This app is horrifically and irredeemably terrible. I didn’t think it was possible to get anything into the App Store at this quality, but somehow Apple is letting this garbage fly. Blinds will not maintain room associations, long delays on connecting to gateways, sometimes the gateway won’t connect at all, leaving the app in a weird state. It’s just so, so, so bad. ### 1/5 — Subpar *2025-09-21, version 2.2.1* This app is terrible. Needs a major update but never gets updated. Pathetic design ### 1/5 — Zero stars is not possible *2025-08-02, version 2.2.1* This app - and the motorized Bali products that go with it - are so problematic that they should not be on the market until MANY more kinks are worked out. Essentially the expensive motorized Bali shades, blinds, cellulars and required accessories such as WiFi bridge are not fully functional at their current stage of development. In regards to the app itself, it is buggy, not user friendly, and does not allow the user to see some of the critical information about blind status. If you are looking for a window treatment with automation, you should purchase a different brand until Bali sorts out the basics. ### 1/5 — Routines no longer working *2025-07-24, version 2.2.1* Bluetooth connection. The blinds themselves get in app updates occasionally and my schedules do not work anymore. Once every few days ONE of my schedules works randomly. Extremely frustrating. Having paid SO MUCH for my smart blinds, I expect the smart app to actually function properly. This app could be great if they put an ounce of effort into it. As of now I cannot recommend these blinds, at least the motorized ones for smart purposes, to anyone. ### 1/5 — Unintuitive app *2025-06-02, version 2.2.1* Somehow the relative sunset based scheduling works on the wrong time zone while routines using absolute time work fine. Plus for some unknown reason I can only make some simple multi-shade routines work if the shades use some combination of favorites and % closed values. Very confusing. Some of this is probably caused by the gateway’s buggy implementation, but the app provides no help in debugging these issues. ### 1/5 — Needs Major Update *2025-06-02, version 2.2.1* I’ve successfully added my solar shades, but I’ve encountered a few issues. First, I can’t use all the functions simultaneously because either one or some of the shades disappear. Second, the app doesn’t always remember the “favorite” position. It also doesn’t allow me to lower or raise the shades with a single touch. Overall, I love the shades, but the app needs a major update. ### 1/5 — Who did this? *2025-05-18, version 2.2.1* One of the worst apps I've used. While a slight improvement over the last version that was terrible, this is still terrible. Connects less that 1/2 the time, no feedback on if it worked so you don't know unless you are looking at the blinds, and even when it does work it is so slow in responsiveness you will hate that you bought into it. Pretty useless. I like my shades, but would never buy Bali again! ### 3/5 — Bali Blinds - battery level *2025-05-13, version 2.2.1* I love my Bali blinds. I don't care for the fact that I have to play a guessing game if they are ready to be recharged. Many times I open the app and several of my blinds have no battery level indicator appearing. This is a problem when my 6 to 8' wide blinds are down and no longer have power. Manually raising them to get to the battery pack is challenging when I try to do it alone. The whole point is to automate your blinds yet the automation works about 10% of the time. Most of the time 1/4 or 2/4 blinds work while the rest say ‘offline’. Also, the Gateways just randomly go offline and quit working so you have to unplug them to get them to maybe start working again. I currently have a Gateway that just went offline and hasn’t come back in over an hour. Blinds.com should be ashamed to sell this product and wish some lawyer would raise a class action suit against them for selling garbage technology for such a high markup. Add shades, they delete themselves. Then just randomly goes offline. This is literally one of the easiest and least buggy apps I have ever used. Setup went flawlessly, took very little time, and my shades work flawlessly every single time. I couldn’t be happier with them. I can’t wait to get more shades for my bedroom and other rooms in my home. Maybe it’s the hub that causes problems because I don’t have anything except my iPhone and the shades themselves. Hub is unneeded imo. ### 5/5 — Why the bad reviews? *2025-05-23, version 2.2.1* I don't understand all of the bad reviews. I had no problem linking all of my shades (6 total). The app has not crashed and opens with no problem. Have opened the app a dozen times over the past week and haven’t had to wait more than a few seconds to have access to my blinds. Kudos to the app dev team. Trust the reviews. This app is awful. Every single time I open the app I feel like I’m playing roulette and betting on black because half the time it doesn’t see my blinds and there’s nothing I can do. Instructions were missing so had to work through it. App started and wanted to connect to hub. Adding shades was intuitive too. Only difficult part was assigning shades to the gateway. There’s a “Transfer Shades” that assigns them. Then I was able to setup routine. App and routines are working well. ### 4/5 — So much improved… *2025-02-17, version 2.2.1* This app is so much improved over the previous version. Still hangs up from time to time. There is no way to tell that routines are off or on in the app. They turn red when you turn them off but it doesn’t stay red to know it’s off later.
