It’s not great. You can get free items by watching gross ads, ui is pretty awkward. Just feels like a watered down version of the original and makes me worried for the future of game on both platforms. ### 2/5 — Ads *2024-11-26* The game itself is great I would give it 4 stars, but I’m giving it 2 because you watch more ads then you do play the game. ### 2/5 — Paid to get rid of ads but still too many ads *2024-11-25* I paid $5 to get rid of the ads. It did warn me that there would still be optional ads for rewards. But what it didn’t tell me was that the game is unplayable without watching those “optional” reward ads. So I feel like my money was stolen. I paid because I don’t want to view any ads. I thought the game would still be playable. This is a crazy pay to win ad-laden mess where you are expected to watch ads to stay competitive with cheap or free gear. The storage interface is buggy and you lose items. If you want to expand your backpack you are forced to watch ads which are conveniently not mandatory ads. The frequency at which you are offered bag expansions for in game gold is way to low to actually progress in the game forcing you to watch more ads. But for more money you can buy ad skip tickets? This game is a sad cash grab. Please, refund my 5 dollars. ### 1/5 — Unlicensed ripoff and bad port *2024-07-16* Firstly I'd like to say the game is great and if you don't know it you should play the real versions on itch.io or steam. Firstly this appears to be an unlicensed ripoff from china. There are no mentions of a mobile version on the twitter account and between that, the subtle name change and the chinese text I thinks it's pretty clear Even if you didn't care about that, for some reason, the port is awful. If you pay to remove ads you still need watch ads to obtain inventory space, which is required to progress. I even purchased ads remove but I still need to watch ads if I want to buy a necessary bag space, will apply for refund once payment past pending. ### 1/5 — Stolen game bad port *2024-07-11* Backpack battles is a pc game, and this seems to be a different dev who stole the game and its assets. The monetization is bad. Need to watch ads to get items needed to play. Ads interrupt you between matches. The game slows down terribly over time. Bad lag. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to fail every battle because I’m unable to buy more bag space because I don’t want to watch an ad, after I’ve already paid 4.99 to not have ads in the game. I’d rather pay $15 one time and get the whole game open rather than be forced to watch 30 second ads every time I want to play the game. When you need more storage or backpack space you are required to watch an ad for it. Like says 0 coins cost with ad, just want to buy it at normal price with no ads.
