### 4/5 — Great prehab!

*2020-11-13, version 3.19.14*

Majority of this prehab I do on a daily basis. But.... it is exceptional for those who don’t.

### 5/5 — Why not??

*2019-12-22, version 3.18.15*

Why not give this a try?? Why? Because if your focus is on getting back to your life without a hitch THIS IS YOUR ANSWER! When each day’s session arrives in your inbox, DO IT! Every single day there is more to learn in an easy to understand format. Hate using your cell phone because the letters are too small? NO WORRIES as we can do this on our computer or laptop. My intentions were to do this surgery without complications, I knew I had to trust the pros and PeerWell stepped right up! Do those relaxation techniques! I woke up from surgery calm and collected having used the relaxation tools right before going in. You’re going to love this! Now I’m ready to start playing again!!

### 5/5 — Like having an on-call therapist to prepare for surgery!

*2019-12-01, version 3.18.15*

Thanks!

### 5/5 — Before surgery!

*2019-11-29, version 3.18.15*

Each day I check for my PeerWell things to do with eagerness. My surgery is scheduled for the 5th of December and I have done my prehab for the past 17 days. By watching and doing the video exercises, I am walking better on my surgical knee. The meditations are great, especially the one on pain and anxiety. I feel this is an awesome program and look forward to what is expected of me every day.

### 5/5 — Preparation for surgery with Peer Well

*2019-10-30, version 3.18.13*

I started following the Peer Well app daily for about one month before my hip replacement surgery. It was very helpful to receive information about what to expect before the surgery, and which pre-hab exercises to do.

It was also extremely beneficial to follow the daily meditation. I was amazed at how calm I was leading right up to the surgery, and attribute this to the daily meditation.

I highly recommend this app.

### 4/5 — Great tips and exercises

*2019-10-06, version 3.18.12*

The info imparted regarding nutrition, Living Wills and more has been of help in my pre-OP prep

I have been doing all of the recommended exercises twice daily and feel that my leg strength and mobility has improved

I don’t relate well to the meditation exercises. I am not feeling fear or anxiety about the upcoming surgery. However I do enjoy the breathing exercises during meditation

A breathing exercise on how to breathe thru the pain would be welcome

### 5/5 — Knee surgery

*2019-09-12, version 3.18.9*

Great reminders to keep you on track.

### 5/5 — Feel well with PeerWell

*2019-09-06, version 3.18.8*

This gentle app gives you a manageable set of tasks to do each day. It provides the tools to assess your progress, breathing and coping techniques, and exercises. There have been occasions where I was overwhelmed by the prospect of all my PT exercises and chose to do the PeerWell activities instead. Surprisingly enough, after doing those daily activities I was feeling capable of doing the exercises I had been procrastinating. I definitely recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-08-02, version 3.18.5*

Good App, easy to do and very easy.

### 5/5 — Anxiety Reduction

*2019-07-31, version 3.18.5*

This is a great program for getting prepared for surgery. I did like the preop food instructions, post op exercises, and relaxation techniques.

### 5/5 — What a way to start the day!

*2019-07-29, version 3.18.5*

At first I thought this was a crazy idea! But I started doing the steps each morning, after taking my dogs for a walk and making my first cup of coffee. I sit down, close my eyes and listen. I do the exercises and then listen to the meditation. Not crazy about the voice, but do enjoy the message.
Then I start my day. Those minutes are probably the only time I take fully for myself each day. The exercises help and I am calmer.

### 3/5 — Good and yet redundant.

*2019-07-26, version 3.18.5*

I was first introduced to the PeerWell in 2017, in its free developmental stage, when I was looking for help before a hip replacement. It became more formalized in the middle of my hip rehab and they started charging monthly so I stopped.
Came back two years later, pre-op for a partial knee replacement. Because I had positive feelings about the prehab for my hip I decided I would pay the $50/month for the program. Silly me!!
It was the EXACT same info as for the hip replacement program. How can that be, they are different joints and very different procedures. Absolutely zero unique material (same as two years ago) until the rehab section where a range of motion activity is included for each day of knee rehab. Okay. That makes sense, good one. Oh and rate my pain for my physician (my surgeon does not support PeerWell)so why do I have to do that?? But the exercises in rehab are the same as prehab, the meditations are repeats, the helpful hints are the same... why am I still doing this??
Oh wait! I’m not. I’ve cancelled after four weeks of rehab.
Oh!! And how do you cancel?? It’s not obvious, you have to go through technical support. There should be a simple place on the settings to cancel.
I think it’s a great idea, but it needs an overhaul and that doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon. There are other apps you can use that don’t charge - MyKnee and BoneSmart to name two.
Think twice before you do this if your surgeon does not participate.

### 4/5 — PeerWell is great Prep!

*2019-07-21, version 3.18.4*

I found the whole program helpful... especially the videos of the exercises, the guided meditations and the breathing app. It increased my confidence and encouraged a simplified experience during the whole process. I am reworking the program now in post surgery recovery! I think they could offer the program of exercises and meditations in reverse for the two weeks post procedure with great results!

### 5/5 — PeerWell App

*2019-07-17, version 3.18.4*

great little App for me! as I just had my rotator-cuff repaired in May; this is a fun (great) App for following and tracking your rehab progress

### 3/5 — AWFUL Functionality for the IT

*2019-07-12, version 3.18.3*

The contents seem quite. good but the IT functionality is SO bad that it creates at least as much stress as it helps. Audio meditations stop and sometimes disappear in the middle and just now the Rehab one wouldn’t even respond or start when I tried to answer it’s initial question about complications.

### 3/5 — So so

*2019-05-11, version 3.17.10*

I don't want to watch videos. I have a pre and post surgery exercise regimen from the hospital in book form that I would rather use.

### 2/5 — No ability to review previous activities

*2019-03-18, version 3.17.5*

For the price paid for this resource, users should be able to review previously completed exercises and activities. Currently, once you have completed the exercise, you cannot go back and review it. You can only access that day’s activities on that day, and only unless they are not marked complete.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Fairly useless so far

*2021-05-27, version 3.19.33*

Well, I’m 3 days into this “prehab” app and finding it useless. This “medical” app does not include captions for the hearing impaired, rendering them useless. The exercises, from what I can ascertain without knowing what is said, don’t appear to be much exercise at all-I’ve been doing more strenuous exercises printed out from American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons website for weeks already. It wants me to provide a bunch of health info my doctor already has.
So far, this is not helpful at all.

### 1/5 — Cheated!

*2019-11-25, version 3.18.14*

The app doesn’t show all the exercises in one go. In fact every day a few exercises come up. It is frustrating as I don’t even know how many days are there in the routine. The information till day 3 is very limited. Spent usd 100 and thought all the information will be readily available. I feel like cheated by the prehab guys.

### 1/5 — Must pay a fee

*2018-10-02, version 3.16.4*

If your surgeon isn’t connected with PeerWell you have to pay a monthly fee to get access. Oh well. I’m not that interested.

### 1/5 — I can’t use the app

*2018-08-04, version 3.13.1*

It asks for an e-mail to get started. When I put it in, it says it can’t find it (of course not, I have not entered it before) and asks me to enter a “code” which I don’t have. When I hit on “help” it shows me an “ad” for different aspects of the app.
I did not want to give a negative review and I’ll remove it if I can get some help regarding how to use this app but so far it has just been an exercise in frustration.

### 1/5 — Waste of time.

*2018-07-16, version 3.13.1*

Well this was a waste. Unless you have a surgeon give you a code you have to pay $ 50.

### 1/5 — Passcode

*2018-04-30, version 3.11.0*

I was also asked for a passcode. I thought I got by it by hitting next. I entered some additional personal details and thought I was done. Then I received an error message after creating my password. It also wouldn’t let me enter a date for surgery earlier than May 1.

### 1/5 — Setting up app

*2018-04-29, version 3.11.0*

I am also having trouble setting up the app. Also don’t have a registration code with no clue where to get one. I have my doubts that this app will actually measure my ROM since it can’t e en handle setting up profiles. Even writing a review is cumbersome.

### 1/5 — Hmmmmm

*2018-04-22, version 3.10.4*

Same here, code??? Register??? Like breaking in to Ft Knox

### 1/5 — Can’t even get started

*2018-04-09, version 3.10.4*

I downloaded the app but I can’t set it up or use it without some mysterious code that I am supposed to have. Lame, PeerWell. Very lame. There is nothing to click to request a code and I can find nothing online to tell me how to do it.

### 2/5 — Could be worthwhile but I’ll never know

*2019-05-25, version 3.17.12*

Unless you know ahead of time you want to use this app, it’s not a good way to spend your money. Bought on the 14th day post surgery but it started at day 1. No way to skip ahead to the day you’re actually on. I emailed the developer a few times and eventually got pushed ahead to day 20 as I requested but now it’s stuck there. Tired of emailing the developer. On the plus side, the range of motion test is fairly accurate, give or take 5 degrees, to the measurement of the PT.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Don’t Need this

*2021-03-25, version 3.19.28*

Great Idea!

### 5/5 — Great pre-work

*2021-01-31, version 3.19.17*

Good information and great motivation to prepare for upcoming surgery.

### 5/5 — PeerWell Rehab

*2020-12-12, version 3.19.15*

This app was very helpful preparing me for my knee surgery. After surgery it was invaluable helping me through my rehab. I especially liked the tests, enabling me to see my progress. I recommend using this app faithfully for a good recovery.

### 5/5 — Helps to prepare for surgery

*2020-10-10, version 3.19.13*

The information, physical exercises and the other exercises help to prepare you for surgery and rehab post surgery. The physical exercises help to strengthen the leg pre surgery. The tests help you understand your progress or need for more exercises. The meditations help you to relax in preparation for surgery.

### 5/5 — Great pre surgery app.

*2020-06-04, version 3.19.3*

Love this app. Tells you everything you need to know.

### 5/5 — Norris

*2020-05-20, version 3.19.3*

So far everything has worked just as peer predicted

### 5/5 — AMAZING AND AWESOME

*2020-03-17, version 3.19.1*

This app has been a very great help to my recovery from surgery!!!

### 5/5 — Great app!!

*2020-01-29, version 3.18.15*

PeerWell made it easy to prepare for surgery. Today I had my hip replacement and everything went well. PTs said my legs were strong and in good shape for recovery. I highly recommend this smart helpful app

### 5/5 — Clark’s Review

*2020-01-12, version 3.18.15*

PeerWell provides a lot of great information both pre- and post-surgery. It is critical to start with the strengthening and circulation exercises as far before your surgery as possible. This will help get a jump-start on the post-surgery process. Be diligent, review the materials every day, pay attention the diet info and stay on top of the exercises. They are just the start. Move as much as possible as soon as you are comfortable doing so. Motion is lotion. Don’t be afraid of all of the pain, just don’t over do it. Good luck with your surgery and recovery.

### 5/5 — Great app, easy to follow

*2020-01-02, version 3.18.15*

Daily reminders but not over done. Easy to follow, useful info. Simple videos to follow. Really like this approach to prehab.
