It is very slow and not as intuitive. It doesn’t even auto bear off. What a waste of money! ### 2/5 — Poor customer support *2026-06-01, version 2.03* I bought this game in May 2026 and discovered that it doesn’t seem possible to turn off the sound effects. They’re very annoying when other people are nearby. I asked Support for help on May 10. Again on May 20. Again on May 25. I never got one response!! Not impressed. Play in hard mode. As others have mentioned …. WAY Too many doubles. Unrealistic. We paid money for this game. Why is it programmed to cheat so openly? What is the point of putting games out to cheat? Probably would sell a lot more if done fairly. If checking the previews it is clear this is an ongoing issue for YEARS. FIX IT! I have played from several hours at a time. Computer will almost always open, the 3rd to 5th play will usually be a large double and player will get stuck with repeat plays totaling less than 7 points 4/3, 6/1/, 5/2 whereas computer will consistently get 10’s, 11’s or doubles. It is PREDICTABLE. Even working around the cheating I am usually able to win…..except when bearing off and computer gets THREE doubles in a row. Worst case I saw was doubles used back to back 7 times between both players. Insanity. Yet I play because I paid….only slightly better than free version, but no ads. ### 2/5 — Dice not random *2025-11-11, version 2.03* Like others who have reviewed the game, I have experienced the computer player somehow getting precisely the roll needed to knock me off the board a large percentage of the time as well as winning almost every opening roll, but worst of all is that once the game comes down to a race, the computer will roll double after double. These are often large doubles (5s or 6s). I just watch it win 3 games in a row where the computer player rolled at least 3 and in one case 5 large doubles in a row to win games where I had a fairly substantial leads. For example if you roll a 6,1 and you want to use the “1” first, that is no longer possible. So basically it’s not backgammon anymore. What backgammon board have you seen where pieces are on top of each other? You have to tap multiple times on a piece to select. No way to save a game to continue later. No stats. You set the the match option to be at 5 games, later you go back and change one option, like turn off sound, and even though 5 is still selected, it ends the match after one game. Need to go back to the drawing board. Always seems to get out of a losing position with big doubles or perfect rolls. The computer can can multiple checkers exposed…but I can’t roll the right numbers to put them on the bar…but one exposed checker for is going to be removed and then covered with the perfect rolls. I even stopped playing with the doubling cube because it means the computer rolled something big (which I can’t see until I accept the double) and it’s game over. ### 1/5 — Fair *2024-07-18, version 2.03* I have been playing backgammon for 50 years. It’s a great way to pass the time in any location. You can share a two player game on your iPhone or iPad - the iPad screen makes it larger which is cool. The really cool thing is that I’ve been playing against the game in HARD mode and you learn all the little strategies and non-obvious moves.
