### 2/5 — Will not find AXIS cameras

*2021-10-25, version 1.6.24*

I’ve tried repeatedly to add access cameras on my net work and it won’t find them and it won’t add them manually either something in a recent update broke functionality

### 3/5 — Missing standard features

*2019-06-19, version 1.6.19*

Most PTZ cameras support position presets. The app doesn’t support presets, or zoom capabilities.

### 3/5 — Can’t zoom

*2018-05-20, version 1.6.0*

I can use the app to move my AXIS camera, but I can’t zoom with it.

**Developer response:** Hi Aftrfx - thank you for the feedback. The Zooming feature is currently not supported by the OWLR app. We are busy making changes that might make this a reality soon. Please visit our Forum, suggest this feature and vote for it to be prioritised. If you need any further help, please send us an email to support@owlr.com.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2017-02-06, version 1.2.0*

When adding a camera, the app (in fact all apps from this company) just ask me for a domain name and port for my camera. It - of course - fails to connect since my camera is protected by a username and password yet I am not asked to supply this information. Which serious company assumes no security? The app is hence completely useless.

### 1/5 — Can't login to cameras

*2016-12-15, version 1.0.5*

I have two axis cameras and can't login using this app. States invalid credentials. No problem using other apps or programs. Verified I am using correct account/ password.

### 5/5 — Mr

*2016-11-30, version 1.0.5*

App is easy to use and dependable. Best App I have found for multiple Axis cameras!

### 5/5 — Easy setup

*2016-09-24, version 1.0.4*

I have tried a bunch of these 'easy to use ' IP camera viewers but this one truly works! I film the services at my hutch and needed a way to adjust the camera angles remotely. This app installed quickly even though I have my cameras on static IP addresses. Great app

### 5/5 — Connectivity

*2016-08-24, version 1.0.2*

Easy and Effortless

### 5/5 — Painless setup and great performance

*2016-05-29, version 0.9.13*

Very clean user interface. Looking forward to the iPad version. Hope it can stream h264 because mjpeg is a bandwidth hog.

### 5/5 — I love your App

*2016-05-17, version 0.9.13*

thanks guy for such a good work. The design and the setup method is so easy. I would recommend this App to every one.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn't work with my cams

*2023-01-30, version 1.6.25*

And no, I'm not interested in helping make it work. First, you don't need Administrator access to my cameras. Second, I know the password is correct, yet it constantly fails, even as an Administrator. Deleting as soon as this review is posted.

### 1/5 — No modern camera support & odd permissions

*2022-07-08, version 1.6.25*

Years ago this was a great app but it no longer works with any modern axis firmware from about the past 5 years. Contacted support about this and got a very generic response saying the camera isn’t supported but might be supported which didn’t help at all. Asked for more info and was ignored entirely. Also, app demands you give it location permissions even though this is in no way necessary to load a camera feed and wasn’t until they updated the app to demand it. You can’t do anything in app unless you approve. That seems really sketchy.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t recognize username and password

*2022-02-21, version 1.6.25*

I can log in to my cameras directly through a browser, but enter those same credentials in their app, and it says it’s wrong. It found the cameras on my network just fine. This is obviously an app issue. Now I have to change my IP addresses and passwords just in case this app is sniffing for credentials. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — No support for encrypted passwords

*2019-06-23, version 1.6.20*

The program could be nice, but I cannot log into my Axis cameras. The program does not support Encrypted Passwords.
It support old plain password, meaning the password would be sent as plain password. Encrypted password, would create a hash, and that hash would be sent, basically there is no way to reconstruct the original password.

Since I cannot use the program, it would be a one star review. I hopped this would be fixed, but after two years, nothing.
Other programs support encrypted passwords. I use IPCamView Pro, but it's not good. Does not handle setting F/s or view size. Ugly interface.

The best IP Camera program is only on Android :(. It's tinyCam Pro. Amazing program. All functions I need. Here on iOS, all IP programs are a joke. Too bad the developer does not port it's app to iOS.
I do not use Android...

### 1/5 — Just doesn't work

*2019-01-03, version 1.6.14*

I am even wondering if this is spyware. It grabs credentials and just says failed to connect.

**Developer response:** Persistent User - Thank you for the feedback. Please send us a message using the In-App feedback feature of the OWLR App and we will be able to assist you promptly. We would like to know what specific camera make and model you are trying to use and we will probe this further. Looking forward to your email.

### 1/5 — Should never be marketed as an Axis specific App.

*2018-09-05, version 1.6.3*

The Axis IP camera line consists of over 30 product lines with around 200+ cameras and according to OWLR’s own “supported cameras” page (as of 9/18) their Axis ‘specific’ App works with .... wait for it .... 5 cameras - and that’s not saying how ‘well’ it works with those 5 cameras.

How this could ever be released as an Axis Camera App blows me away. OWLR should be ashamed of itself. Just pull the App and quit wasting all of our time.

**Developer response:** Hey pscarnegie, we support Axis cameras with the authorisation of Axis! We are constantly improving our user experiences by constantly updating the app.

### 1/5 — Amcrest added- keeps forgetting password

*2018-07-03, version 1.6.0*

The app itself isn’t bad, but it keeps forgetting my password. I need to reenter it before I can see the picture. This happens with 3 different cameras. (All amcrest 841-w). W is just the color.

Edit: i received a response for this review, however if only your app doesn’t work, it’s probably your app. I use another app now, and it works fine, no need to reenter the password each time.

**Developer response:** Hi Sad reviewer. The OWLR app is designed to give the client total control over their personal data, including the password. In light of this view, the app (OWLR) does not store nor retrieve the client's password.

If you have lost or forgotten your username or password, you will need to reset your camera to its factory defaults. Instructions on how to do so can be found here: https://owlr.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1109842. You can then delete and rediscover the camera.

We hope this settles the matter, but if it doesn't, kindly send us an email to support@owlr.com.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2017-12-10, version 1.5.4*

Worked until it was "updated". Like most software apple related ........ Its worthless now.

**Developer response:** Sfbbgfjjregrm - you have used the 1.5.4 app - have you checked the newest version? And can you please send us a Feedback through the app to find out what happened? We are here to help. Others, send an email to support AT owlr dot com and we can work with you to resolve this.

### 1/5 — New version broke

*2017-08-08, version 1.4.0*

New update not working. Only a few cameras can be seen. Image times out after few seconds. Looks like new version is broken, last version worked fine

**Developer response:** Hi Mark,

I'm very sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with the latest update.

If you could please send an in-app feedback message to our customer support with a short description of the issue, we'll do our best to help you resolve the problems.

Kind regards,

Harry

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2017-03-18, version 1.2.0*

I can view the camera via browser, simple IP and default port 80 default password and username. The app discovers a camera on my network but continues to say I have the wrong username and/or password. Other third party apps connect to it just fine.
