### 4/5 — Font color needs to be white.

*2022-01-25*

I didn’t even notice the sections had labels because the font is dark grey and the background is black. Change the font color to white. Otherwise it’s a perfect layout. Congratulations!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. I did fix the problem in the latest version. Thank you, Jiri

### 5/5 — Banjo Beginner must have

### 5/5 — Cool Tool Fool

### 5/5 — Best Banjo App ever!

*2013-12-15, version 2.0*

Wow, I love this app. Not only does it help you lock in the essential picking roll patterns that are absolutely essential to 3 finger style banjo but at the same time you can improve your ability to read tablature if you watch the note patterns. I have been playing Bluegrass Banjo for a few years and this is way better than a metronome because of all the extras i.e. controllable guitar and bass backup and a huge selection of roll patterns including claw hammer. It will help anybody working on 3 finger style not strictly Bluegrass. This app is gonna help me play faster and cleaner, every banjo player's dream.

### 5/5 — Great tool!

*2013-11-02*

As a very frustrated person trying to learn, this tool has really gotten me into a daily habit of playing. Practicing the rolls with chord progressions (especially with the "speed up" function) is fun-- almost like a game. What would make this even better would be some other chord progressions and/or switching rolls through the chord progressions. Thanks for making this!

### 3/5 — Careful

*2013-10-17, version 2.0*

Misleading doesnt teach you rolls you have to pay another .99 & you put your own rolls in still helpful just misleading!

### 5/5 — Moo

### 5/5 — Helps significantly

*2013-06-29*

Worth the price

### 5/5 — Banjo practice

*2013-06-25, version 2.0*

I use to practice just with a metronome, but this app makes practicing rolls heaps more fun. Works well but it helps if you can plug your device into an amp.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!!!!

*2013-06-22*

This app has greatly accelerated my practice schedule!! I put on headphones and play along to the rolls and it keeps me accurate and in time!! Before you know it you've played the roll thousands of times!!!!

It's amazing!!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work.

Doesn’t work at all. Total waste of time. Want my money back.
If all of the OLD-good reviews are correct, why doesn’t it work?

### 1/5 — I really loved this app...

*2014-11-19*

I was a daily user of this app until this update. I'm running IOS 7 on an iPhone 5c and lack the space to upgrade to 8. It is completely unusable.

### 1/5 — Not worth a cent

*2013-06-29, version 2.0*

No substance. waste of money.

### 2/5 — Good app bad value

*2024-01-18*

It’s a decent little app that shows you several rolls to practice and that’s it. Nothing more nothing less. Not a $5 app in my opinion.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Superbly designed app, well done!

*2022-07-28, version 4.2.0*

As a beginning Scruggs banjo player, I have learned most rolls by having to use YouTube or books. With this app, you can choose a roll and practice it for eternity at any speed having to glance at a book or restart a video over and over when you want to play along to a roll.

Truly a superbly designed app that I now find invaluable. Kudos to the developer, well done!

### 5/5 — Greatness

### 5/5 — Waste

The sound does not work on the app. Don’t waste your money

**Developer response:** Hi, please switch your mute button off. Thanks, cheers, Jiri

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2017-09-05*

I love this app. The most basic use is just to improve the speed of your rolls (it has a speed up option - you can tell it to speed up x bpms every y bars) but you can also put in your own chord sequence so it's really good for practising chord changes of a song or soloing on top of the banjo rolls. I even use it for scale practice - it makes it slightly more interesting... Yep. Well worth it!

### 5/5 — Pickerwant2B

*2016-12-03*

Great app! Works great for practicing late nights on the banjo board from Hatfield Music. Wish you could save save the song progression you create in the cords area. I would also like to see the ability to add some additional notes (like "D7" - future update?). Again, Great app!

### 5/5 — Great for learning

*2015-04-01*

This is great. Let's you specify the chords you want to play using the specific roll you want to learn. It allows you to configure it to animate the notes as it plays. Wish it would do the same thing to the chord list so you can follow long songs and know what chord to play next. I learned to hardly ever fret the 5th string but this program frets it frequently for certain chords. Not sure that I like that. Would like a setting that lets you learn rolls without using the 5th string.

### 5/5 — Excellent thing

*2015-02-10*

This is a great app. Let's you learn rolls and build speed simultaneously. Ability to write in new rolls is great.

### 5/5 — Fantastic tool for practicing banjo rolls

*2014-11-29*

I was lucky enough to discover this app when it first came out and I was just starting to play banjo it was a huge help to my playing and I couldn't have gotten to where I am without it .

I'm very impressed with the new UI, they are doing a really great job of keeping this application relevant and progressing.

Definitely, worth it!!

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2014-11-11*

As a beginner this app is great!!! It's easy, you can work at your own pace!!! If you are learning!!! Get this app!!!

### 5/5 — Valuable app

*2014-06-10*

This app does a great job correlating the tab of various roll to its actual sound. I find that hearing what a roll is supposed to sound like is nearly as important as seeing the written tab.
