All I ever get is the little spinning wheel. So app is worthless. Been like this for months. ### 2/5 — Many issues *2026-08-01, version 4.6.1* Warning! I thought i would give this app a chance and choose the two week free trial, but unfortunately it charged me straight away so I guess the two week trial was simply false marketing?! When using the app I can’t even create a route. The app gets stuck when I click the route button. ### 2/5 — Very buggy App *2026-07-18, version 4.6.1* I wish I could’ve shared this information through support, but there is no support communication option for the companion app according to the knowledge base and any information posted in the app support link provided here. The app is extremely buggy the icon a circle that represents my position often just doesn’t show up every time you touch the screen. Often when touching the screen to zoom or move it thinks you’re putting a mark down. Most of the function in the UI is just not well planned and up to par with so many other Apple apps. I am hopeful that B&G will make a proper investment and get this app up to snuff. ### 3/5 — Latest Update *2026-06-25, version 4.6.1* The latest update this month , June 2026, keeps crashing on my iPad. It seems fine on the phone. iPad and iPhone are both running the latest iOS. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work well on my iPhone *2026-06-16, version 4.6.0* If I tap on the screen there’s in no option to Goto. I only get an option of creating a route which makes the point I have selected to goto the start point! Also when I turn the map to work out which direction my track is the mini compass turns the wrong way so it’s not showing North at all! I have no idea what’s it’s pointing to and it turns green or red or a shadow and means nothing at all! Very frustrating clunky and very hard to use. The app is not intuitive, and seems to do the opposite of what you would expect! (Goto, deleting old tracks and synching with my chartplotter) My map is cluttered with old tracks that I can’t seem to hide. They also cannot be deleted without going through the 3 dots instead of an option to directly delete which took 10 minutes to figure out. Why is it so difficult?? Even attempting to give feedback via the app doesn’t work as the send button gives me an unknown error and shades out the send button…! Gah!! ### 3/5 — Needs some improvement *2026-06-07, version 4.6.0* In the iOS app I dislike the following:- 1) The way it automatically zooms in and out after touching the overlay and function buttons, I would prefer it not keep zooming in and out. 2) despite map rotation the system goes back to map rotation, I would much prefer the ability to lock rotation until I decide otherwise. 3) I have depth set to metres, as a result the distance defaults to metres and kilometers, I want distance in nautical miles and depth in metres (the Zeus chart plotter allows this, so why not the app?). 4) the system often freezes after touching map overlay or plan or home. I like the plan features, map overlays (though satellite imagery is not very clear in places). ### 3/5 — Wonky kind of app *2026-05-12, version 4.6.0* Bugs. Like in the weather layer the wind arrows are pointing backwards. Not very intuitive, hard to navigate. Otherwise outs ok. For example try routing to Messina in west Sicily. Even the feedback option in the App does not present well or work. Start the app: Crashes. Over and over. Then a message says something about downloading offline maps; crashes again as soon as I say yes. Synchronise with onboard Zeus S chart plotter… good luck! Maybe a month later today’s track will sync. I just updated the software on my Zeus S chart plotter…. only to find that the ‘race’ options have disappeared. B&G is now a toy system for inshore power boats. ### 1/5 — Routes will not save *2026-01-08, version 2.5.4* 4 months later and still no fix. They appear not to care at all. ### 2/5 — Crashes - unusable in IOS26.2 *2025-12-14, version 2.5.4* I updated to IOS 26.2 and now this app no longer works. I have had many problems with this app over the years. It is not the most intuitive of the sailing apps. I recommend Garmin Navionics. Much more intuitive, faster, and stable with more features. B&G just doesn’t seem to put much effort into their app. I am guessing it will die off. ### 1/5 — $%(^($@$ App I’ve ever used *2025-12-03, version 2.5.4* This app crashes constantly, I’m on a brand new 13” iPad Pro. I’ll download it use it a bit, the next day it crashes constantly. The only fix is delete the whole app and reinstall. How is this supposed to be acceptable for sailing and cruising this is pure BS. This app has been like this over a year how can I trust this company if they can’t even do the little things. Also, basic navigation and route planning is extremely glitchy. I don’t think I’d trust this at all. It crashes you can’t see forecasted weather along the route based on your plan. Basic features that an App from B&G should have. Other apps made by private people are much better. A lot of issues with the GPS signals while other apps run at the same time don’t have. I wish I could be reimbursed. Can you hear me??? The worst upgrade I have ever done ### 1/5 — Crash all the time *2026-07-06, version 4.6.1* The app crash all the time on iPhone 16 iOS 26.5 ! ### 1/5 — App on new iPad *2026-07-01, version 4.6.1* Can’t even open the app on my iPad without it crashing over and over. Very dangerous. First my Zeus 3 plotters (3 of them) jam then the app crashes on the back up iPad. I’ve spent a fortune on this product and expected good functionality. ### 1/5 — Impossible to update Vulcan chart-plotter *2026-06-18, version 4.6.1* Lousy app , confusing and often crashing . B& G instruments are not updating from this App . When you connect to the instrument thru WiFi the updates are either not there or buried deep in a hellish menu when it should be obvious or happen automatically. Try “ savy-navy “ as a chart plotter ; much better interface . This App reminds you why Apple is what it is and others such as B&G nowhere because of their lousy interface It looks like the “ Triston” is only upgradable with files downloaded on a USB stick and you have to remove the instrument to access the connection What a nightmare when it should be done over Bluetooth. Never again will I buy this junk . I moved from Navionics. That said, a couple of thoughts: 1. Can you please consider allowing Split screen on the iPad? I would like to combine viewing with windy or predict wind. 2. Please check the setting for changing the anchor alarm. Once in the menu I cannot go back to the menu on both iPhone 15 and iPad 12.9. only restart resolves, but no saving possible. 3. on iPad 12.9 when downloading a defined map area the result differs continuously from the area chosen. The area delivered trends to the south west. One final note: B&g and c-map differ only by hardware add-on opt in for B&G. I would consolidate the apps and offer all features of hardware add on holistically. Apart from that great work. I have all B&G equipment and three years ago found this app to be deficient but now it does every need it to do as a coastal sailor.
