You can’t download transactions, and there’s no way of searching or filtering transactions, so if you’re trying to find a transaction you just have to read through the list manually. Very backwards. And not everyone wants to do their banking on an app… some people don’t have smart phones, and people like myself like to use a computer. ### 2/5 — Won’t hold card details for payments *2026-08-25, version 7.74.11* I find this app hugely frustrating because every time I want to pay my balance. It makes me add my payment card details all over again. It simply won’t save the detsils. Doesn’t even remember the debit card I’m using to pay my bill, and makes me re enter it every single time. The app took me through a lengthy process, including validating my driving licence. It accepted my card details but once I was in the app it said I didn’t have a card. I just want the data, I want to look at my balance as it was when transactions happened but that’s gone. I’ve been with Barclays for 20 years, and somehow things just keep getting worse. At the moment, I only have a credit card with them, which I barely use but need to maintain my credit score. Every time I try to make a payment, I have to make at least four attempts before it finally works. It doesn’t remember your cards, so you have to enter the details manually every single time like an idiot. Then it glitches, tells you the details are wrong, fails to redirect you to the other website, and who knows what else. Every. Single. Time. Who thought that was a good idea at Barclaycard? You’ve updated the first page with card summary and transactions, but still showing the old theme when making payments. It’s not consistent at all. Stop breaking things for the sake of it, or at least do some QA testing before you deploy it. Also, every single time I try to get support it just says error and directs me to your faqs. FAQs don’t solve everything. ### 1/5 — Difficult to set up *2026-08-12, version 7.74.11* I’m technically adept, but found the app unreliable and clunky to set up. The verification of your facials through a video failed multiple times on an iPhone and I had to switch to an iPad. There’s an option to generate a QR code for a 2nd device but the alleged “search” box doesn’t exist! I have multiple apps from banks and credit cards and Barclays is the worst by a clear margin! The app reviews are overwhelmingly awful, and on the rare occasion they get an acknowledgement, it’s just a stock response! Management should be very worried and I wonder how you can get 4.5 stars with so much criticism??? ### 1/5 — Registration Nightmare *2026-08-12, version 7.74.11* It’s so difficult to register on the app if you have previously registered on another device that you no longer have access to. Decided to go with a different bank in the end. ### 2/5 — Haven’t been able to save a debit card for months *2026-08-11, version 7.74.11* The ability to save a debit card disappeared a few months ago, which means every time you want to pay some money off you need to enter the details again. There’s also glitches on the Home Screen, it seems to want you to scroll down to make things appear but that’s no good when your phone screen is long enough that you can’t scroll down! Also online support is never available anymore. Seeing as they are closing the website account login and pushing people to the app they need to sort it! Worthless app. Go somewhere else. ### 1/5 — Well behind the competition *2026-08-21, version 7.75.7* This app needs urgent work, the company and developers need to get a grip and actually invest in improving it - or people like me will move to the competition that maintain tech like a company in the 21st century……You can’t minimise the app to see another app without the app kicking you out back to the start. You can’t use open banking to link your credit card into your bank account (Monzo for example). Apps should be helpful to use, this one is a hindrance. After a week of use, I’ve come to the conclusion that regardless of my card and credit limit, the App is soo poor and outdated and frustrating/non-intuitive, I will close my account and move to a conpetitor - JUST BECAUSE THE APP IS SO POOR. I had to speak with customer services (instead of using the app) to setup a direct debit, access my account (I had to fully register again) after being locked out after uninstalling and installing again to try to self-help bug fixes. It really is THE worst banking app I’ve had the displeasure of using. Take note developers - Apps should make our lives easier, not harder. You will lose customers if you do not adapt and invest in this app, especially now it is the ONLY option for credit card holders as you do not allow online banking registrations any more!! ### 1/5 — No saved card function *2026-08-20, version 7.75.7* Saved card feature has been removed for making payments. Makes the Barclaycard app now one of the most archaic and not user friendly banking applications out there - fix ASAP. Most apps now offer Open Banking. Why not Barclays? Moving to Virgin until this is fixed. ### 1/5 — Still woeful *2026-08-19, version 7.75.7* This app really is dreadful. It’s functionality isn’t too bad, but the screen layouts are truly awful. The transaction page on an iPad Pro is pretty much all empty space, meaning looking at this takes loads of scrolling down when it could easily fit on one page. Also, it takes days for the statements to appear - I get the email notifying me that the statement is available, but it’s not. Then they won’t load. Now you’re turning off the website, so the functionality there that isn’t in the app eg next statement date, won’t be available at all. It no longer saves payment card details. It’s not clear if a payment has been made, no mention of it even pending. Then I get a message saying I’ve paid below the minimum amount which is wrong. App updated on 16 July but still the same problems. It used to be a lot better than this. Any help appreciated.
