo viewer
Pinch-to-zoom, two-finger pan, and double-tap-to-reset now work in the
full-screen photo viewer. Previously the FlatList ate the gestures —
fixed by routing through the gesture-handler-aware list.

FIXED: Navigation
• Discarding a batch returns you to Home
• Dashboard tiles (Pending / Done / Queue / Issues) jump straight to
  the right batch list
• Photo Quality picker works inline from Settings (was opening a screen
  that didn't exist)
• Deep links use the correct routes (Reports, ERP, SharePoint paths
  fixed)

IMPROVED: Sign-in
• Password reset links open the app cleanly using a secure single-use
  handoff
• iOS Password autofill recognizes jassco.net credentials

SECURITY
Multiple under-the-hood hardening fixes: cryptographically secure
pairing codes for QC Station, sanitized error logging (no tokens in
device logs), HTTPS-only password reset, stricter deep-link validation,
and a Supabase RLS policy that prevents cross-company subscription to
QC Station broadcast channels.

• Aspect ratio preserved — no more squashed landscapes

• 4× more pixel detail so data plates and serial numbers stay legible at full zoom
