## What is Bang Bang Weight Tracker?

Bang Bang is a dead-simple weight tracker built on one idea: the plan is the plan.

Set your start weight, goal weight, and goal date once. That draws a single straight line from where you are to where you're going — and it never moves, never re-adjusts, never grades on a curve.

Every day you log one number: the raw weigh-in off the scale. No smoothing, no moving averages, no trends. Bang Bang compares it to today's point on the line and gives you one blunt answer:

• At or under the line — "You're on track."
• Within half a pound over — "You're close. Keep it up!"
• Above that — "Eat less today."

On the chart, every weigh-in is a dot against the line. Day to day the dots scatter. Some land above, some below. That's normal. Keep answering the daily verdict and you'll watch the dots follow the straight line all the way down to your goal.

That's the whole system. Named for the bang-bang controller in engineering: two states, no dithering. Inspired by the Steve Ward Diet.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-08-26

You can now set your plan by pace instead of by date. Pick how much you want to lose
per week — half a pound to three — and Bang Bang works out the goal date for you.

Setting the plan by goal date now shows the weekly pace that date works out to, and
says so when the pace is an aggressive one.

Everything else is unchanged: the line still never moves, and the daily verdict is
still based on the raw number off the scale.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-06
