### 4/5 — Needs an update.

*2020-01-07, version 1.2.3*

Can’t see the words/letters on initial page with the phone in ‘dark mode’. They appear once you choose a word. Not a deal breaker, I just toggle off dark mode from the quick control screen of my iPhone.
Would love more words.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2019-09-03, version 1.2.2*

I would have too say this is one of the best ASL apps.
And baby signing and baby sign & song apps are easy to follow, with voice directions, the time they take to show you each sign and explain each one. Does not leave you frustrated.
Five stars love the app, I bought the extended one well worth it.
The quizzes are fun too!

### 5/5 — 5 Stars

*2019-05-18, version 1.2.2*

I’ve learned so much with this! Trust me, it’s totally worth the $2.99. There is so many signs and they are really easy to learn! Thank you :)

### 5/5 — Superb Resource!

*2019-04-28, version 1.2.2*

There’s a lot of discrepancies among the YouTube signing videos and it’s time consuming to search for the different signs. This app is simple and quick to access. They give tips on how to remember the signs. Excellent resource. I highly recommend this.

### 5/5 — Little is learning through me

*2019-04-07, version 1.2.2*

This is a great app for parents (and Grampys like me) to teach their little ones ASL. I have never been introduced to ASL until we thought our grandson would possibly have a speech delay. He didn’t, but he is advanced with his language now and can sign as well. The quizzes are fun, I just wish there were more words or an exercise in stringing the signs together easier. It’s great for telling him not to do something in public without embarrassing him. Love it.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-12-22, version 1.2.2*

The videos are perfect - no other app has this quality.

Dear app developer - need more learning tools please

### 5/5 — ASL basic commands and let

*2018-11-24, version 1.2.2*

The mommy and daddy doing the signing help kids relate. I first got this for me to relearn sign for my nonverbal grandchild, but now I use it with my verbal grands. Love this app.

### 5/5 — Baby ASL

*2018-10-25, version 1.2.2*

I love this app. I have had it for a couple of weeks. I am a Head Start teacher. In the past I have used it with a deaf child in my classroom. This year I have a non verbal child with Downs Syndrome. It is super easy to use and learn from.

### 5/5 — Excellent app!

*2018-10-21, version 1.2.2*

Excellent!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2017-02-21, version 1.2.1*

This is great for a beginner like me. They explain how to do the sign while they are doing it and it's not too fast or too slow. I'm very happy with it

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Might as well use Google

*2022-10-16, version 1.2.4*

Just a long list of mildly relevant words. Crocodile made the list, but hungry didn’t. Can think of few moments where I need my baby to sign to me that a crocodile is nearby…

… quite necessary to have them cue for hunger.

Save your $3 and use the lite version.

### 1/5 — Great but bug makes it unusable

*2020-12-16, version 1.2.3*

Text colour has become same colour as background so impossible to select word. Will update the review once fixed

### 1/5 — Can't see any words!!

*2019-12-20, version 1.2.3*

I love this app I used to use it all the time! I'm not sure what happened but I can't see any words in the library anymore

### 1/5 — No iPhoneX compatibility

*2018-10-04, version 1.2.2*

Doesn't fit the modern screen of a phone released 12 months ago..

### 2/5 — Very limited

*2021-03-14, version 1.2.4*

Very limited vocabulary. Or am I the only person whose baby eats oatmeal, oranges, or raspberries. I want a simple demonstration of the sign; a perky prediction about how much my baby will love signing each word just makes the learning process more tedious. No way to save favorites to review.

### 2/5 — Absolutely Love This

*2020-11-28, version 1.2.3*

I love this app. I work in a daycare as an assistant teacher, and one of the classroom teachers uses a little bit of sign with her 1 year olds. I wanted to also do this! (I’ve also always wanted to learn ASL). I like how this app has a decent amount of words to learn and videos explain how to do the sign. It’s great!

Love the app, but HATE how you can’t see any of the words until you touch them. The Lite version of this app doesn’t have this problem, so I’m a little frustrated that I paid money and now have issues. Hope this gets fixed soon!!

### 2/5 — Great reviews, seems to be an image issue on iPhone XR iOS 13

*2019-12-15, version 1.2.3*

Love the videos and appears to have any sign I can think of, but there must have been an update that has caused the words to not display until you click on them, then they just flash after you press them. Not sure if it’s a white text on white background issue, but makes it very difficult to find the right menu option or search for the right word. I’ll update the review once it’s fixed.

### 3/5 — Long time user—great app as a while but the bugs need fixin

*2021-09-14, version 1.2.4*

I’ve had this app for almost 7.5 years. I started out with the lite version and loved it so much that I paid to have the full app. Not only did it help me teach my baby sign, but it’s helped me to communicate with hearing impaired people as well. In the beginning this app worked just as the lite version did— all the words appeared in the dictionary so you could find which ones you were looking for. But in the past few years that has changed— there are symbols for the words but no actual word until you click on the picture. This makes it hard to find the words you’re looking for…when the words first disappeared I thought it was just a glitch. But as I sit here now on a new phone where I downloaded the most updated version of this app, that is still the case. It’s disappointing because I really liked this app and how easy it was to use but without the words appearing, it makes it so much harder to find what you’re looking for.

### 3/5 — Can’t see words

*2020-01-26, version 1.2.3*

Can’t see the words until you click on the field

### 3/5 — Sh*t customer support

*2017-05-07*

App is good however support is appalling. I have contacted them number of times to get this app updated so that it will be compatible with the future versions of iOS (64bit) no answer. I have no idea if the developer has any plans to add further content or not either. Considering this app costs a lot of money, I would have expected ... Well post sale support. Perhaps they have made their $$$ and no longer care about the customers???

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple to Use

*2025-06-15, version 1.2.5*

### 5/5 — user friendly and fun!

*2024-07-18, version 1.2.5*

I have used this for over 7 years! I was not intimated by it as it’s so user friendly! I recommend it to everyone 200%!!

### 5/5 — 1 App

*2023-03-20, version 1.2.5*

Hands down the best app for teaching my little one to be able to communicate. My son has Down syndrome and is non verbal, so it has meant everything! I love the tips and tricks to remembering each sign with real friendly faces to help you along. Thank you!

### 5/5 — 5 stars

Easy to use, great list of words to learn

### 5/5 — ASL Babies

*2022-05-10, version 1.2.4*

### 5/5 — Helpful hints

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-02-14, version 1.2.4*

This app is helpful, simple, and fun! The videos are short and provide great explanations of the signs. This has been wonderful to use with our toddler who is taking his sweet time to speak English

### 5/5 — Love it

*2019-10-13, version 1.2.2*

Use it often. It helped me teach my baby to sign so he could communicate before he learned to talk. We still use the app to look up words to communicate with hearing impaired friends. Love love love. Helpful videos and explanations. Easy to use index.

### 5/5 — Fun and easy

*2019-10-04, version 1.2.2*

Thanks for the app. And yes $2.99 so worth it.
