Will not integrate login with Apple iOS Touch ID fingerprint Face ID OR Apple iOS password storage manager. Frequently the login server fails. The old Sdsu ARC process was entering a five digit pin. Very simple and didn’t require cell phone, buggy reader, buggy software , authentication server and cell network connection. This fiasco is a solution in search of a problem. No other health club works like this. Some health clubs gyms user s bar code on a key ring tag. ### 1/5 — Terrible! *2022-06-26* Force Closes all the time. That eliminates the need to type in a password ### 1/5 — The worst *2025-08-17* I hate this app. It’s literally the worst app I use. But you have to use it, it’s the only way to access the gym. It logs you out randomly. Won’t remember passwords. Won’t use Face ID. Won’t run well on old phones. You can literally be walking to the gym and have your bar code queued up. Then you come in the door, unlock your phone, and the app has logged you out. I use this app for one purpose only, just to get into the gym. It’s fails miserably at this basic task. This past weekend I came all the way over to the gym and it’s closed. I open the app to see if there’s any notice and sure enough, there’s a little in-app notification of the closure. How come it didn’t raise that notification to the phone? ARC is awesome. This app is garbage. Please fix it. ### 1/5 — Max opens but does not connect . That eliminates the need to type in a password ### 1/5 — Usability needs to improve *2023-03-05* As others have mentioned, the UI is super cluttered and for some reason there’s this cheesy animation before you even get to the main screen. Secondly, the features that are personal to you, like group fitness registration, requires the app to pass authentication data to the ARC website, which means you need to enable activity tracking for the app. If you have “Allow apps to request to track” toggled off in your Security settings, the app is automatically denied (this is by design). However, even if you toggle the feature on, the app won’t ever attempt to ask for permission again — it’ll just give you an error message. So, you basically have to uninstall the app and reinstall it to have it ask you to track your activity so that you can register for group fitness classes on the app and other features that require your authentication data to be passed to their website. ### 1/5 — Annoyingly Inconvenient *2023-03-03* The main function everyone uses on this app is getting into the gym. Why do I have to go past an incredibly slow animation to get to the barcode? Make it on the first page. And stop logging everyone out please. Its annoying after the 5th time in a month. ### 1/5 — worse than old app *2022-07-18* i’d give it a 0 if i could old app immediately opened to the barcode, this one i have to wait for a stupid loading animation before i can open the barcode to scan. also this new app logs me out all the time so i have to keep relogging in everytime i want to use the app to scan myself into the arc. stupid app. app designers have definitely never used the app themselves or thought about how the app presents itself to the user. ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Go gym *2024-01-20* I go gym and get pump. I didn’t expect such an incredible experience, but truly I’ve found a new home in the Aztec Recreation app. I met my wife on this app, had kids on this app, developed life skills most people would only dream of. Thank you to the powers above for creating such an artistic expression of gym entry ### 5/5 — Favorite app *2022-05-15* I use this app every day and the barcode is so handy to have. Amazing and cool app. ### 2/5 — Crashes, super slow *2023-03-03* I always see a group of students standing around on their phone before the gates trying to get their barcode. It takes forever to get the barcode. It crashes all the time. It gives me an error code. And you can’t even screenshot it to avoid the logging in/app mess because the gates won’t let you in.
