An ambitious start to what may be a great option for those of us that produce music with real drums kits. Needs some streamlining and efficiency tweaks. If you like this concept consider supporting this dev to help them see it grow and mature. ### 5/5 — Fantastic! *2021-10-21* I just downloaded this app, and I already love it. I’ve been looking for a good midi drumming app and I hadn’t found anything up to this point other than GarageBand, and I personally don’t like the midi drum sounds in GarageBand. But these sounds are great! And it’s so easy to map the sounds to your electric drum kit. The only thing I will say is that I wish you all would make a plugin version for GarageBand in iOS. That and the font in the app is a little hard to read. THE top drum app. ### 5/5 — Tremendous value drumkit, cannot complain. *2020-11-13, version 1.6* For the price this was I simply grabbed it to try out. I could have bought some candy and had less fun and be less healthy, for the same price. The sounds are actually really well thought-out, arguably more nuanced than other kits. It does not have AUV3 but for the price, that’s a hash criticism. Lastly, I do have a couple of Yamaha compact drum kits, with MIDI outputs, that I am keen to wire into the ipad and see how that goes, but have not done so yet - I will update when I try that out. The main strengths are probably that you can add your own samples, to make a drumkit to your own taste. Plus, you are able to trigger these from a MIDI device (eg one of my compact Yamaha drum kits). I have given it 5 stars despite it not having AUV3 capability, because it seems wrong to judge an app at this price, for a component or feature, the developer does not even claim it has. I did try it through IAA in GarageBand, and it was playable, although I did not get it to record on that occasion. It did however fire up from within garageband, and I got back into garageband after playing a bit, without a crash. This simple feat, much more expensive apps (eg some synths I could mention), cannot manage. So well done to the Dev, this is a triumph. It’s just not a top-end all-singing all-dancing triumph, and nobody really ought to be expecting that, as Apple moves the goalposts and this app does not ask the earth in payment. ### 5/5 — Get this app... I love it!!! *2020-10-28, version 1.6* Eduard you are a genius!! Such a cool human/developer👌 I absolutely love your app. How easy it was... hook up my E-Drums... open BarbaX Drums... PLAY!! Wanna change the sounds... few seconds... done!! Wanna reassign sounds to different pads... few seconds... done!! Oh... maybe slap a few effects on individual sounds... wait for it... done!! Hey... why not save your changes as your own preset kit for repeated use... tap, tap, tap... done!! It’s a no-brainer... it’s a 5 for me!!! ### 5/5 — Been sampling this for a while *2020-08-31* Too bad this little baby isn’t AUV3! But since most of drumming I do it either with Drambo or DigiStix / EG Pulse, the truth is what I want the most is simply a good soundbank for drums. BarbaXDrums is pretty much that, one of the best sample libraries for acoustic (and other types) of drums. Considering I got this for a single buck while it was on sale, I can definitely say this is one of the best purchases I made over the year in music production for iOS. Still not done sampling all of it!
