The app overall is awesome and I connected with many, countless musicians. But there is also this person named Julie Mogan. "! WARNING: This person sent me inappropriate and disturbing images, made threatening comments, and tried to pressure me into sending money. I am a minor and felt unsafe. I have reported this user to my parents and the authorities. Please be extremely cautious if you interact with this person. I do NOT recommend working with her." Do not work with Julie Mogan. She seems nice and friendly. But the second you move off the app everything goes sideways. It’s only been two days and I am already traumatized. Please. Do not work with her. People who work on the app, I beg you to remove, block, and report her. Thank you. I just want everyone to be safe. It failed. I tried to log in with Google. Fail. Apple. Fail. Used the email option and also failed. It wouldn’t even let me type a password. The keyboard came up but nothing happened when I typed. You set your location but constantly get messages from fake accounts in other countries. People who claim to have heard your track even though you haven’t posted one. Reviews that claim below they found people to jam review are likely chatting rubbish ### 1/5 — Beware *2026-01-18, version 5.4.1* Bandfriend is overrun with scammers, sex workers pushing hookups, and straight-up illegal vibes. Underage people are clearly on here too, people are getting creepy messages with zero moderation or protection. I just wanted to find beginner musicians in my area to jam with—deleted it fast and reporting it. Avoid this app completely; it’s not safe. ### 1/5 — This app is full of bots and scams. *2025-12-15, version 5.4.1* I originally downloaded in hopes I would find musicians interested in my band, but I haven’t gotten a SINGLE real response from any real person, my phone is flooded day by day with dms from bots and people trying to make a quick buck. I have not had an interaction with a real person. Not even one. I have been messaged, comments on my post, likes on my post, all are bots trying to scam. A bunch of bots also asking you to write a Happy Birthday song? Specifically for their son? It’s weird. Not worth it. I recommend local events or making a post on Facebook marketplace/events. ### 1/5 — Scam Bots and Useless Filters *2025-08-25, version 5.4.1* Your inbox gets blown up with bots that are looking to scam you for your information; there are so many of them and they are impossible to stop. Also, the available search filters are not helpful. There is no way to filter by user age or even area; all you can do is search for posts that are “nearby”, which for me covers the whole state. I live in a big metropolitan city and the user base is very small.
