## What is Ballet Log?

Ballet Log is a notebook for dancers — a quiet place to record what you learned, capture how it felt, and look back on your progress.

Built around four spaces:

LOG — A photo diary in collage form. Save the moments that made class memorable, with filters, stickers, and one-line captions. Optional workout stats (calories, duration, heart rate) overlay your photo when you've worn Apple Watch.

CLASS — Detailed class records. Note your barre and center combinations, the music your teacher used, who taught, and how you felt. Browse by month in a clean, minimal list.

NOTES — Free-form notes for choreography breakdowns, corrections, references, and links. Pin important ones, tag for quick filtering, attach photos, and link to specific classes.

HISTORY — A calendar view connecting everything. See which days had classes, photo logs, or notes — then dive into stats by week, month, or year.

Why Ballet Log:

• Local first. Your data lives on your device. No accounts, no cloud sync, no surveillance.
• Private by design. Export a backup file anytime to email, AirDrop, or Files. Restore on a new phone in seconds.
• Apple Health integration. Workout sessions from Apple Watch (Other / Dance / Pilates / Yoga / Functional Strength) auto-link to your class logs.
• Beautiful share images. Share a class log or photo log as a polished image to Instagram, Messages, or wherever you like.
• Three languages. Full English, Korean, and Japanese support.

Made by a dancer, for dancers. Quiet, focused, and yours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.13 — 2026-08-27

A new Music tab — Ballet class music is scattered across streaming services and hard to find unless you already know whose name to search for. This tab collects it: 61 accompanists from 15 countries, 780 albums, hand-picked. Pianists from the Vienna State Ballet, the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco, the Royal Ballet School, Canada's National Ballet School, and studios across Korea and Japan.

Today's discovery — One album each day, chosen for you. It changes at midnight.

New releases — Ballet class pianists put out roughly a hundred albums a year. The tab keeps up, and marks the ones you haven't seen yet.

Hear before you go — Every track has a 30-second preview, and the track list shows what each one is written for: pliés, tendus, adagio, grand battement. Tap through to Apple Music for the full thing.

Search — Look for a name, a school, a composer, or a country. Try "Vaganova", "Chopin", or "France".

Save what you like — Tap the heart on any album and it waits for you at the top of the tab.

### 1.12 — 2026-07-27

Change a photo — Editing a Photo Log now lets you swap the picture, not just the caption and tags. Open a log, tap the photo button at the top, and pick a new one — your caption, tags, workout, and date stay put.

Filter by tag — Tap the tags above the Log grid (studio, level, teacher) to narrow it down. Pick more than one to combine them, and clear anytime to see everything again.

### 1.11 — 2026-07-13

Collapse months — Tap a month header in the Log tab to fold it away. Collapsed months show a quick summary (photos · workouts) and stay collapsed next time you open the app, so a long history is easy to skim.

Open backups to restore — Tap a .bblbackup file in Files or Mail and open it in Ballet Log to restore. You'll be asked to confirm first, since restoring replaces your current data.

Backup fix — Fixed an issue where entries added just before exporting could be missing from the backup. New backups now capture everything.

### 1.10 — 2026-06-30

Tidier Log grid — Apple Watch workouts that don't have a photo yet are now gathered into a clean strip at the bottom of each month, so your photos lead the grid and your stats stay neatly out of the way. Add a photo to a workout and it rejoins the photo collage automatically.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-06-15

Bring in past workouts — When you connect Apple Health (or after this update, if you already have), Ballet Log offers to add the Apple Watch workouts from your last 30 days that aren't in your log yet. One tap and they're all in.

Pull one in from History — Open the History tab, pick a day, and any Apple Watch workout from that day that isn't logged yet shows up ready to add. Tap it and it becomes a workout entry — handy for older sessions or anything the automatic sync missed.

Under the hood — Quieter, faster logging and general housekeeping.
