Band Toolbox is a set of essential tools for the new practicing musician. Tools include: Metronome Transposed Tuner Interactive Fingering Chart Dictionary of Musical Terms Transposition Toolbox Scale Practice The Metronome is very simple use. You can adjust the slider for tempo or choose from a list of common tempos. The Tuner displays the frequency and note you are trying to play along with your instruments frequency. Simply adjust your instrument so the two frequencies are close (+ or - 4 or less) The interactive fingering chart shows notes chromatically in each instruments range. Check your fingering by playing the note shown. The chart will turn green if you are correct. See something in your band music you don't understand? Search it in the dictionary to find out what it means. Play a note and the transposition tool will show you that transposed notes in Concert Pitch, Bb, Eb and F. Scale modes allows you to pick a scale and see each fingering chart as you play the scale. App either does not respond or is VERY sluggish when trying to change notes. This is not ideal when you only have 30 minutes. ### 3/5 — Good start! *2022-05-29* This app is a useful tool for students to use while practicing at home. There are errors for some fingering charts however. I noticed that tubas b natural in the staff was given as 123 when it should only have been 12. ### 4/5 — Tuba fingerings *2021-03-11* I really love this app and I know my kids will love it. I’m going to encourage them to utilize it. I’m a band director and also a tuba player so My only suggestion is to Add the correct primary and alternative fingerings for tuba. For example,Primary fingering for F below 1st line G should be no valves. 2nd line B through Db should be the same fingerings as baritone’s Fourth Line F and Ledger line B-Db. I can’t wait to share this with my middle school kids, especially the ones that play transposing instruments. I’m a band director and the best thing for me is that you’ve got several key tools you need all in one place. Simple design and tons of functionality are turning this into my “go to” tool for rehearsals and lessons. My two biggest pros... (1) The metronome is straight ahead and not cluttered with things I don’t need (love the tempo markings associated with set tempos!). (2) Fingering chart with notes is crystal clear and provides a nice visual reference to show the student.
