(Be sure you're using the **recipient's** account number and not the **order** account number! The email I got was not at all clear on the difference and the order number was listed first, so at first I tried that one and thought that the app might still be broken! But it works with the recipient number farther along in the email after padding it out with zeroes to 10 digits.) ### 1/5 — Should be a free app *2016-03-28, version 3.0* This was a very disappointing app only because it was not interactive! The price too much... ### 1/5 — Broken App and Terrible Customer Support *2015-12-22* This was one of my toddler's favorite apps and we used it several times a week to read charming interactive magazines, free because we also have a print subscription. Then I got an email from them telling me the app had changed and to log in again. Now it doesn't recognize subscribers, all our downloaded magazines are gone, and those that are viewable lack interactive features. I called their supposed tech support and after a long time on hold someone clueless came on who didn't seem to understand what an app was. I tried their online tech support. For the last 3 months they have written me every few weeks telling me that they changed my password and I should be able to log in now. I was always able to log in, so my problem is still unresolved. They also keep marking the case as Resolved, which it is not. The last time they wrote me and actually said: We can't fix your problem, we'll try to get tech support to keep working on it, but in the meantime, here, we've changed your password for you, hope that helps. Argh. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY *2015-12-03* We subscribed to this for minimal 2 years or 24 months, since 2013 and now have NO access to any of our content, which we paid for. Cricket Media will not help and they place the blame on Apple. Apple does not own the content, Cricket does, therefore they are accountable. Unfortunate, it was a really good interactive app. Don’t waste your time money or effort. ### 1/5 — HUGE disappointment! *2015-11-29* No stars. I only put one star because no stars wasn't an option. What a drastic, terrible downgrade! My 2 year old loves the magazines and we both adored the old, interactive app. I've never reviewed an app before but I'm just stunned at how bad this is now that I want to warn people against getting this app. No animation, no music, no read along voices. Definitely not keeping up with the times at all. Bring back the old format! ### 1/5 — Cricket has lost my business *2015-11-16* Fine if they want to change their app - which is really a downgrade - BUT IT IS NOT OK that all of the issues I purchased - about $50 worth are gone since this new update! I am not a happy camper and am missing the fun I used to have reading and playing with my 2 yr old granddaughter. ### 1/5 — Not interactive AT ALL! *2015-11-07* The previous downloads we had already purchased are not available and the magazines that we just RE-purchased are just a copy of the print with NO interactive parts or extras. So so DISAPPOINTED. Not any more. More over, since they've updated the app, it doesn't recognize iTunes subscribers any longer. The publisher site says iTunes subscribers should ask iTunes for refund, while iTunes do no refund for any in app purchases even if this is a magazine subscription. Thus, the delivery of your magazines is not guaranteed if the publisher makes any changes to the app in the future, and refund isn't guaranteed as well. Cricket Media scammed about 40 dollars out of my pocket: two subscriptions and some magazines that I bought in May and August 2015 and can't access any longer. ### 1/5 — So disappointed *2015-10-30, version 3.0* This app used to be amazing. Interactive, it read the stories to my daughter. Over the summer, it became just a scanned copy of the magazine. I was excited to see there was an update to the app in hopes that the interactive aspect would return. I can't even sign in to the new app. It isn't recognizing my username or password so I entered my email for them to send me a new password and I've been waiting probably 30 minutes with no email. Subscribers pay extra for these digital editions. I certainly hope baby bug plans to reimburse customers for the last few months. I don't think it's worth extra money just to have my daughter flip through the pages on my iPad without it being interactive. She can just look through the magazine for that. ### 1/5 — What Happened!? *2015-10-28* They moved to the new app now it doesn't work. Can't recognize me even since I have a subscription. The 1 book I could download didn't interact at all, it just scrolled. Also none of the old issues are in there?? ### 1/5 — New app isn't as good *2015-10-28* The old baby bug app was amazing. The pages were interactive, there were songs, videos and cool little animations. My son loved it. The new app? Just scanned copies of the actual magazine. It's still a good magazine. Just a bad app. ### 4/5 — Part of my son's bedtime routine. *2014-04-06* These magazines are so fun for my 17 month old son and we look forward to a new one every month. They are educational, fun, interactive and have little read-a-loud stories. Before bed my son now demands we read at least two issues before he happily goes to bed. My only issue with Baby bug is every once in awhile (I'm assuming when there has been an update) I go to read my son an issue or two and find that all our issues have to be redownloaded. We've been subscribed for almost a year so all our issues need to be downloaded again. Not a huge deal, just pretty in incitement when a cranky tofdler wants his stories and I don't know how to explain that he has to wait for them to download again. Otherwise, we're in love and have auto subscribe on for every month! ### 2/5 — the worst app support I have ever seen *2013-07-01* I bought a one-year subscription last August, but since March this year, I've been asking to pay $2.99 in order to download the new issue. I feel hopeless for this matter because when I contacted iTune, they asked me to contact the App's developer, and the Cricket Magazine asked me to contact iTune because I purchased it via iTune. I am like ping-pong ball being pushes back and forth between iTune and the App support, noboby takes the responsibility to fix my problem. I don't think I'm going to buy the digital magazine again!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Bad bad advertising! Rip OFF! *2021-03-10, version 7.0.14* I received an email telling me after I paid for a subscription $29.95 for my granddaughter that I was eligible for a digital subscription. I attempted to log in and was refused. I called and was told I was NOT eligible for the digital subscription. When asked how much more I had to pay she responded with an additional $20 + WHAT! Unbelievable and a total ripoff..I will not renew my subscription next year and will order Highlights for my granddaughter instead. ### 1/5 — Login *2020-07-27* Does not let paid online subscription log in. We just got our subscription a week ago, and it came with instructions to log in to this app that don’t work. The last update to this app was over two years ago, so this has been an issue that Cricket has been aware of for two years and has completely ignored. When the app changed I tried to log in. Even though I PAID FOR THE FULL DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTION I either couldn't get logged in or them only got a basic PDF of the magazine. That isn't worth anything! I agree with others on the terrible customer service, basically they said we can't help you.
