The first Azkend game has amazing replayability, and I’ve been playing it on and off for years. This one I feel there is too much emphasis on story line, and timed puzzles for it to have that kind of longevity. TBH it was a relief to have finished it, and I don’t think that’s the sort of reaction you want from a game. ### 4/5 — Awesome and unique game *2019-09-11* So glad to find a unique match 3 game like this, with no IAP, thank you, developer! Very beautifully designed. The only thing I don’t like is that it’s landscape only (the original Azkend is portrait, much easier to hold and match). Still, that’s not a dealbreaker. This game is super well designed and challenging and fun. ### 4/5 — In fine tradition *2018-02-09* Loved what they kept the same, love what they changed. Story is fun and art is beautiful. Good sound track too. The new added game types are extremely fun. Not giving it 5 stars because I beat it without losing (so not challenging enough) and only took a few hours. So changing one of those two I’d change my rating to 5. Not every game is relaxing. If you're finding it too difficult, do like the game says and try different active and lassie power ups. My only complaint is that the game is so short! I beat it in a few days of casual play. The first Azkend seemed much, much longer. Much more difficult than the original. Don't go in unawares. Great game just 50% more frustrating than the first one. Still great polish and good mechanics though. And the story is so short it's pathetic that the developers didn't add more. Version 2, however, even after all of the updates, is way too difficult and time-limiting to be enjoyable for me. I'm just not into that. I like relaxing games. ### 1/5 — Frustrating Gameplay *2013-06-16* I enjoyed the adventure mode mostly but 2 things make this a game to avoid. Some levels are going to be lost from the beginning. On multiple occasions I had maps where there was only 1 valid move and then the map would regenerate. What is worse is that sometimes the newly generated map had the same issues. Then on the medals gameplay, you can lose the ability to win the medal with no explanation of why. Randomly the medals get disabled for the level. ### 1/5 — えっ？ *2013-06-07* これだけ？的な… ### 1/5 — Huge letdown from the original *2012-03-24* I absolutely loved the first one but wow, can you say Major Disappointment?? This new version is frustrating beyond belief. The power ups just aren't fun and you barely get to use them because putting together chains longer than 4-5 rarely happens. And when a tile matching game has to "reshuffle" as much as this does you know something is wrong. I couldn't out the first one down, quite literally. I lost interest in azkend 2 after about 1/3 of the game. It's just not fun. ### 2/5 — Very Annoying *2015-01-13, version 1.2.1* It doesn't seem like the tutorial is ever done. Each level of the game seems to start out with a hint or tutorial. I figure once the original tutorial is done, I know how to play the game. If something different comes to the game, a tutorial is nice. When it's just match 3, I don't need a lesson each time. ### 2/5 — Can't play with one hand! *2014-09-29, version 1.2.1* Azkend was a very simplistic game that was good for killing some time while standing on the subway or in line at the post office. One of the key benefits to that game was that it's easily playable with one hand. Azkend 2 is in landscape mode for some reason. Why? It therefore requires two hands. Azkend 2 does look much nicer with higher resolution graphics. But I deleted it right away because it's in landscape mode. Oh well. ### 2/5 — Glücksspiel *2013-06-08* Schade, aber das Spiel überzeugt mich leider in keinem Aspekt. Die Story zieht mich nicht in den Bann, und das Spiel selbst ist viel zu sehr auf Zufall und Glückselemente ausgelegt. Power-Ups werden fast mit dem ersten Level eingeführt und bereits nach dem dritten Level hat man eine Kombination aus 2 Power-Ups, Tesla-Coils und Board-Elemente (Feuer, Eis, Käfer) auf einem viel zu kleinen Spielfeld, welche ein reines Glücksspiel daraus machen. Außerdem wechseln sich sehr einfache mit sehr schwierigen Leveln viel zu schnell ab, es ist keine graduelle Steigerung spürbar. Gameplay is challenging and there's a lot of strategy involved in picking the correct items best suited for each level. Getting stuck on a level is frustrating, but switching up equipment in your inventory usually is the key to passing the level. I still like the 1st version best but this one is pretty close. I first saw Azkend 1 on a friends ipad & loved it so much that I bought an ipad mini. So that tells you much I like the game. Now if they only would come out with a Azkend 3 it would make my day. Good work 10 Tons Ltd. ### 5/5 — An excellent successor *2013-06-15* For the longest time, I was put off by reviews that were saying just how difficult and frustrating this game is. It seems the game has been balanced since then, because Azkend 2 is truly excellent. I'll be clear: if you want a relaxing match game, Azkend 2 is not for you. (It can be frustrating at times, as you really need to vary your powerups, much moreso than the first game.) That said, if you want a challenging, beautiful match game with excellent music and nicely varied goals (much more so than the first Azkend), then you've found your game. EDIT: just finished the game last night...and went back and started it over again (you get to keep your power ups!), as well as working on the medals. On the whole, some of the levels maybe feel a bit too hard (bug levels on a small grid were quite challenging), in that they require as much luck as skill...but no board took me more than a dozen tries....and it makes the payoff all the more rewarding. Difficult, but not impossible (Jewel Quest vs levels, I'm looking at you). Really addictive game. Storyline seems to be derived from a kind of Tomb raider, which is a bit dumb for a puzzle/logic game. And a REALLY stupid voice-over, with the worst dialog I've ever heard.
