In less than a week I’ve been able to listen to hours of lectures no matter where I am. I’m starting with the basics and moving on to the more advanced and plan to eventually listen to them all. The app is easy to navigate and find high quality source material on a wide variety of topics of interest — ethics, theories of knowledge, capitalism, logic, the role of emotions, human happiness and flourishing, education and teaching resources, etc. There are lecture courses, videos, and articles from Ayn Rand as well as scholars who have spent many years studying her philosophy. There is supposed to be a university? All I get is an ad/intro that drones on endlessly with no apparent link to anything, no means to get rid of it or out of it and no path to anything. For example, in the History of Philosophy course, I used to be able to see slides but these don’t display anymore. ### 2/5 — Horribly buggy *2019-07-06* I suppose to be fair, the fact that i can listen to the audio with my screen closed is a neat feature but this highly offset by the fact i can't finish a single course because of the number of glitches. I start a course and then a lecture will crash and I'll have to find a way to restart the lecture and by that time i have lost my spot. I am not sure why it is prompting me to download when all it seems to be doing is some 'pseudodownload' that takes 5 sec. If it were really downloading onto my phone, at least i could find it in my download folder and use it with another app or iTunes. ### 3/5 — Great Content, Buggy App *2024-10-03, version 2.4* I’m running ios 18 on iphone 16 and the app is very buggy. If I pause the video i’m listening too when the app in in the background (i’m using other apps) the app resets and i have to reload the entire app and find the video again, this makes it difficult to use unless you just have the app open the whole time. Also the UX is pretty poor, active area of the buttons needs to be bigger, it takes me several attempts to hit the back button or search button for example. This is simple stuff, please fix this, don’t let this amazing service go stale with lack of updates, this is a great way to onboard people to objectivism, don’t loose them due to a negative experience with the app! We have a hard enough time as it is presenting ideas. Please update this app regularly! Also the app logo has a very slight white boarder which is obviously not meant to be there (they must have slightly updated the app shape and now it doesn’t quite fit the format) it looks amateurish to not update this, these details matter when presenting something as serious as Objectivism. If my feedback is valued by ARI i have more to share if there is a demand for it. Keep up the great work ARI, don’t let these small details prevent this app from being an incredible platform! I see it has not been updated for 4 years, this would be a great opportunity to add the ayn rand chatbot as a feature as well, what i would give for an Ayn Rand Ai widget i could have on my home screen… ### 3/5 — Useful material, broken app *2022-03-09* Half the time, when you switch to another app and come back, the app does not keep your place in a course—or even recall the course you were in. For example, the lock screen has back/forward buttons but instead of going back/forward 30 seconds it skips to the previous/next episode. It also has difficulty keeping track of where you are in a file. The content is excellent. I’ve spent many hours listening to the material, and have gone through many of the courses. The material is just fantastic, and there is really no other place to get the lectures of Ayn Rand, Leonard Peikoff, Harry Binswanger, Onkar Ghate, Tara Smith, Keith Locktich etc. It has become my go-to application for philosophical content, and I’ve found myself re-playing some of the material more than once! But I’m having trouble with running the application. There could be some improvements in how the app remembers where you are (it seems to work sometimes, not reliably). Also, it is sometimes difficult to move the cursor to move to a particular point - which I find myself having to do because the app doesn’t know where I am in a lecture. The real problem, that prompted this review: This week, as I was going through Leonard Peikoff’s OTI (wow), around lesson #6, I couldn’t get it to load. Now it looks like the entire course won’t load ... frustrating, since I was right in the middle of the “induction of Objectivity”. I’ve noticed that the course on “Logic” also has the same problem ... what’s going on? Other material seems to play normally. As a last resort, I’ve deleted the application because it seemed to be using too much memory. I will now try to reload the application and restart it. ### 5/5 — Priceless, ad free, life changing *2019-08-18* Insightful, elucidating lectures and speeches from the brightest minds in philosophy.
