## What is Balanced Roots Nutrition App?

Stop counting calories. Start hitting your minimums.

The Balanced Roots Nutrition App is a dietitian-designed meal planning app built around one simple method: the 90-30-50 method. At least 90g of protein, 30g of fiber and 50g of healthy anti-inflammatory fat every single day. When you consistently hit these three minimums, maintaining a calorie deficit, balancing hormones, stabilizing blood sugar and losing weight sustainably becomes effortless...without restriction, without obsession and without starting over every Monday.

Created by Courtney Kassis, Registered Dietitian, this app gives you everything you need to finally bridge the gap between knowing what to eat and actually doing it consistently.
WHAT'S INSIDE:

Dietitian-Created Structured Programs — Every meal and snack planned for you by a registered dietitian. Each program is built around the 90-30-50 method so your protein, fiber and healthy fat minimums are hit automatically every single day. No guesswork. No planning. Just follow the plan.

Auto-Generated Grocery List — Your full week of ingredients organized and ready. Shop once. Eat well all week. Never stand in the grocery store wondering what to buy again.

Recipe Swap Feature — Don't love what's on the plan? Swap it with one tap from the growing recipe library. Your grocery list and macros update automatically. The method stays intact. The meal changes.

Automatic Tracking — Calories, protein, fiber, fat and carbs are tracked automatically as you follow your program. Calories are visible for awareness, but they are never the focus. Hitting your 90-30-50 minimums is.

Growing Recipe Library — A database of 90-30-50 approved recipes added weekly. Every recipe is designed to be delicious, satisfying and built around real whole food ingredients. New recipes every week. Your subscription stays the same.

Community Platform — Connect with others following the method. Share wins, ask for support and stay consistent with a community that understands the journey.

Learn Section — Articles, blogs and education written by a registered dietitian to help you understand the method, apply it to everyday life and maintain it long term.

COMING SOON: New programs added regularly, including seasonal resets, blood sugar balancing, hormone health, autoimmune support, plant-based options and more. One subscription. Everything included. Forever.

THE 90-30-50 METHOD: The 90-30-50 method was developed and tested by Courtney Kassis, RD, through her own health journey, including losing 55 lbs postpartum and putting her Hashimoto's thyroiditis into remission through nutrition alone.

The method is simple. Every day hit a minimum of 90g of protein, 30g of fiber and 50g of healthy anti-inflammatory fat. When these three minimums are consistently met your body gets everything it needs to feel full, reduce cravings, balance hormones, stabilize blood sugar and lose weight sustainably without restriction, without calorie obsession and without white-knuckling through your day.

Not a diet. No starting over. Just minimums. And when you hit them consistently, everything changes.
For anyone who is tired of starting over. Built by a dietitian who was too.

### 2/5 — Limited & disappointing

*2026-07-31*

I had such high hopes for this app! I love the creator’s approach to tracking macros, emphasizing protein, healthy fats, and fiber. But the app ONLY allows you to track the recipes she’s created and pre-loaded into the app. Eat a banana? No dice. A post workout protein shake? Sorry! A piece of homemade toast? Nope! I emailed to confirm I wasn’t missing something, and stating how this renders this app essentially useless for real life macro tracking, and just got a generic “we’re working on new features” reply.

I really feel I wasted $30 because there was no option to trial it out. So this app is useful if you ONLY eat the creator’s recipes and pre-loaded food options, but for myself and most people living real lives, it’s essentially useless. Save your money until features are expanded!

### 2/5 — Not worth it

*2026-07-21*

I really wanted to love this app but it feels just really rushed. The photos didn’t match the food, the recipes were cut to individual portions and had weird measurements, and the community was not active and in order to post you had to include a image in every single post. The recipes posted on ig look really good and I was bummed to not be able to find them. For almost $40 a month I’d expect a better functioning app.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and stay consistent.

*2026-07-18*

Makes healthy eating simple and I’m seeing fat loss in just the first 2 weeks.

### 1/5 — Poor design

*2026-07-08*

Once I went through the post-purchase registration, I could t change my meal plan. I wanted to start with the 2-week plan, but it automatically sets you up with the 4-week plan.

I reached out for support with changing this and haven’t yet received a response.

Today, I received a mass distribution email with video tutorial that did not appear to be a response to my inquiry. Problem is, you need to get another app and register to watch the YouTube video.

Based on this experience, I won’t be renewing or recommending to others.

### 5/5 — So helpful in my health journey!

### 5/5 — Easy to use & personalized!!

*2026-06-29*

I’ve been using the Balanced Roots nutrition app for the past couple of weeks and it’s been a great tool for helping me stay accountable to my health goals. It’s incredibly easy to use and I love that everything is personalized to me and my specific goals. The app makes it simple to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed, and the personalized support has kept me motivated. If you’re looking for an easy to use nutrition app that helps you build healthy habits, and stay on track, I definitely recommend it!

### 3/5 — Want to love it!

*2026-06-29*

I’ve been waiting for this app to come out since announced and want to love it. Its still so brand new, so maybe time will tell? For the 1st reviewer: There is a way to change the daily meals to other meals and I really like how it updates the shopping list to correspond with those changes. My biggest complaint is that I cant add in my own meals or meals from past BR meal plans. So, I feel kind of stuck with the limited meals on the app in order to track everything in one place, as promised. 2. I would like to see more plant-based meals and 3. I would like to be able to restore past purchased plans—this might still be coming. It just-just rolled out, so I understand they’re probably inundated by QAs. I still love the overall program and will continue to update the app as the updates happen--just a few issues with the app that may affect if I renew.
