### 1/5 — STAY AWAY

*2023-05-01*

I have tried to make the breathalyzer work that they sent but it continually sends errors. The fact that their equipment and software hasn’t worked and the no refund policy would make me stay stay away!! Especially since the links to cancellation of their services are “not working”. Sounds like a good service and wish it worked as advertised.

### 1/5 — Can’t even do a login

*2022-06-09, version 2.7.4*

This is the worst app ever! I’m going to have to return the unit to Amazon because I can’t use the app. I set up an email and password and it won’t let me login. There’s no Customer Service there’s nothing. It’s pathetic. Complete waste of my time

### 1/5 — Heldon I get the device?

*2021-08-29*

How do I get the deveise

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2021-05-23*

I understand the need for this app and product. Accountability and sobriety go hand in hand. I am thankful that my freedoms and employment didn’t hinge on this app’s performance, as I know some people’s do. Too many times, the app failed to work, endlessly spiraling after an attempt, looking for a signal, and leaving me anxious. Would I make the test in time? Have to head to another location with a stronger signal. Perhaps yet another update was in order!? This dilemma made my school, work, and commute exercises in needless anxiety. Moreover, on more than one occasion, I tested positive for alcohol because of a system error and had to take off work to take a blood test to confirm my sobriety.
Again, this is an essential tool, but the execution and performance are too unreliable. It’s sad to think someone’s reputation, employment, or freedom suffered from this app.

### 1/5 — Nice view update today

### 1/5 — Connectivity

*2026-08-20*

Most of the time the app loads test results. Sometimes my test doesn’t upload to the all which has created issues.

**Developer response:** We're sorry you are experiencing this issue — we completely understand how frustrating that is when you just want things to work. A few steps that often help with speed or uploading issue: clearing the app's cache, making sure your device isn't low on storage, and confirming you're on the latest version. If you're on a slower connection, switching to Wi-Fi can also make a noticeable difference. If none of that helps, we'd really like to dig into this with you personally. Please reach out to us directly at support@bactrack.com (mailto:support@bactrack.com) with your device type and additional details and we'll take a look.

### 1/5 — It keeps nagging me for a review

*2026-07-07, version 2.38.1*

Leave me alone. I use the app. It works. It’s still doing it on July 06 2026

### 1/5 — Not suitable for iPhone SE

*2026-01-26*

App does not work for iPhone SE which sucks bc my BAC tracker is older than my phone and yet I can’t use it without an app that I cannot use. Do not buy their BAC tracker!!!! Unusable without the app and the app doesn’t work. Spend your money on a different brand.

### 1/5 — Malfunction and they won’t replace

*2026-01-15*

I know when someone has a drinking problem and says their device is malfunctioning, it’s sounds iffy. But I am getting back up urine tests to prove the device is wrong. They are coming back clean. And it’s expensive to pay for a device that malfunctions AND have to pay for urine tests to prove your sobriety. Would not get again, and I‘m looking at other options. DO NOT GET THIS DEVICE unless you want to experience a heart attack when you’re 100% sober and it fails you.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2025-06-13*

App fails alot. Need very strong signal or it won’t work. Takes multiple blows and 25 minutes to get one test to go through.

### 1/5 — Scam taking advantage of people seeking help

*2025-04-25*

I have been using this app for 3 months. Not only is the device unreliable but the people behind the app are just taking advantage of people seeking help. You sign up for a subscription but then it will automatically renew. If you do send a form for cancellation on time they will just charge you automatically with no head up. They do not inform you of the charge and even after service just charge you. Do not use this service if possible find a different service.

### 1/5 — Cheaper to Replace

*2024-09-29*

I reached a limit of 420 tests on my BACTest breathylizer, which lasted me a year, before I was prompted to buy a new one. Compared to the app, which asks for 80$ a month, buying a new one is much MUCH cheaper, but look in other places before buying!

### 1/5 — Very Buggy. Needs more testing

*2024-03-04*

This app seems to still be very immature and in need a of more testing. The random scheduling function doesn’t work. It also throws an error every time the tester blows through the breathalyzer. Needs a lot more testing.

### 1/5 — Terrible Ap!

*2023-07-05*

This ap malfunctions all the time!! Do NOT use it as your sole means of proving your sobriety. I live in California, flew to New York, all my prior test results switched over to eastern time which made it look like I had been testing 3 hours later than I actually had so my previous morning tests were too late. Then when I got back to California, it adjusted all my test results from New York back 3 hours earlier, so it looked like I hadn’t taken my night tests late enough while I was there. It also gets hung up and will not upload results unless you have a very strong wifi or cell signal. If you accidentally close out of the app or turn off your breathalyzer before the upload is 100% complete, you lose your test completely but sometimes it hangs on the “100% Uploaded” message but never actually uploads. The device that the initial subscription comes with charges with a USB cord, so if the battery dies and you need to take a test right away you’re screwed. It should have an alkaline battery backup option. I could order a backup device that uses batteries from their website, but it seems ridiculous to spend MORE money to have ANOTHER device— the first one should just work! I cannot rely on this thing!!!

### 1/5 — So many problems, especially calendar/time stamps

*2023-07-03*

This app malfunctions all the time!! I flew out of state and all my test results from the previous few days switched over to eastern time (from western) which makes it look like I had been testing 3 hours later than I actually had. I don’t know what time it shows on my PO’s view, but this could get me in big trouble! It also takes ages for the videos to upload unless you have a very strong wifi or cell signal. If you accidentally close out of the app or turn your breathalyzer off before the upload is 100% complete, you either lose your test completely or it doesn’t finish uploading until you open the app again. The device charges via a USB cord, so if the battery runs out and you need to take a test soon you’re screwed. It should have an alkaline battery backup option. I see that I can order a backup breathalyzer that uses batteries on the website, but it seems ridiculous to spend MORE money to have another device when I still can’t trust the app. I cannot rely on this technology when it’s so important that I’m proving my sobriety!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Reliable

*2026-05-30*

I have used this device for going on 3 years. It is reliable in operation and best of all it helps you be accountable.

### 5/5 — Great product

*2026-05-04*

I saw on the reviews a couple people who had issues but I experienced no issues in 3 months. It’s gonna sound like I work for them but this app honestly helped me with my case in a big way. It was easy to print off my tests online for court and give access to my lawyer. Also, I had set times and made sure not to eat with 15 mins of each test. I did about 4 tests a day for 3 months. Super annoying yes but proved what I needed to prove in court in an indisputable way.

### 5/5 — Awesome Support for Sobriety

*2021-11-15*

I wanted to write in to thank you for creating such an amazing device and service. I have struggled with sobriety for 5 years and have been in and out of treatment for alcoholism. Having relapsed and not being able to fight off the disease has caused major problems in my relationships, career and health. After completing treatment with a major medical system, I found BACTrack View and added this to my recovery support plan. I elected into this program and signed up for a year to help demonstrate my commitment to sobriety and rebuilding trust. This device is much more than a tool. It is a key component to helping me remain accountable, but also regain trust from the ones I love. This is a great asset to recovery and doesn’t always have to come by way of a parole officer or court ordered mandate. It is a great tool for the regular person who wants to turn their life around. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Excellent Product!

*2019-02-15*

This is an amazing product that has helped me to stay accountable with my family and all the while during my court proceedings and hearings. I’ve been using BacTrack for a little over two weeks and have not had any major issues with the app, device, or being able to reach out to customer service. It’s a very easy device to use, the app is very user friendly and again BacTrack’s phone and email team of customer service agents are readily available to their customers. I will say the “one issue” I had with the device was one morning when I used the product I forgot I brushed and used mouthwash; immediately taking an exam it stated I had .16 BAC. So to show that it was a false positive I waited a few mins as their website stated and took a second test ten mins later and had a zero reading. After that I took an exam every 15 mins for the next hour and throughout the day I took one every hour on the hour to show I was not intoxicated; just to show again it was a false positive. What I want to state there is that this device is sensitive and will pick up on any form of alcohol; which is a good thing! The price for the device in comparison to others out there is extremely affordable and will not break your bank account when you are trying to be accountable and all the while making positive changes in your life. Some of the other pros to the device, when you purchase a subscription: you get to keep the device for life, it takes a photo of the individual performing the test, your GPS enabled location during each test, comes with some extra mouth pieces, the user has unlimited amounts of exams they can perform within their subscription time frame, and you are allowed one PDF print every month. I was able to use the PDF print feature and again this was amazing too; you get onto your app, download your results, they are emailed to you, open the file and print away! It shows a time stamp along with all of your results; the only two things it doesn’t show on the PDF is your photo and location of where you took the exams; those results are saved onto the app.

The only thing I would change is allowing the person using the device to be able to have unlimited PDF prints of their results since I do not think it would affect the company from having to do any additional work.

All in all, I have heard of issues with BacTrack from previously reading other reviews and we all know that when new products are placed into the market there are issues but to me it seems like this company has improved their app experience, a great, police-grade, breathalyzer device, and the quickness of their support team. I haven’t had any major issues and am thankful there is a cheaper and more readily available means such as this device!

Thanks again BacTrack!

### 4/5 — Face ID does not work in iPhone 11

*2019-10-15*

Great app, but having to enter user and password as app will not prompt you to use FaceID. Fingerprint was prompted fine in iPhone7. Please add this functionality.

**Developer response:** Hi Duralis, this functionality is available in the App. You do need to give permission to use Face ID the first time you login to the App, so it's possible this was bypassed initially. To re-enable this functionality, go to Settings in your iPhone, find the View 2 App, and re-enable Face ID security access.

### 4/5 — Peace of mind....

*2019-04-17*

A big piece of functionality missing is iPhone notifications or alerts when 1) a new test result is recd, 2) a test is missed or 3) a test is failed. That is visible only within the app.

but.... pretty good solution at much more affordable price than the court ordered option.

Added: the screen shot above shows red days. Those are days with a missed test BUT, beware - individual failed tests on a date still may show a green day on the calendar - check every result!

**Developer response:** Hi M5me, thank you for your feedback. Just wanted to let you know that Email and SMS alert notifications have been added to the BACtrack View 2 App. A Monitor can be notified when a user takes, fails or misses a test. They have the option of turning any or all these notifications On and Off, and selecting if they prefer their notifications via Email, SMS or both.

### 3/5 — Avoid 2.6.5 - Super Slow Updates

*2021-03-14*

Version 2.6.5

Good:
- Added 3 minutes from the first alert to the "first reminder". I imagine the next reminder is 15 minutes after that.
- Added a "Later" option for upgrade Installation. Very handy if you have marginal cell coverage.

VERY BAD:
- It takes 90 seconds(!) to upload the data on a good connection. I'm not sure what will happen if the connection is poor. You can't do *anything* on the phone during that time. Very annoying.

BAD:
- The recent update notes are useless “bug fixes.” Even though significant changes are made.

### 3/5 — Changes

*2021-03-11*

Why did you change the functionality? It’s mot as smooth and is inconsistent. It takes twice as long to test with the uploading. “If ain’t broke don’t fix it!” Words to live by before you make anymore changes. This was a swing and a miss!

### 3/5 — Calendar Error

*2021-03-09*

It was made aware to me that the tester can see on their calendar view how many tests they have pending for that day so for them they could essentially stay sober until their tests are complete for the day and then drink one the scheduled tests are over. Would be nice if that loophole could be fixed.

### 2/5 — Just ok

*2026-05-20*

There are many times the video freezes and there’s just a still photo. There sometimes is a long delay in getting the text message that a test was done. For the price, the app isn’t worth it. But I have no other way if monitoring alcohol consumption.
