### 3/5 — Great but...

*2018-08-07, version 4.2.4*

It’s a great app! I like the fact that I can see and hear what’s going. That I can hear them when I lock my phone. What I hate is that it’s trying to force me to upgrade the app. And by forcing me, I mean it no longer offers me the option to do video (telling me to upgrade), and punishes me every time I turn the app on it makes me by increasing the wait time. I’m up waiting for 1 whole minute before being able to use this app. I mean, pictures are fine I guess, but I’m overly sure why I have to wait a minute (which is only increasing) in order to hear my babies...

### 3/5 — Just one small but hugely annoying problem

*2018-05-14, version 4.2.4*

This app WOULD get 5 stars from me BUT...I’ve been using it for 7 months and at first the intro screen popped up, I would close it, and the monitor would start. After several times using it the intro screen refused to let me close it for 10 seconds or so. No big deal, right? But EVERY TIME you open it, the amount of time you wait INCREASES. By now I’m up to waiting over 3 MINUTES just to close the intro screen and start the monitor. The only way to stop this is to buy the premium version, which I’m not willing to do. Why make a free version of something so inconvenient so we’ll buy the paid version? That’s just wrong. If I could find another free baby monitor app I would stop using this one, but so far I haven’t found another.

### 4/5 — Nice app

*2017-06-16, version 4.2.4*

It needs to be improved, though...
Connection is unstable at times, image quality not great.

### 4/5 — Ok most of the time

*2017-06-08, version 4.2.4*

The app works great most of the time, sometimes it doesn't connect but when it does it works great.

### 4/5 — The right scenario

*2017-01-24, version 4.2.1*

This app works great for us. I have never used a baby monitor so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it does what we need and that is to let us know when our little is awake. We use the wifi connection in a small house so haven't needed to use for large distances. Still works when I need to use other apps (haven't tried during a phone call). Only rating 4 starts b/c the picture isn't night vision and sometimes it doesn't work. But I consider that part a luxury since our little is 8 months and independent enough to not get herself stuck in odd positions in her crib. Gives me peace of mind to close doors during nap time/at night and enjoy coffee in the sunroom. 👍

### 2/5 — Needs improvements

*2015-11-27, version 4.1*

Good start. But premium upgrades need improvements! I've paid for premium and white noise upgrades but can't restore purchases. App says we need to be logged into same Apple ID, but doesn't work consistently. Plus, this is poorly designed, because this app, by it's nature, requires two devices (e.g. Two spouse's phones), which are very likely to be logged in as separate Apple IDs. But even when logged in as same Apple ID, the restore previous purchase functionality doesn't work. Once this is fixed, this is a 5 star app.

### 4/5 — Good for travel!

*2015-07-27, version 3.0.12*

We use this as our monitor for the kids whenever we travel. It's great for being able to leave the kids on another floor of the house or the next hotel room down and keep ears on them. (This is not as reliable for keeping eyes on them.) We don't have any connection problems, except for occasionally resetting, and we have used it under a variety of conditions. Most impressive is the bluetooth connection when there's no cell signal and no wifi. This reduces the range, but it does better than the 30 feet I was expecting. We are able to leave our kids sleeping on the lower level of a cabin and play cards in an upstairs room that is almost directly above them.

### 2/5 — Fine when it actually connects

*2015-07-03, version 3.0.12*

The struggle with this app is just getting it to connect to the other unit. The "monitor" will start to connect but before you can get a picture it will reset the connection. This can go on for minutes or the whole time you're trying to use the app. And then when it disconnects it makes this terrible high pitched dinging noise that you can't turn off or turn down so hopefully you aren't trying to use it in a small house or apartment. Once it connects it sends a picture of the baby every 10 seconds but the sound is live. So, if you can actually get it to connect it works fine. I wouldn't recommend this app.

### 3/5 — Okay, not great.

*2015-04-15, version 3.0.10*

I have the free version, so I didn't expect a lot of perks. It's a neat little app to use on vacations if you don't want to pack your real monitor. But, I wouldn't recommend it as your full time baby monitor. I use it a few days a week when I babysit. The camera feature is basically useless unless you put your child for a nap on a very bright room. We use blackout curtains, so the picture is just darkness. It does disconnect quite often, and I usually have to go in and make sure it's still connected. Okay, great for temporary use or use while traveling, but I definitely recommend something more legit for full time use.

### 3/5 — Works in house, no settings avail on free

*2015-02-28, version 3.0.10*

The app does what is says it does (sends streaming sound and a pic every 10 secs between iOS devices), but nothing more without paying.

I had trouble not getting uselessly noisy sound (in a quiet room - sleeping baby, you know) and had to turn the siund all the way down. Also, when I walked out to the yard (still with 3 of 4 bars) I was not able to reconnect the devices which is a deal breaker.

I will not use this app again. I will just use FaceTime, since thats about the same as you can get free from this app - but I know FaceTime works every time.

FYI - what I am looking for in a monitor app is 100% reliable connection and some settings for when I should pay attention; alerts when sound goes over x decibel, or when there is movement on the camera. Text style alert preferred.

### 1/5 — Annoyed Parent

*2014-12-17, version 3.0.6*

This app is great and very convenient, until you have a poor connection. We used this monitor as a backup after our other monitor died. I was pleased with it and it worked well until one night there was a poor connection. I got less sleep due to the app's constant dinging than my baby waking up. I reset the app, powered on and off both devices, and reset the wifi and nothing helped every 10 minutes the monitor would lose connection so I ended up having to sleep in the floor in the baby's room to be able to get some sleep.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I wish this app worked for me.

*2021-01-04, version 5.0.19*

Iphone 8 and iPad 3 are not a great combination for this app. I can ise itnin the house on wifi only. I never once saw an image over the internet and I spent a lot of time trying the different options in the settings. These choices between internet, wifi, and bluetooth are not great when you come and go from home a lot. The option for auto setting between wifi and internet seems like a necessary update.
I wanted it to work iSitter. I payed for the App and its now deleted from my phone Merry Christmas

### 1/5 — Video no longer works on iOS 14 and no support link

*2020-10-17, version 5.0.19*

Tried to send a not to the app support link and it was 404. App used to work great but now the video is blank.

### 1/5 — No audio

*2020-08-09, version 5.0.17*

It just says audio muted for no reason. It will give you audio for a few seconds but then cut back out. Audio is very unreliable regardless of the connection.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-07-24, version 4.3.0*

Terrible!!! Can’t get it to work!!

### 1/5 — Won’t connect

*2018-04-06, version 4.2.4*

I’ve tried using this app a dozen times at a dozen different places, and it simply does not work. I’ve followed all the instructions and am using new devices. Don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2018-01-24, version 4.2.4*

Entered multiple emails and they all say error email addresses used

### 1/5 — Registration

*2017-11-20, version 4.2.4*

Never received my registration email and could not find a way to report it.

### 1/5 — Don't waste your time.

*2017-09-10, version 4.2.4*

Doesn't work.

### 1/5 — No confirmation email

*2017-07-26, version 4.2.4*

They send a confirmation email and you cannot proceed without it. After waiting and waiting and checking my junk mail, it never came so I was never able to use it.

### 1/5 — The new version ruins everything!!!

*2015-10-08, version 4.0.3*

This app USED to be my go-to to watch my son. After the update on 9/15, the app is HORRIBLE. The video quality is so low now that instead of seeing any sort of image of my son, I see a huge blur (my son sleeps in a swing so any type of movement makes the image blurry on the new version). The video is COMPLETELY pointless. The new version is also glitchy and often won't connect my devices until the 5th or 6th try. Unfortunately I had to resort to using another app to monitor my son because of how terrible this new version is!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I love love love this app

*2021-06-22, version 5.0.20*

I have two old iPhones. I never thought i wanted a baby monitor with video. Until i had a baby. Now I’m so happy that my old iPhone can be used with the iSitter app and my newer phone as the other half. It’s more convenient than my wall plug in baby monitor which only does sound and has to be plugged in to work. I can keep my phone with me and go around the house inside and outside doing chores and i don’t have to worry about if I’m missing my baby waking up. I’m a huge supporter of these simple baby monitor apps that ACTUALLY WORK! I’ve tried, i kid you not, over 8 different baby monitor apps for iphone and this one is by far the easiest to use, the simplest, and the most reliable. Thank you iSitter! And guys, buy the premium. Support these app developers! It’s so worth the few dollars!!!!

### 5/5 — Finally

*2020-02-16, version 4.3.2*

So glad I found this app where the baby phone can be WiFi only and both receiver and sender app work in the background.

### 5/5 — Wonderful App!

*2018-10-28, version 4.2.5*

I use this app when we are out of town and don’t have our normal video monitor for my 14 month old. It is wonderful! Simple and easy to use!

### 5/5 — Love it!!!

*2017-06-02, version 4.2.4*

Works fabulously on my iPhone as the monitor and my daughters iPhone 4s as the video.
We left my baby video monitor at the house when we packed up for the beach. Not good! I scrambled to find something that work for us and this worked! Nighttime watching is tricky though. I have to move the light back and forth on the app to be able to watch but it still works!
Maybe make nighttime viewing easier would be my only suggestion.

### 5/5 — Solid and (mostly) basic

*2017-04-17, version 4.2.4*

I use this app every day. It's got the basics covered: listen for my kids. It has a video feature, but without some kind of iphone stand, that's not very useful. It's very reliable, even on otherwise lousy networks (no miracles, but very forgiving; my lousy cable modem doesn't reliably let clients using different wifi versions talk to each other, but iSitter manages somehow!). The free version works fine but gets aggressive about making you upgrade. One of the really excellent features is the support (via "iSitter Baby") for old iPhones - that lets me repurpose old iPhones as "always on" high-security digital baby monitors that I can listen to with the phone in my pocket. It supports multiple monitors on the same network, which is REALLY handy for those with multiple little kids. Also, the developer has proven very responsive to trouble reports. All in all, it's a solid and ultra-reliable app. I've tried several competitors, and they weren't nearly so reliable, nor were their developers anywhere near as committed to making it work. You won't be disappointed by this app.

### 5/5 — This app is awesome, a complete lifesaver.

*2017-04-06, version 4.2.4*

This app is totally amazing. Tonight was the first time I laid my 7 week old down in his own room. I was able to leave the iPad in his room and take my phone with me, downstairs so I could do laundry. I could hear everything on the app. The feature where you're able to adjust the nightlight was perfect so I could look in to see how my baby was sleeping. There is a bit of a lag but it's to be expected. I was able to feel like I got a small break as well as got some housework done because of this app. Another positive is that it's extremely easy on my iPhone battery. This app did what it advertised and so much more for me a mother of 3 trying to manage.

### 5/5 — Baby monitor - works as described

*2016-11-12, version 4.2.1*

This app works fine as a baby monitor. We have an old device as the baby unit with the light app on it & use it over wifi (couldn't get Bluetooth to work). It works in the room next door or down 2 floors, no problems. Connection only interrupted if baby unit makes sounds, so I set it to Do Not Disturb to disable notifications.

### 5/5 — Great Monitor

*2015-07-11, version 3.0.12*

We forgot our monitor when we went to visit the family, and found this app and it works perfect for what we needed. We set up an iPad as the monitor and I can carry my iPhone around with great audio as the receiver! We haven't experienced the connection issues that others listed, but we have strong wifi in the house. It's a great monitor when you don't have the real thing!

### 5/5 — Impressive Free Version

*2014-12-13, version 3.0.6*

Wow. I am really impressed with the free version of this app. My husband and I haven't been able to decide in a baby monitor for our son and one day we needed to step away while he was asleep. I found this app and was very impressed at how simple it was to use. It works wonderfully on Wi-Fi (it's once gone to Bluetooth) and you get sound (of course w a slight delay) as it happens and a refreshed image every 10 seconds. This has come in handy many times and will be great when away from home as long as you have your two devices.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!!

*2014-09-25, version 2.43*

Whoever "could not connect" was doing something wrong. Requires more than one device (duh?); both devices must be connected to same wifi signal. Set one to watch the baby and another to monitor. Get pics of the baby every ten seconds while you're downstairs getting stuff done. Fantastic app!!
