## What is bablu?

bablu is a quiet place to keep the small voices of early childhood. The first "mama," the made-up words, the way they say "again" at bedtime.

Capture a moment in seconds: record their voice, write down the word, add a photo. bablu keeps it all on a calm timeline you'll actually want to look back on.

- Record first words and the little voice behind them
- Add what it meant, a photo, and a category
- Voice Capsules: messages for milestones, and letters they'll open one day
- Search everything, and keep favorites close
- Everything stays private, on your phone
- Export a full backup any time: recordings, photos, and a readable PDF

No account. No feed. No ads. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Your memories live on your device, and a backup is yours to keep.

Optional cloud backup and family sharing are on the roadmap, and they will always be opt-in. The default stays local-first.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-12

A calmer start: the app now opens with a single branded splash screen, with no flicker or second screen on the way in.

The tab bar now sits correctly above the home indicator on every iPhone.

Stability improvements, including a fix for a rare crash when the app read and wrote memories at the same time.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-08-06

Version 2.0 adds the Voice Timeline.

Their voice, month by month
Record a moment of their voice each month and watch the year fill in. Play the months back in order and hear how they change.

Now in French
bablu follows your device language, so the whole app reads in French or English.

Quiet reminders
On This Day brings back a memory from a year ago. A gentle nudge if this month has no recording yet. A note on their birthday. All of them stay off until you turn them on.

Capsule packs
Themed prompts for the moments worth catching, gathered into packs you can claim as you go.

On This Day on the Timeline
An anniversary rises to the top of the Timeline on the day it happened, and stays out of the way the rest of the year.

Smaller things
Close and back buttons are bigger and easier to hit throughout. Fixes for sheets, recording permissions, and French text that ran past its edges.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-20

No release notes.
