## What is Bangorama?

The music quiz you can play with friends around the table or in the car.

Play a 30-second clip and guess: who's the artist, what's the song, and which decade — or the exact year — is it from?

One player is the game master: they hold the phone and run the music, so the phone never has to travel around the table. When it's your turn, you guess. Feeling brave? Shout BANGO! on someone else's turn if you think you've got it all right (artist, song and exact year) — but you risk losing points of your own.

Pick how you play
• All bangers — a world of hits from the '60s to now
• Film music — guess the artist, the song, and the film it's from
• More modes on the way!

Tune it to your crew
• Choose the winning score (5–40) and which decades are in play
• Set up players in seconds — the app remembers who played last time
• Blaster, our little mascot, cheers you through every round

The details that make it fun
• Thousands of songs — with more added in almost every update
• The song playing is NEVER revealed on the phone or on CarPlay in the car — unlike board games that play through Spotify and the like
• In five languages: English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Croatian
• No login, no ads, no data collection — just open it and play

Turn up the volume, gather the crew, and find out who really knows music!

Designed and built by Ingrid, Jon-Vegar, Emilie, Michael, Lars-Joachim, Nora and Jon Trygve.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.6 — 2026-08-01

Better to play on a weak connection.

• A heads-up when you're offline. You used to find out when the first song wouldn't play — now it says so up front.
• The countdown stops if a song stalls. It used to keep ticking towards something that never arrived.
• Smaller fixes under the hood.

### 3.5 — 2026-07-30

Easier to read, and a small nudge on Fridays.

• Skip the song. Without a connection the game could lock up on the very first turn — now you can move on.
• Better readability. Text and buttons have clearer colours in both light and dark mode.
• Friday reminder. Want a nudge when it's been a while? You'll be asked once, and you can say no.
• Fixes: "Reset all statistics" left solo records behind, and a couple of texts promised more than they delivered.

### 3.4 — 2026-07-29

Disney now has more than twice as much music.

• Disney went from 152 to 374 songs. English is now the default and covers 52 films — the dubbed versions only exist for a fraction of them, so you get a wider game right away.
• Share the winner card. When someone wins, share the moment as a ready-made image straight to a story.
• New statistics. See who in your group has the most wins, the most games played and the best single score.
• A tidier setup flow: clearer wording and fewer unnecessary numbers on the way into a game.

### 3.3 — 2026-07-27

BANGO no longer punishes the player whose turn it is! If someone calls BANGO, you get a new song straight away either way. Bango now only costs the person who calls it.

Playing several rounds in a row? You won't get the same songs again — the app remembers what's been played during the evening.

Shorter games: the target now starts at 10 points, and you can see roughly how long a game will take right below the points slider.

Film music: 46 new films, and "Normal" has been re-curated so it's actually easy.

Fixed: if you typed the last player's name without tapping +, the name was lost. Now it's included.

### 3.2 — 2026-07-24

• Two new modes: Pure party — nothing but floor-fillers for the pre-party — and Disney, where you guess the song and the film it's from
• Film Music now has Standard and Expert difficulty — Standard sticks to the most recognizable films
• Small fixes, including switches that could get clipped on some phones
• New: send us feedback right from the Home screen
