## What is Banany?

Banany makes managing your childcare simple.

Keep your whole household organized in one place. Track shifts, manage pay, log your child's day, run a shared checklist, and share a family calendar — whether you're a parent or a nanny.

---Clock In, Clock Out---
Nannies clock in with one tap and see a live timer counting their shift. When the day is done, clock out and see hours and earnings instantly. Parents get a clear view of every shift, broken down by pay period, and can clock a forgotten shift out from their phone.

---Automatic Clock In/Out Reminders---
Set your home location on a map and Banany reminds nannies to clock in when they arrive and clock out when they leave. Configurable delay — no more forgotten shifts or surprise paystubs.

---Daily Checklist---
Keep everyone aligned with a shared checklist on the Home tab. Add standing daily tasks or one-offs for today, attach optional notes, and check items off as you go. Reorder tasks to match your routine.

---Daily Log: Meals, Sleep, Diapers, Activities, Medication & Photos---
Capture your child's day as it happens. Log meals, naps, diaper changes, medications, free-form activities, and photo moments — together on a per-child timeline or split out by kind. Track milk intake against a daily ounces goal with a filling bottle, and total nap time against a daily sleep goal with a glowing moon. Wake-up and bedtime markers anchor the day so the whole family stays on the same page.

---Family Calendar---
A shared calendar built for households. Add one-off events or recurring ones (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and edit a single occurrence without disturbing the rest of the series — just like the calendar app you already use. Multi-day all-day events and your children's birthdays appear automatically.

---Notifications---
Choose the updates you want — clock in and out, care logs, calendar changes, and checklist items added or completed. You only hear from Banany when someone else in your family makes a change, not for your own actions.

---Your Household at a Glance---
Add parents, nannies, and children to your family. See everyone in one list with contact info, roles, and child details like birthdays, allergies, and notes. Nannies see the parents they work with; parents see the full picture.

---Track Hours and Pay---
Every shift records start time, end time, duration, and earnings based on hourly rate. Choose the pay period that fits each nanny — daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Mark shifts paid one at a time, or use bulk mark-paid to clear a whole pay period at once. View the current period at a glance or browse the full history with date filters.

---Benefits and Pay Adjustments---
Set up benefits for each nanny — PTO, holiday pay, guaranteed minimum hours, mileage reimbursement, bonuses, or anything custom. Apply them to specific days in hours or dollars, and they flow into the same pay period totals as shifts so paychecks reconcile to the penny.

---Easy Setup---
Create a family in seconds and invite your nanny or co-parent with a simple 6-digit code. They join with one tap — no complicated onboarding.

---Free to Start---
Banany is free for families with one parent, one nanny, and one child. Growing your household? Upgrade to Banany Premium for unlimited parents, nannies, and children.

### 3/5 — Fine, but room to improve

*2026-08-19*

The features the app does have is great, I like how the log will keep a running timeline, and I like the loggable items. However, I have some suggestions. Being able to add checklists/a schedule of the day could be really helpful, plus the ability to add photos, and log other things such as medication if/when given. Also, I wish the app would send notifications when nanny or parent makes any inputs, such as clocking in/out, logged events, or schedule updates. And I wish the calendar made it more clear if it’s the parent or the nanny inputting an event. This would be helpful for “requesting” and documenting time off.

### 5/5 — what a fun app!

lots of great features for parents with kiddos
