It works fine in the Android version. It does not currently work on Apple. Can select start, stop, but when you hit the download arrow, nothing happens. No help option when it throws errors, just leave you with the error message ### 1/5 — The Best of 1995 *2023-10-17, version 7.12.43* This has to be the saddest mobile app I’ve ever used for a security camera system. Other brands allow you to manage/adjust devices within the app but Axis requires you to do so on a Windows computer. Notifications are useless and even the app icon is generic clip art. There are no options for smart notifications, package/movement detection, or any of the features commonly available on cameras 1/10th of the price. Axis really needs to invest in their software to be competitive in 2023. ### 3/5 — サムネイルが欲しい *2023-09-08, version 7.11.153* 集合住宅に2台設置しました。 他メーカーの防犯カメラ用アプリと比べて、難点はサムネイルがない事。 背景に常に車や人が動いている場所なのでほぼ24時間録画していますが、サムネイルがないので目当ての録画部分を探すのには手動で少しずつ送るしか無く、とても面倒です。 是非、サムネイル表示できるようにしてください。 お願いします。 ### 2/5 — Connectivity problems *2023-07-28, version 7.11.153* For years now, axis companion has constant connectivity issues when using over internet. Unreliable WAN connection, period. Constant connection time outs. Sad that even my Foscams do better now. It’s to the point that I’m beginning to think it’s intentional. The whole point of us using Companion is to do the nat transversal to connect to the remote cam with ease, but either it’s glitching on purpose or all ISP’s make direct data streams time out 80% of the time. Well Axis, if zerotier and other products have no issue keeping a connection alive for months and years on end with any isp, why can’t you let me connect? I’ll take a slower connection but let me see what is going on at home if I’m being burglarized or not without having to try to connect a million times. And my ISP is great everything works and is fast, don’t give me excuses about my connection. It’s Axis! NAT does not work reliably to this day. Pathetic when even the Chinese Foscam now fixed this and connects twice as fast and five times more consistently. ### 2/5 — Don't torture yourself *2023-07-22, version 7.11.153* I'm on the same network. All recorded camera videos are 10-20 minutes delayed on the app! I can use a browser and review something that just happened, but I can't zoom in the browser. 20 minutes later and the iOS app STILL doesn't list the footage, so I can't review it. REALLY? ### 2/5 — Remote playback times out or is extremely slow *2023-05-23, version 7.11.124* Inside the network, playback video loads quickly without issue. However, when playing remotely, I almost always get “We lost the connection. Try again” error. This happens across all of our sites. I’ve also requested features over the years that never seem to happen. Why the Camera Station has features that Companion doesn’t and vice versa is beyond me. Having the ability to receive Axis Radar alerts/events from the app would be huge. Also not sure why you don’t get the additional PTZ options such as wiper, heater, etc. from the companion app. ### 1/5 — Can’t rewind? *2023-04-03, version 7.11.61* Used to be able to rewind video. When I'm on the same network as my camera, I can quickly access the cameras from the app. When I'm off the network, connecting is a complete nightmare. The connection keeps dropping, and I can't control the cameras remotely at all. There's no issue with the connection itself; what I don't understand is why the app doesn't provide any notification about this. ### 1/5 — Q6128E nicht unterstützt *2025-11-16, version 8.3.4* Axis hat companion classic eingestampft und station Edge unterstützt meine Kamera nicht, obwohl noch Garantie bis 2026 ! Das ist unterirdisch Axis !! ### 1/5 — Camera bricked *2025-07-21, version 8.3.2* As Axis decided to discontinue the companion app, I was forced to switch to station edge. Needless to say that demounting the camera and performing hard resets is not a pleasant experience. That said, proceeding as suggested by the Acis manual finally ended up in an error message „wrong password“. One needs to assign the camera to the app for changing password, but in order to add it, you need a peassword. Boom. Classical ringfencing deadlock. I was planning to upgrade my home security, and am now certainly switching to another manufacturer. ### 1/5 — P12 camera *2025-07-13, version 8.3.2* Not possible to install P12 cameras (sd card) without a extra recorder ### 1/5 — Update doesn’t rewind footage *2025-05-14, version 8.3.0* The new update made it to where you can’t rewind the cameras. That was a very important feature that I used frequently. Seit kurzen funktioniert App anmeldung gar nicht mehr es werden nur noch Codes geschickt mit denen man nichts anfangen kann. Man muss leider ausgebildeter Itler zur erfolgreichen Installation sein. Die Hardware ist somit unbrauchbar. However, as an integrator and systems engineer, there are definitely some things missing that I would consider to be very basic features and should be rather easy to implement. There should be a way to toggle analytic events to be recorded/tagged, but without having to send a mobile notification. Especially in a multi-analytic scenario application. Sure, you may want to be able to search and reference events from scenario 1 on a camera, but not necessarily have a mobile notification sent every single time. However, you may want to be notified about scenario 2. As it is now’s it’s all of none per camera. The capability should be there to toggle alerts on/off as desired without effecting ANY functionality of the actual system.
