### 3/5 — Volume control issues

*2026-09-06, version 3.3.6*

If I am streaming from the app, the volume often changes when I do not even have the app visible or sometimes even when I am not touching the phone. I think that it has something to do with being able to control the volume using the hidden swipe gesture on the app's album art screen combined with there possibly being some iOS bug with that feature that allows that to happen even when the album art screen is not visible. It is driving me crazy. I just go to scroll something or just swipe up on my phone and it cranks up the volume on Bandcamp. It makes the app almost unusable. Also, the help page for the app does not exist.

### 2/5 — Bc

*2026-08-30, version 3.3.6*

Fails to work like it used to, always an intermittent malfunction to the app that disrupts workflow resulting in being frequently kicked out of the app

### 2/5 — Hard to use app

*2026-08-28, version 3.3.6*

How in the world does one find the artists we follow? App shows on the search page that I’m following Guthrie Trapp, but his two new tracks are no where on my favorites page?!

### 3/5 — Difficulty making an account

*2026-08-16, version 3.3.6*

Every time I try to make an account I just get a message that says, "Network error 429." What's happening?

### 3/5 — Dark mode.

*2026-08-07, version 3.3.6*

Great app overall. But it desperately Needs a dark mode.

### 3/5 — Not sure…

*2026-08-07, version 3.3.6*

… why such a great service would have such a mediocre app. Maybe it’s the Apple of it all; the Android version is a whole heck of a lot better.

### 3/5 — Please enable automatic app opening of BC links!

*2026-08-07, version 3.3.6*

Bandcamp as a website/organization itself is a 5/5 due to being among the best at how artists are treated (AFAIK). However, this app itself leaves a lot to be desired as it too often requires manually refinding artists/albums rather than seamlessly opening the app from the website, as well as links in messages opening back in the browser instead of in-app.

### 3/5 — Search isn’t functional

*2026-08-01, version 3.3.6*

there is content that does not show up when you search for it in app, which requires me to google around, and then sign into my account on desktop.

### 3/5 — Great service, bad library

*2026-07-28, version 3.3.6*

As a music app it’s pretty bad. It just sprawls all your purchased music on a single page and doesn’t have any sort of library function like iTunes or Spotify would. Very difficult to use on the phone, worse in the car

### 3/5 — Error 429

*2026-07-20, version 3.3.6*

I love Bandcamp but every time I’ve tried to get on it lately I get an “error 429”and can’t browse or play music.

### 4/5 — Well…hands down blowout!!!

*2026-07-12, version 3.3.6*

Keygen Church…wow… best computer gen ever !!! Love the organ mystique… first time listener… Future listener

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Massive improvement needed

*2026-09-03, version 3.3.6*

This has to be the hardest platform imaginable for end users.. has any decent market research taken place? I want to use this platform because the artists get more out of it but it is that user unfriendly I tend to avoid it. Issues: Finding artists, being able to buy songs, sometimes there’s only a wishlist & others a download option, finding the songs you’ve brought, playing the songs you’ve brought, why do I have to queue if I want to continuously listen to my songs.. list goes on.

### 1/5 — Zero support

*2026-08-31, version 3.3.6*

I have bought two albums and told to DL this app/ to listen and can’t find the album DL. They’re absolutely ZERO support or link to help. Only FAQs. I’ve tried messaging through instagram- absolutely NOTHING. This is really disappointing !

### 1/5 — No Darkmode

*2026-08-14, version 3.3.6*

It’s 2026, WTF! Add Darkmode!

### 1/5 — Can’t login, can’t create an account

*2026-08-14, version 3.3.6*

Downloaded an album to my iPhone, it’s disappeared, now u can’t create an account and can’t log in with an account it says I already have. Broken.

### 1/5 — REMOVED ARTIST I BOUGHT SONG FROM

*2026-08-05, version 3.3.6*

Took app staff 3 days to get back to me. Offered no explanation for why they removed artist content and refunded my donation ti the artist. The people running bandcamp are censoring and are cowards!

### 1/5 — Now Bandcamp are now censoring artist

*2026-08-03, version 3.3.6*

Boy George’s We Will Dance Again and his profile appear to have become unavailable, raising serious questions about freedom of artistic expression. If art that remembers the victims of the Nova music festival can be silenced, what message does that send?

Over 300 young people were murdered simply because they were dancing at a music festival. Remembering them should never be controversial.

Art should encourage discussion, not suppress it. If content is removed, platforms owe artists and audiences a clear explanation.

### 1/5 — Idee gut Umsetzung naja

*2026-07-27*

### 1/5 — Lacks Flow, Annoying Use

*2026-07-21, version 3.3.6*

This app is really annoying to use! I’ve used Bandcamp forever, but I hate this app. Why does it take 3 steps to add something to a playlist? Why does it just stop playing after you play a song?

It lacks any flow to listen to the music you’ve just purchased. I have hundreds of songs, it’s so time consuming to create new playlists or listen to all the new songs I just bought. I don’t like the shuffle feature to get around this because it seems to shuffle all the old songs in my collection first. Just autoplay from where you start! Shouldn’t be hard? I also don’t like how albums are hidden in a sense until you click on them, but not truly annoying like the other two high friction points.

These couple issues are the barrier to a truly terrific app. PLEASE CHANGE IT!

### 1/5 — Can’t buy music, can’t download music onto device

*2026-07-18, version 3.3.6*

You can’t buy music in the app. Can’t download music to local storage to use a different player. Navigation is tedious when trying to discover new music even by the same artist. The organisation of your purchased items is a mess. It’s funny cause the app actually works it’s just all bad design choices.
I’ve stopped buying music on Bandcamp because it’s such a hassle. Occasionally they decide to not let you download your purchases because they say you used a different email when I only have one.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t really support the artists as much as they promote they do

### 1/5 — Search function is terrible

*2026-07-17, version 3.3.6*

Lesser known artists can be unfindable on search. Please update so exact matches actually show up when you search.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Buy music!!

*2026-08-20, version 3.3.6*

Buying music has never felt so liberating.

### 5/5 — I go to CCYM summer camp I love the music

*2026-08-07, version 3.3.6*

I love the music that Ian wrote

### 5/5 — literally the best app I have ever used

*2026-08-03, version 3.3.6*

I love bandcamp

### 5/5 — The BEST

*2026-08-02, version 3.3.6*

The only music app I use

### 5/5 — Love Jordan Rainer!

*2026-07-21, version 3.3.6*

Love Jordan Rainer!

### 5/5 — Love Bandcamp, the player needs work.

*2026-07-13, version 3.3.6*

I have been with bandcamp for a long time and I appreciate the slow but steady improvements to the player. I understand why rolling out public playlists is a good way to share outside of bandcamp, but I was hoping we could have seamless album playblack in app and maybe a shuffle button at the top of playlists. Those small features would elevate the app from "indie music sales platform" to something that could start to pull people away from the big streamers.

### 5/5 — Hands down the best streaming platform

*2026-07-10, version 3.3.6*

This is what music would look like if soulless businessmen didn’t co-opt human creativity into a business model. Bandcamp is real. User-uploaded, for free, direct support from fans to artist through merch and music sales, and the artist actually sees the money, not fractions of a cent. Bandcamp is incentivized to help the artists make money, because they only make profit from a small royalty on merch and music sales.

### 5/5 — Comment acheter ?

*2026-07-09*

Super, j’utilise depuis plus d’un ans, mais depuis peu, je trouve plus le bouton pour acheter des musiques et des albums.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2026-07-06, version 3.3.6*

One-time album purchases are always better than having to subscribe to a pro version to get all the music on the site.

### 5/5 — I get to own the music!!

*2026-07-03, version 3.3.6*

I get to own the music!!
