Please! ### 2/5 — Doesn’t do much *2026-07-17, version 3.0.9* The app is very unimpressive. Doesn’t do what the manual says. It’s also clunky because when you go to settings it doesn’t let you go back. You have to close and restart. ### 2/5 — Works Great. Changing the functionality was wrong *2026-05-11, version 3.0.8* BACTrack Mobile did a software update a few months ago (6-8 or so) and during that update they dropped (3) important and key functions of the backtrack mobile APP /!device that all use to be included with the purchase of the device. 1) self photograph or Image 2) GPS maps location of where the Breathalyzer took place with timestamp 3) an embeddable url link that you could share via text when sending results to other people. i.e. co-parents before or after custody exchanged. These were the reasons I purchased the device in the first place. Now that they did the upgrade, this functions are no longer available. You have to pay for their monthly plans at like $79.99 / month. So from free... to $80 or up to $120 month for some plans. From Free to $5 tor $ 9.99 / month I could maybe understand., but $80 bucks per month... absurd Disappointed customer ### 2/5 — Backtrack new app *2026-02-12* The new app is very clunky. You have to turn off and on the blue tooth for each reading. It also doesn’t maintain all the daily readings. Previous app was great. We appreciate your patience while we work on this. ### 1/5 — Hardware is unreliable *2026-02-08* Regardless of conditions, the result is always “test incomplete.” I would suggest refraining from purchasing this device; it’s ultra cheap consumer (in my case non-functional) masquerading as prosumer. We'll get this looked at as quickly as we can. ### 1/5 — New update requires account *2026-01-29, version 3.0.5* After years of the app working account free you are now REQUIRED to create one and sign in to use your device. Blood alcohol data could be considered sensitive and I don’t trust you with it. ### 1/5 — Nightmare for privacy and liability *2026-01-23, version 3.0.5* Must create an account to use it (new with version 2, meaning there’s no good reason KHN, the developer, requires it). Your photo and results can become public, according to the TOS. If you get sued for something related to the app, KHN can take over your legal defense, but you have to pay their legal fees. INSANE. And those are just a few of the highlights of the problems with privacy and liability with this app. ### 1/5 — Loved it until… *2026-01-15* I began using the device and really liked it. It was easy, saved the info, provided what I needed. I purchased the App, pay a monthly subscription fee, and used it often. I purchased to record, show the pattern and provide information to dispute false accusations in a custody case. I used it regularly with most consistent uses the weeks my children were home. After more than 5 weeks of use… I blew in the device and the result was recorded and verified. 2 hrs later, after meeting with an atty who was planning to receive the info that day; it was gone! The app, the info, the crucial information… GONE! Now it’s seems I was dishonest, provided false statements re using device & then I am now being ordered to pay hundreds of dollars and required to take a blood test. The best part, I was paying $80 per month for the service. We called customer service and was told too bad. I am starting over to show from now until my trial date but loosing that info did damage I can’t begin to explain. I won’t recommend, but I’m stuck at this point. For casual use, it’s great. Leider fehlen nach dem Re-Design Funktionen wie die Selbsteinschätzung vor dem Test und die Punktmessung nicht zu speichern nach der Messung. Außerdem hat man jetzt scheinbar auch hier einen Accountzwang - sehr schade. Die neue Optik schaut schön aus. There is absolutely no reason why I should create an account just to check how much alcohol is in my blood system. By doing this, they basically bricked my device, and reneged on the original terms of the deal. I tried all of my passwords and it took none of them and then locked me out!! I went the entire Christmas holiday without being able to use my device. I emailed customer support days ago and have received no response! You have made my device a brick. Today I was forced into a new app by these scum. When I didn’t agree to the EULA, my breathalyzer was locked out and made useless. Absolutely criminal. What a piece of junk. The app opened up and you pressed the button to blow. Now you have to agree to a wall of conditions, supply an email and a non-optional name. This isn’t what I bought. My fun device that I occasionally used with friends to estimate our BAC’s is now just another data tracking tool. Just let me open an app and use what I paid for like it did originally. At first I felt annoyed it required an app at all, but the app worked fine. Now it wants account login and name info and a history of BAC tests. No thanks. Wish I had bought a version with the screen on the side, no app required. I would have recommended this with the old app. But certainly not with the current version that needlessly requires your data and personal info. **Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your thoughts — we genuinely appreciate hearing from you, and we understand this change feels like an extra step you didn't ask for. One tap actually does nothing, holding the button for a second turns it on, and you have to hold the button for 7 seconds to switch to app mode, at which point the device’s screen will no longer readout the users BAC, but instead just literally say “app mode”. It’s made clear in the instruction manual which comes in the box, but for anyone who threw it out before seeing that, there’s no way to ever know, because the app doesn’t explain it. What’s nice is it stays in app mode, if that’s how you leave it, so it’s not like you’ll have to do that every time. I strongly recommend it be updated to add that instruction to the pairing screen, but other than that, it does what it says, and the BAC reading seems to be very consistent so far. ### 5/5 — Invaluable! *2024-03-23, version 2.8.3* I have owned several breathalyzers over the years. This is by far the easiest to use.
