## Most critical reviews (7 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unable to cancel subscription

*2026-07-16*

I canceled after my free trial ended and am now stuck with a pending charge and unable to download apps due to the balance on my account. I’d like to cancel this app. I DO NOT wish to pay for any subscription.

**Developer response:** Hi, we’re sorry to hear about your experience.

Unfortunately, app developers cannot cancel App Store subscriptions, reverse pending charges, or manage Apple ID billing. All subscriptions and payments are handled entirely by Apple.

If your free trial has already ended and a renewal is pending or has been processed, only Apple can cancel or refund the charge. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, where Apple reviews each request individually.

We understand how frustrating this situation can be, and we’re sorry we can’t assist directly.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work

*2026-06-12*

The app doesn’t lock the screen AT ALL

**Developer response:** Hi Rinafil, we’re sorry for the confusion!

Because Apple doesn't allow third-party apps to lock your device automatically, our app utilizes iOS's built-in Guided Access feature to secure your screen.

To make it work, you just need to:
- Follow the setup: Check out the step-by-step video instructions right inside the app.
- Activate the lock: Once it's set up, simply triple-click your device's side button to engage the lock.

If you've followed the video and the triple-click still isn't working, please reach out to us at support@toddlerlock.app so we can help you get it sorted!

### 1/5 — Inappropriate App Names

*2026-04-28*

BE CAREFUL. Trying to get a refund. Some apps said “Garbage Mother” and suggestive names.

Edit: Thanks for the response, please do audit. There were other generated names such as “Rub High”, “Breast Shoe”, “Cream Gear”, “Claim Mouth”, “Purpose Rub”, “Pleasure Grocery”. There seems to be patterns in the library that were suggestive. I thought I was crazy at first but moms from groups agreed it sounds ‘grooming’.

**Developer response:** Hi Esirea, I am incredibly sorry for this. Please know that this was absolutely not intentional.

To keep things simple for toddlers, the app uses a random word generator to name the icons.

It seems the algorithm paired two words together in a very unfortunate and inappropriate way. I am a solo developer, and I am mortified that this happened.

I am immediately auditing the word library to remove any terms that could result in suggestive or offensive combinations to ensure this never happens again.

Regarding your refund: Apple handles all transactions directly for security. You can request a refund instantly at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Again, I sincerely apologize for this experience. It is not at all the safe environment I intended to build for parents.

Edit: Thank you again for raising this. The fix has now been released. The app no longer uses randomly generated icon names and now uses only a curated, reviewed list of kid-friendly names to prevent inappropriate or suggestive combinations. We sincerely apologize for the experience and appreciate you helping us make ToddlerLock safer for families.

### 2/5 — Huh

*2026-08-09*

Complicated setup

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, iOS doesn’t allow apps to enable or configure Guided Access on a user’s behalf — Apple requires this to be set up manually in the device settings for security reasons.

We know the initial setup can feel a little complicated, but it only needs to be done once. After that, starting Guided Access takes just a few seconds, and it makes the app much easier and safer to use with your little one. We hope you’ll give it another try!

### 2/5 — Eh

*2026-02-12*

It’s too easy to go back to the normal phone screen. Opened the app, gave it to my baby, and he was back messing with my normal phone within a minute.

**Developer response:** Hi So Cal Rider 58,

Thank you so much for the feedback! We totally feel your frustration—babies are surprisingly good at "hacking" their way back to your home screen.

The reason this happened is likely because Guided Access isn't active yet. Because of Apple’s security rules, we actually aren't allowed to "lock" your phone automatically from inside the app; only the iOS system itself can do that.

However, once you set it up, it’s a total game-changer! You can enter Lock Mode in about two seconds just by triple-clicking the side button.

To make it as easy as possible for you, we’ve recorded a detailed step-by-step instruction video specifically to show you how to get this set up:

Give that a shot, and your phone (and your settings!) should be much safer next time. Thanks for sticking with us!

### 5/5 — Exactly what Moms need in their toolbelt

*2026-08-02*

Like every mom, my intention is to not let my kiddos spend hours on screens. But the month forward timeline gets pretty grabby, and this is a must have to mix things up. I use this app in emergencies when we forgot a toy, when the other options for distraction aren’t high value enough, etc.

Buy it now, learn how to use it, and be thankful when your kiddos start to hit these new milestones!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review! ❤️ It means a lot to hear that the app has become one of those “just in case” tools for those moments when you need a quick distraction. That’s exactly what we hoped to create—a simple, reliable solution for busy parents when life doesn’t go as planned.

We’re especially grateful for your recommendation to other parents. Wishing you and your little ones all the best, and thanks again for your support! 😊

### 5/5 — Kennedy-

This is so great I always went to my cousins house and now my baby cousins have there own little thing

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! 💙

We’re so happy to hear your baby cousins have their own little thing to enjoy now. It means a lot that our app can help make family visits a little easier and more fun.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! 😊
