### 3/5 — its okay

*2026-05-11, version 3.5.43*

its a great idea and i like that you can have a partner but man so many of the names are so weird .

### 3/5 — Good options but duplicate

*2025-09-16, version 3.4.7*

I like how you can read the name meanings but it’s really frustrating when you get many duplicates.

### 4/5 — Really easy to use and great data

*2024-01-21*

Overall like the variety of names to choose from. The data and complementary name suggestions really sold me as well as being able to do this with my partner. Where this app completely fails is this forced separation of girl/boy names and always having to toggle. It’s really annoying. And there’s no way to search unisex names. Lose the forced gender separation for 5 stars.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! Just a quick note that you can view unisex names via the "Unisex" category on the Lists screen. From there, you have the ability to view names that are either currently unisex or historically were unisex.

### 2/5 — Unnecessary information

*2023-09-14, version 3.1.5*

I have used this app for years to help name my kiddos, but I recently updated it and noticed that they have included political affiliation in the name statistics. This is absolutely ridiculous and will only serve to increase division and “otherness” as well as people judging children solely based on their name.

### 3/5 — Decent

*2023-07-23*

A few things that would improve the app:

1. An additional option that lets you “like” or “love” a name but lets you mark that you do not want to use it because you have someone too close to you with the name (a cousin, another sibling, or it’s the name of someone you don’t like).

2. A way to sort by different themes and popularities.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the suggestions! As you're probably aware, liking or loving a name influences your recommendations and what cards appear at the top of the stack. It sounds like you'd like to be able to rate such names but then hide them so they don't appear in your lists. We'll keep this in mind for future improvements as well as more sophisticated searching / sorting / filtering. Thanks again, and best of luck in your name search!

### 2/5 — Update has taken something great and ruined it

*2023-07-13, version 3.1.5*

Downloaded this app a couple of months ago and it was fantastic. The best baby name app I had found so far. It had a comprehensive filter that you could tailor with so many options, finding lots of great names and suggestions. It was excellent.

With this new update, they’ve taken away almost all of the features that made it so good, and have turned it into a Tinder-style swipe app. Just like literally every other baby name app out there, it’s now just a clone.

While there is still a “list” option with some filters, the filter list is extremely limited compared to the previous version of this app.

I’m actually so disappointed and saddened by this update and really wish I could use the older version. I tried to provide feedback to their support email but it seems the email is no longer valid, so I’m not sure what’s happening.

### 3/5 — It’s alright could easily be better

*2023-04-18, version 2.6.4*

I’d like it more if there was a back button so I could go back to the names I’m looking at after viewing one specific name. I hate how it sends you all the way back to the beginning of the name list.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2022-05-06, version 2.6.4*

It’s a solid app, useful for baby names. Entertaining to look up friends’ names and learning different details and stats about each name.

### 2/5 — Gets the job done

*2021-08-14*

There are so many names that I added in myself because they were missing! A lot of meanings are missing from the names as well, and some meanings of names are either incorrect or incomplete (I.e. “Jaden” isn’t just derived from “colorful bird” in Latin. It’s also derived from Hebrew “thankful.” There’s no option to add in community input into a name. Search options could use a little bit of improvement, but the app gets the job done- I have a list of names now!

### 4/5 — Useful for utility

*2021-05-26, version 2.6.4*

This is an app that lets you look up the meanings and popularity of names even without internet. If you’re expecting or are just a name nerd, this could be an interesting app.

### 4/5 — It pronounces the name s

*2021-01-28, version 2.6.4*

Great app , it is very useful and well worth the purchase price

### 5/5 — Good game

*2020-06-14, version 2.6.4*

Good game

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2020-06-02, version 2.6.4*

You can discover new names or look up ones you already like to see alternative spellings, check pronunciation etc.

### 5/5 — Best baby name app

*2020-05-14, version 2.6.4*

So many stats, so little time!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to love this app

*2026-03-10, version 3.5.17*

I used to love this app. I even had paid for the premium several years ago. Totally grossed out by some of the “famous” people they choose to include. Example: under the name Jonah, not the man swallowed by a large fish from the Bible, but some random no-name known for “having a large penis”. Really?

### 1/5 — not good after updated

*2024-03-12, version 3.1.8*

Was using this app to choose names of my first 2 kids, but it is not good after updated, i love the simple old version.

### 1/5 — Buggy?

*2023-07-01, version 3.1.4*

Loved this app, but now I can’t even open it without it crashing?

### 1/5 — I used to love this app

*2023-06-22*

I loved this app, even though it didn’t have many of the names I looked for. I liked how the info was organized and I thought it was very informative, entertaining, and interesting.

They changed the format lately and I cannot give more than 1 star. It went from 5 to 1. I’m so sad I cannot access the same information anymore.

**Developer response:** Hi Silvia! Sorry to hear the new version isn’t meeting your expectations. We want to ensure the app is the absolute best for name research and inspiration, so we would really appreciate any more details you could provide on what you think is missing. Also, just to be sure, have you tried tapping on a name? The same details you loved in the previous version of the app, with the exception of the US map and the country chart (the data wasn’t reliable enough), should be available there. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Not user-friendly

*2023-01-28*

While this app has a ton of names and interesting data, it’s not conducive to browsing names or quick-adding them to a favorites list. You have to go to a name’s info page in order to favorite it. But then, once you click on a name, there’s no “back” button to take you the list you were looking at. You have to go to the main menu, choose the list again, and scroll down to where you’d left off. I tried this for about 10 minutes before giving up. Not worth your time.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your feedback! If you're still in the market for a baby name (or are looking for another one), you might want to try the app again as we've completely redesigned it for 2023 and have addressed the issue you describe.

### 1/5 — Is this a novelty?

*2021-03-14, version 2.6.4*

I put in 5 names to see the “Top Professions”. 3 have either pornographic actor or nude model in their top 5 professions. Lisa, Luke, Marco. Marco was #1. Really? The most popular profession for people name Marco is an adult actor?!

### 1/5 — Epic fail.

*2019-08-16, version 2.6.4*

I wasted my time trying this crap, so I’ll waste some more for reviewing this. What kind of names are these??? This app even has stupid tabs for different professions like a conductor. Are you serious? Why no a janitor or a garbage man? Because which parent doesn’t want their kid to become one. Did you look up a database for conductors to determine the names?🤦‍♂️

### 1/5 — Inaccurate and offensive

*2019-02-13, version 2.6.4*

This baby name app includes a “stripper quotient” that lets you know how many adult video performers have the name you’re viewing. What on earth? Totally inappropriate, not to mention irrelevant.

That weirdness aside, the pronunciation tool is a joke. Even common names are butchered. Uninstalled. Don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2018-09-24, version 2.6.4*

Hard to navigate.
Even at 1.99 I deeply regret this purchase.

### 1/5 — Just no, just know

*2018-08-16, version 2.6.4*

I think it’s horribly sexist that for the boys you give profession quotients and for the girls you give likelihood of becoming a stripper. Really? I even turned off the stripper option in settings and made sure the profession option was on and it still didn’t show that information on girls names! It’s sickening.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best baby-naming app I can find

*2025-05-17*

This is the one you need. You can combine the app with your partner, do the classic swipe-style search, but you can also dislike, like, and love names. you can look at different name lists which i find particularly useful. another thing i love is that you can look at the details of the names and find similar names, and the more you like names the more it finetunes your preferences. Also the upgrade is only like $6-$7 ish? And it’s just a one time purchase. Love this app !!

### 5/5 — Great app with excellent customer service

*2024-01-06, version 3.1.8*

I’ve used this app for years to store baby names. Upon upgrading my phone, the app would no longer load. Mark from the customer service team was quick to diagnose the issue and fix it - he even restored all the names I previously thought I had lost. 5-stars for stellar customer service!

### 5/5 — Best Naming App

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-04-20*

I love this app! Lots of interesting details about the names. Wish it had more browse and search capabilities. For example, what are the most popular girl names in the last 100 years in the USA that start with M.

### 5/5 — Very informative!!!

*2021-03-14, version 2.6.4*

My wife and I are due in September, and we’ve come up with many good ideas for names by using this app. Thanks for creating it!
