Bandapella is a multitrack recording studio on your phone. Record vocals, guitar, keys or beatbox one layer at a time, edit every take on the waveform, mix it all together, and share the finished song as audio or as a split-screen video. Make it on your own, or invite friends to record their parts. It started as an acapella app, so it is made for voices first: sing every harmony yourself, record an acapella cover, build a virtual choir, or be a one-man band. Record in layers • Multitrack recording: overdub each new part while you hear the others in your headphones. • Audio projects with as many tracks as you like. • Video projects with split-screen layouts from 1 to 16 parts, in square or vertical 9:16. • A metronome with tap tempo, and a countdown before each take. • Import a backing track, such as a beat or an instrumental, or bring in audio parts and video you have already recorded. • Auto sync lines up every take with the rest of the song. Edit every take • A waveform editor with pinch-to-zoom. • Trim, split, move, fade, crossfade and reverse any part of a take. • Shift the pitch up or down by as much as an octave, and change the speed. • Slide a take earlier or later to tighten the timing. • Undo and redo your edits. Shape your sound • Auto Pitch detects your key and scale, then tunes your voice naturally or with a hard-tune effect. • Clean Vocal reduces rumble, background noise and harsh "s" sounds, with a high-pass filter and a three-band EQ. • Effects: studio, room and hall reverb, compression and tone, saved as presets you can copy to other takes. Mix like a studio • Volume, pan, mute and solo for every track. • Automation: change the volume, pan or reverb over time. • Loudness normalization keeps the final mix even. Collab with friends • Invite friends with a link or a code. Each person records their part on their own phone, and their takes sync into the project. • Start a remote band, a virtual choir or an a cappella group without being in the same room. Share it • Export AAC audio or MP4 video. • Post your song to the Bandapella feed as audio or video, follow other musicians, and like and comment on their posts. Ideas to try • A song demo: guitar, bass and lead vocal, one track at a time. • An acapella cover with every harmony sung by you. • A one-man band: beatbox, bass line, chords and melody in one split-screen video. • A virtual choir with friends, family or your church choir. • Vocals over a beat or an instrumental you import. • A duet with yourself, or with a friend in another city. Made for singers, songwriters, beatboxers, multi-instrumentalists, choirs, a cappella groups, music students and cover artists: anyone who wants a multitrack recorder and a home recording studio in their pocket. Bandapella Premium Recording, editing, mixing, collabs and sharing are included for everyone, with takes of up to 1 minute. Bandapella Premium adds takes of any length, video layouts with 5 to 16 parts, Auto Pitch and effects in your finished mix, and recording at up to 320 kbps. I use this app to sing acapella or just make a band by myself. One man army, y’know? Premium also ups the game but I’ve had it forever since I was there in the beginning. 😀 ### 5/5 — Really loving this app *2026-10-10* great hidden gem! ### 1/5 — Bro what *2026-08-06* The crop icon is unreliable. I’ve tried too many times for it to be user error lol. Sometimes it crops, most times it just resets without changing anything. Uploads both within the app and from the media library are liable to crash or load a blank square… Shouldn’t be this hard **Developer response:** Hi! Sorry about that - we've identified the issue and it is fixed in Bandapella 5. I'd love to hear if this has been resolved for you. Please reach out at support@bandapella.com ### 1/5 — Unusable *2026-01-08* You have to create an account to use this app. I put in my email, username and password I wanted, and it said “something went wrong, try again later.” I tried a different username and it worked, so instead of telling you that the username is taken, it just makes you think it’s a random error that can be overcome by trying again later. Really bad design, but okay let’s keep going because I want to use what this app has to offer. The new username works, but while the account was being created the little loading wheel just spun endlessly. I crashed the app and reload it, tried to create an account again and it says that email is already in use. So while the wheel was spinning something actually happened. Okay great, I try to sign in and it says my email is not verified. There was no verification link in my email. I go back into the app to see if I can somehow have a verification sent to my email. Nope, nothing. The app just tells me the email isn’t verified. I tried to make an entirely new account with a different email and username and the exact same thing happened. The loading wheel just spun and spun until I had to crash the app again, load back in, try to log in with the new email and again it tells me my email isn’t verified. Again, no verification link in that email either. Checked spam both times and nothing from the app there either. And again, going back into the app gave zero options to have the email verified. Terribly designed app. Might even be maliciously designed to farm emails to sell. **Developer response:** Hi there - my apologies for the late reply. I'm really sorry about that! This login bug was actually fixed a couple major versions ago. We value our users privacy and most certainly do not release data to any 3rd party. Please let us know if you're still having issues, email us at support@bandapella.com and we'll be happy to reset any email or desired username. ### 1/5 — Bad *2025-12-23, version 4.1.6* Doesn’t work. You record something and it just says ‘sorry something went wrong’ ### 5/5 — This is really cool *2025-11-30* So far I’ve been really enjoying this app. It’s much cheaper than the alternatives and it’s come so far since I last tried it. I had a few issues and the developer was super responsive. ### 5/5 — Amazing app *2025-09-27* This app is amazing, the only thing is sometimes you have to trim your audio recordings. 5 ⭐️ ### 4/5 — Probably the best out there for use free *2024-12-25, version 1.1* A few problems- can’t set tempo for metronome and dodgy count in and lag But other wise it’s a solid app and I really enjoy it could see it being the best in a years time ### 5/5 — Fun to use. *2024-09-19* I like the ease of use, would definitely recommend for any musician or creator. ## Frequently asked questions about Bandapella ### What is Bandapella?
