## What is BaEm mobile?

Die App BaEm mobile ist eine Ergänzung des Webangebotes BaEm der Nordwestdeutschen Forstlichen Versuchsanstalt. BaEm (sprich bäm) ist die Kurzform für Baumarten-Empfehlungen. Mit BaEm werden klimaangepasste Baumartenempfehlungen für Waldstandorte zur Verfügung gestellt. Zur Zeit werden die Bundesländer Hessen und Sachsen-Anhalt unterstützt.
Der Klimawandel stellt für die Forstwirtschaft eine besondere Herausforderung dar, denn es wird erwartet, dass die Anpassungsfähigkeit unserer Baumarten vielerorts überschritten wird. Eine waldbauliche Handlungsoption zur Risikovorsorge ist die Wahl standortgerechter Baumarten, die insbesondere im Zuge der Wiederbewaldung von Schadflächen von tragen­der Bedeutung ist.\nDer Forschungsansatz der NW-FVA schätzt das Trockenstressrisiko für grund- und stauwas­serfreie Standorte über Schwellenwerte der Standortswasserbilanz. In dieser Bilanz wird der Mittelwert der klimatischen Wasserbilanz in der Vegetationsperiode für eine 30jährige Klimaperiode mit der nutzbaren Feldkapazität des Bodens verrechnet. Die Auswirkungen der sich än­dernden Klimabedingungen auf das Wachstum der Wälder und weitere Risiken werden ge­trennt betrachtet.
