I have a brand new iPad and it constantly times out or lags when trying to pause. ### 2/5 — Lacking in accessibility features *2026-03-08, version 3.1.0* There’s no way to adjust the font size on the app, which is disappointing because the font size is very small. However more than half the time I try to use it, I just get a blank white page that never loads. I’ve tried quitting out of the app, deleting it and re-installing it, restarting my phone - nothing works until randomly the app loads again hours later. Makes it hard to pause play or rewind while driving ### 2/5 — Extremely Rudimentary *2025-06-09, version 2.8* The app as a whole, and to be honest even the full browser web page, is extremely rudimentary. I cannot control the in video player sound bar. I cannot control whether the video controls stay or fade away. The app takes a very long time to load into. Once you do, the UI is unappealing, it’s counterintuitive at best, and the aspect ratio is often confused as to what it should be. Overall, this would be a really good app if it was the first ever released beta version. However this app is astonishingly primitive for how long it’s been around. ### 3/5 — Good for Study, But Video Player is Annoying *2025-05-26, version 2.7* The app mostly preserves the functions of the online version, which is good. I appreciate that I can study even if I can’t use my computer at the time. I have two main gripes. The first, minor, is that I don’t see the amount of time I’ve spent per day when doing assignments. The second is that I can’t consistently keep the video in widescreen. Most of the time it shuts me out of widescreen halfway through the video and I can’t change it back. I’d rate the app higher if these problems were fixed. ### 3/5 — Video/Playposit *2025-01-20, version 2.4* I love the BARBRI App for the knowledge and convenience that it brings. I have a very hard time with playposit/ video keeping my place in the lectures. In other words, if I stop in the middle of a video and then go back later, it is never in a place that I left it. Also, when I don’t want to watch the video and just want to listen with playposit, it does not easily go from one to another. I have to try a number of times for playposit to then continue. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2025-01-19, version 2.4* Because the Barbri web platform is reasonably well designed, I was surprised and disappointed to find that the mobile app is so poorly done. It’s buggy and generally poorly designed. The offline audio feature is particularly frustrating. The app warns to log in before going offline and using downloaded media. However, the app will randomly check for a connection and kick you out of your media, which is maddening when, say, driving through an area with spotty cell coverage. I appreciate that Barbri wants to protect its IP, but ruining the experience for paying customers seems like a questionable way to do so. The practice question screens look as if the developers implemented it without a designer, or tried to implement a rough wireframe as if it were a final design. The app also seems generally buggy and lacks polish. ### 1/5 — Full of bugs *2024-12-26, version 2.3* This app is so stupid. It is always crashing. If you are able to get a quiz open and take it, it never saves your work or progress from completing the assignments. ### 4/5 — Great content, app is poorly optimized for iOS *2024-11-21* This app is optimized horribly. It frequently signs me out, the media display is strange, the zooming features do not work properly and parts of the app behave as if they are in a browser rather than an app. That being said, the content itself is phenomenal. Barbari is the gold standard for law exam prep for a reason. Doesn’t play downloaded clips if there’s no internet ### 1/5 — Just stick to computer version if at all *2026-08-08, version 3.3.0* I got this for mpre prep. You would think app developers would have the competence to seamlessly integrate AirPlay and audio encoding right? Right? Wrong! I like to watch videos on the big screen while following along with my iPad or laptop. Won’t even work right on laptop or pc. Not to mention the videos do not even follow the order of any of their textbooks. Not to mention further that this app is basically a shortcut to another app called Bookshelf, which glitches out when launched through this app. The only thing worthwhile with Barbri is Adaptibar, and only because it was developed by someone else before Barbri bought it out, and it’s only a matter of time before they screw that up too. ### 1/5 — Buggy Mess *2026-07-12, version 3.3.0* Awful UI too ### 1/5 — Sound cuts in and out *2026-01-02, version 3.0.0* Sound doesn’t really work. I’ll pause the video then play it again, and the sound won’t work. Also, I don’t recommend using Barbri for bar study. I used Barbri in 2017 and passed the bar exam, but now I need it again in 2026, and it’s a completely different and sloppy product. ### 1/5 — App is broken *2025-11-16, version 2.9.0* Can't even sign in without getting stuck in an infinite loop ### 1/5 — App has issues, lots of them *2025-08-11, version 2.8* I have to uninstall and reinstall the app every time I want to use the course after I haven’t used it in a few days. For some reason it completely empties out your downloads and shows no items after being logged in for a few days and logging out and back in does nothing, just gives you more errors. uninstalling it and reinstalling works but it’s very frustrating to do that then redownload the courses you already had downloaded for offline. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-06-02, version 2.7* This app serves no purpose whatsoever. Every time you try and download a lecture or view a handout it just comes up with an error message. Clearly needs a lot work. You can watch the videos, I’m not sure about the other functions as of yet because I haven’t attempted.
