### 1/5 — Not worth the time or price

*2026-08-18*

I really wanted to like this app. Unfortunately, it is very slow and the beachball swirls anytime I try to make changes. The one time I got it to work, it took 4 days to backup my photo library. Where as parachute takes about an hour.

**Developer response:** Hi, I’m sorry about your experience. Taking 4 days to complete a backup is definitely not normal.

I’d really like to investigate what happened in your case. If possible, please contact me at support@backigo.app and let me know approximately how large your Photos Library is, how many photos and videos it contains, what backup destination you were using, and which version of macOS you’re running.

Your information would be extremely helpful in identifying the cause and improving BackiGo.

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Better alternative to Parachute

*2026-04-29*

I discovered this through discussions about Parachute’s acquisition, and I wish I’d known about BackiGo from the start.

I have a pCloud account, and the ability to auto-upload to my pCloud storage is huge for me. To top it off, I can encrypt my backups? I love this.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review! I’m glad you love the app.

### 5/5 — 好用

*2026-02-24, version 1.3.5*

好用又不貴的軟體，值得評論

### 5/5 — Essential for safeguarding research data

*2026-02-21*

As a researcher and lecturer, BackiGo is a lifesaver. I can finally create real, restorable backups of crucial project photos and iCloud Drive documents directly to my external drives and NAS. The peace of mind knowing my field work and academic materials are safely stored outside the cloud, in original quality, is invaluable. It’s a simple, private solution for protecting years of work.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review and for sharing your experience！

### 5/5 — Great for what it is, especially as a non-Mac user

*2026-01-18*

I have an iPhone (obviously) and a PC. I like backing up my photos and being able to view them on my PC monitor. The windows iCloud app sucks and doesn’t sync all the time, and I don’t want to pay for iCloud ad infinitum. I wanted a one-time payment way of getting all my photos and videos on my iPhone. I bought the one time $14 lifetime subscription to this app and so far it’s worked great.

I just went on a long international vacation in November and was able to move everything onto an external SSD, and then move that to my PC.

I did have some issues to address:

1) I have an iPhone 14pro. This still uses the lightning port. For all the pictures and videos I had, the transfer time was unfortunately limited to USB 2.0 speeds. This is no fault of the app and did not factor into my review.

2) the transfer would fail and cut out if my iPhone went to sleep or locked, so I had to keep my iPhone awake and unlocked for the entire transfer time (which took about an hour and a half). Your iPhone needs to be plugged in anyway so at the very least it didn’t drain my battery. But it was annoying to leave it alone for an hour and then check on it only to see that it stopped 55 minutes ago. But once I switched my phone to never sleep and be unlocked always, it worked.

3) you need a bunch of extra things to do the transfer if you have an iPhone 14 or lower. You need a special Apple lightning to USB-A adapter, then you need an external SSD. There is no way to connect your phone directly to a PC and transfer it that way.

4) this seems to be a limitation to any non apple OS device: Live Photos will always save as two photos. It will be one photo + a gif of the “live” part. This unfortunately just the reality of dealing with pictures on non apple devices. The fact that the developer has made this app compatible for Live Photos is great though and I highly appreciate it for that aspect. As far as I am aware, there is no other nonnative app that does this.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed review! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Due to iOS restrictions, locking the screen or moving the app to the background will suspend the app. In the latest version, I added a "Stay Active" feature (enabled by default during backup) that keeps the screen from auto-locking while dimming it to save battery.

iPhone 14 and earlier use Lightning ports, so you'll need a Lightning-to-USB adapter. iPhone 15 and later use USB-C and can connect directly to external SSD.

For external HDDs, iPhone's power output isn't enough. You'll need a docking station with PD power input or a drive with its own power supply.

### 5/5 — Perfect for backing up locally

*2025-12-18*

This app works great for both photos and iCloud folder backup. Peace of mind to have my photos saved and not just a photos library file like I used to have. Awesome dev that is actively updating and working on updates.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review! I'll keep working to make the app better.

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2025-11-17*

The app works great! Being able to back up and preview photos from external storage—especially a USB drive—and restore or edit them when needed has genuinely solved a major pain point for me while traveling.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review and for sharing your use case!

### 1/5 — 完全不能用

*2025-11-05, version 1.2.6*

不能用啊 試用備份100張照片到USB，結果等了半天還沒有完成，隔天完成後顯示一半失敗

### 1/5 — It makes my iPhone 16 pro burn

*2025-09-02, version 1.1.4*

My hope for a backup app is to work quietly and successfully without me worrying. This app does the opposite. I have 20,000 photos roughy. It kills my iPhone 16’s battery from 100% to 5% in less than 45 min. Why not do it as charging the phone? Absolutely no! Because the phone burns like a toaster, slows down performance and almost shut it off. You know what makes it worse? Apple says it is ineligible for a refund! Listen everyone, don’t buy it! There are so many other options

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-08-20*

This app is awesome! Smooth and easy. Thanks!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you like it.
